I read The Last Wish, Sword of Destiny and Blood of Elves, currently reading Time of Contempt. I like how Yennefer is written, she's got character, but I don't like her as a person much (yet, maybe later in the books. Maybe).

So I'm on my 2nd playthrough of W3 now and decided to go for Triss this time. I just did a run of W1 and W2, both going for Triss. I like Triss.

But...I just completed Yen's quest of The Last Wish and... ouch. I had to let her down, and it hurt. Like I said, I don't particular like her, I wouldn't stand her to treat me as she treats Geralt. Including during her quest. But it still hurt to tell her there was 'no magic' anymore.

I love this game!

I honestly wonder why they went this way since TW1 Triss has so many of Yen's mannerisms/lines. She even has the "raising a source child" Ciri parallel (and the rage if you don't bring the child to her, just like how Yen sarcastically flipped out over Geralt going to Triss first) going on.

TW1 was obviously a broad homage to the books rather than being intended as a full series, but that reinforces why it could have been Yen since the reasons she was gone aren't brought in until TW2.

How are you this dense? Both were doing what they were ordered to by a monarch with power over them. Both had to kill. Neither based their life around it. Letho's role was crueler, but has still probably killed less people than Geralt.

So apparently CDPR is putting out a huge patch that will allow you to customize the color and detail of the sheath for your sword and will also put Yennefer, Ciri, etc back in the game (depending on your ending) after you beat it with new dialogue options, including one that allows you to travel with them after you beat the game. Sounds pretty interesting.

Just played the game through and got the Witcher Ciri ending that I am very content with

but what now?

By completing the game I lost all interest in any side missions
same has happened with dozen of other games that have hundreds of hours of side content but after completing the main story, it just doesnt feel right to continue
it's like your purpose in the world ends along with the completion of the story
even if there were to came DLC's, i probably wouldnt find the will to play those because they aren't affecting anything.

Why does the crafting system sucks so much in W3? It can't be that hard to make a craft menu that doesn't require fuckton of scrolling to get to the designated thing. Like, what is a search function? And it would be also nice to know in game which materials can be crafted into which or at least in what you could break them up into WITHOUT the need of sucking a blacksmith's smelly balls.

I've been playing through the game on Death March, first playthrough. It's been really difficult and I've died a lot. Progress is slow but I feel like I've gotten gud finally.
