I'm not, I'm just pissed that the last 2 episodes actually set up some interesting concepts that ultimately got brushed off today like it was nothing. I expected an episode more similar to Turn Left in a way that the Doctor was and everyone Bill knew was brainwashed and it's about her being the only one that members and slowly woke everyone else up until it ultimately got resolved. Not a Bill remembers her mum and voliá the monks are gone. It wasn't a bad ep, it just annoyed the hell out of me

Next episode looks fun though, isn't it? It will be probably the one kids remember the most, because there's gonna be action and Ice Warriors are like lego.

That was complete shit. What was even the point of this episode? of the trilogy as a whole? NADA! This should have tied the trilogy together nicely as a whole, incorperating elements from extremis and pyramid together to form the soloution, rather than asspulling YOUR MOM or something. The monks were desmystified by missy's weak dialogue, and the whole episode felt like a series of unconnected events that didnt feed into one another. There was no big profound point made, what was even the message of the episode? Humans can defeat dictators if they band together? what? What was even the point of the trilogy? Bill didnt pay any price for selling planet earth.

This trilogy had some really interesting themes. I loved the superintelligence theme of the monks,, the way they were some hyper advanced species whose physical forms were just to make a point, and who could simulate human minds. I also loved the "end of he world out of nowhere" theme, even if it was poorly done the point was made. The missy/morality stuff was good too. The finale was shit. Moffcuck wrote himself into a corner again and couldnt find a good way to get out of it.

It's meant to be clearly open. The episode was heavily thematically based around faith and the unknown. Unironically think it's one of the most intelligent episodes of Who because it asks an unsettling question and doesn't even try to give a neat bow-wrapped solution/answer. Even the Doctor is afraid and unsure.

The vibe I got at the end of the episode was that the question of whether it was really "him" or not got to the Doctor in a way nothing else ever had before. Challenged everything about his own ideas, beliefs and way of looking at the universe. Something he clearly wants to move on from at the end of the episode and never talk about again.

Then in Planet of the Ood he goes "I met the devil lmao" and it kind of ruins it. Maybe I misread Impossible Planet/Satan Pit.

At least Extremis was good. And Pyramid was sort of enjoyable.

The biggest weakness of the episode was in lack of worldbuilding. The police woman for example could be a very good focal character to see the change, but all she did is to read out a warrant.

This monk trilogy was a waste of 3 eps - utter shite. And that regeneration was dumb as shit. VERY close to dropping the show.

I only know Capaldi from Doctor Who. Should I watch The Thick of It? I don't know a thing about British politics.

The whole "missy turning good" storyline is bullshit anyway. We know how it will play out.

Yup its time for change. The power of love shite is getting terribly boring. The Monks should have had a final talking scene. By far one of the most promising 3 parters let down by sloppy writing. Toby whithouse and Peter Harness especially, I hope Chibnall doesn't allow them back at all. They cannot write a single episode without noticeable plotholes. From now on, writers will have to have certain standards and a quality to their overall work before being allowed to write for this show.

The Monks were literally in the ep for about 1 minute. Day is saved by Bill thinking about her mum. Really, really shit.

Probably one of the worst episodes of NewWho

They should've used this story as series finale. 2-parter where Monks rule the Earth. Bring in some characters from Moffat's era, like maybe Kate and Osgood and turn everyone into shadow of themselves.

Bill is an agent of memory police and Doctor's biggest fangirl. But she starts having doubts as old memories resurface. Doctor invites her to meet him and they fuck he reveals how things really are. Then they do what they did in the plot, but Doctor's plan fails and he's mortally wounded. Bill then says "The deal's off" and kills herself restoring the world.

So Chibnall knows Moffats guest writers are shit? that's why he's not allowing any of them back. Good on Chibs, the man can actually write, I understand why his own DW episodes turned out meh because of scheduling and behind the scenes crap. But I loved Broadchurch he can actually write convincing characters unlike Moffat and co.

Haha Marks episode is actually going to be the best one of series 10. What a timeline!

Gatiss' episodes have always been quintessential Doctor Who. I've enjoyed all of them with the exception of Sleep No More.

They're fun, straightforward stories.

Don't know whether this has been discussed to death already, not a big /who/ or even a big Dr. Who fan, but does it feel 'wrong' to some people that Amy, Clara and now Bill are in ways superior to the Doctor? I was under impression the companions were meant to be the audience's perspective but also to contrast whichever Doctor they're with in some way. For example, Rose and 9, she's naive and he's experienced. Just feels off to me that Bill is now the 3rd companion in a row to be morally superior to the Doctor.
