News:

>Spider-man homecoming and Warlock wave is showing up on eBay & other online retailers.

>SDCC 2017 Marvel Legends have now been revealed, featuring Lady Thor, Malekith, Ulik and more.

>You can use brick seek to see Marvel Legends in stock from different retailers near you. (You must supply the DCPI/UPC for the desired wave)

He was a figure listed in a leaked wave

It isn't 100% confirmed
>>
Hey, regarding this weird playset that comes with a giant Vulture, is it a reuse of some earlier playset?
>>
To get this thread going a bit:

Are there any ToyBiz legends you feel still hold up today OTHER than BAFs? They had a lot of problems with wonky body designs and extreme 90s details, but some of their stuff was alright.

I picked up the new Yondu last night. It's my first Marvel Legends, and I can say I really like it. I want to get the Star Lord from the same set next.
>>
>>6312319
Am I missing something, or is brickseek useless for Marvel Legends at walmart? It says there's 25 Cyclops at my closest Walmart, and I know that isn't true.
>>
>>6312850
All figures that come in an assortment use the same DCPI in their system, so those 25 Cyclops could be any figure from that wave, or any figure from Marvel legends that are still using the same DCPI.
>>

Sorry, not DCPI but SKU, but same thing.

This is actually still my fav Wolverine ML.
>>
>>6312874
definitely not saying it's perfect, but I love that sculpt for Wolverine and the base it comes with is actually a cool touch. I was buying SICs and Marvel Legends at this point of time, it's crazy to look back at how toys with decent articulation were actually getting diorama like bases on a regular basis back then.
>>
>>6312649
Beast and Beta Ray Bill come to mind. A lot of the Spider-Man Classics too - Sandman, Scorpion, Doc Ock.
>>
>>6312801
If you like Yondu, you should love Star-Lord.
>>
>>6312649
I only have one Toybiz ML, Man-Thing. I only got into this line pretty recently so while I saw Marvel Legends as a kid and thought they were cool my parents never got me any.

I'd say Man-Thing is holds up well enough, but I'd also definitely welcome a new figure whether it's a Legend or a Select. Hoping that leak that claims Man-Thing is the Netflix wave BAF is true but I really, really doubt it.
>>
>>6312649
Ultimate Captain America. None of the Hasbro ones have been any good apart from the MCU ones.
>>
>>6312896
I saw him at the store, but I decided to get Yondu over him because there were like 5 Star Lords and only one Yondu. The head sculpt looked amazing. I'm really happy with how far realistic head sculpts have come in the past few years.
>>
>>6312773
The old Toy biz figure was pretty good. The only (well, not only...) issue was the dome wasn't round cause of the action feature. I would very much love a new, no action feature Mysterio, too.

Yeah, he's great. I don't have a single isuue with the head.

>>6313126
>Silver Surfer with the magnetic board

Actually the re-release of this figure is better IMO. It was an exclusive that came out during the FF2 movie release. It doesn't have the magnetic feet gimmick but the gimmick really doesn't work well anyways. The paint on the exclusive is much better. It doesn't have the odd blue shading.
>>
>>6313126
I had to make my own on a current body.
>>
>>6313167
it looks good
>>
>>6313167
damn auto rotate!
>>
>>6313167
Vision, huh?
What was the painting process? I've got a Vision, and I've been thinking of popping it all apart and doing a primer that bonds to plastic, then metallic silver spray, but I'm worried it'll all still chip.
>>
I always see Transformers fans talking about "mold degradation" is that a thing with Legends? If so how the fuck has the Bucky Cap mold not turned into dust by now?
>>
>>6313178
My first real attempt. I recommend priming (I didn't and needed at least a dozen coats) and sanding, especially the ankles and shoulders. I touched up with silver sharpie.

I'm gonna use silver spray on my BAF Ultron for sure.
>>
>>6313195

Mold degradation happens because even though injection molds are made from steel, after thousands or even millions of castings the hot plastic and pressure will slightly deform the metal. The sharpness of details may become soft, and joints can become loose because they become a millimeter too wide or too tight. It pretty much happens to any injection (plastic) mold that is in use for a very long time, and the only real "fix" is to cut a new mold from the original template. Which of course makes production more expensive again, so they might skip out on it.
>>
>>6313167
>owning Eminem on vinyl

>>
>>6312649
Beast, Iron Fist, Bishop, Abomination, Beta Ray Bill, Series 6 Wolverine, Colossus, and yeah like that other anon said, most of the Spider-Man Classics; Hob/Green Goblin, Sandman, Scorpion
But seriously though the BAFs are where it's at.

>>
>>6313257
>Which of course makes production more expensive again, so they might skip out on it.
they need to bit the bullet and make new knee molds because they sucked for years my wasp is total shit from the knees.
>>
>>6313348
Making a new mold or even reworking the tolerances of an existing mold is often a large chunk of the production cost because these molds require precision up to hundredths of a millimeter...

...and you know how Hasbro is about that sort of money.

>>
>>6313348

Plastic molding comes down to a pretty simple equation.

The start-up cost to design and cut the molds is very high but they are durable and capable of being used for a long time. Because of the high start-up cost companies usually try to make the absolute most of each mold, often using it beyond the point where they shouldn't, or using it for somewhat unsuitable things (the infamous opportunistic repaint or black repaint or whatever). Hasbro probably just shrugged and decided the mold had a few more figures in it.
>>
>nobody mentioning Ghost Rider and his friends
Also, Hulkbuster, Ultron, X23, practically all the Wolverines, Dr Doom, Wendigo/Sasquatch, Mr Sinister,..... almost all of them hold up today or are better.

Hasbro's stuff is so trashy or cheap.

>>
>>6313446
>>6313450
Look at that overall sculpt, not just the face but ALL of it. Toybiz could not do female body's outside of the rare fluke like invisable woman.
That hair is just, way too softly sculpted and looks like melted chocolate, that enitre torso looks like a bat kitbash with the midriff looking like it came from a different scale in a vain attempt to imitate an hourglass teenage figure.
ONLY the arms and legs work, everything else looks fucked.
It's like a bad custom that made it to mass retail, it's not even a good man-ish looking X23 face either.
It looks like if Gambet had his entire body crushed, rebuilt, and he became a drag queen after growing his hair out, and dressed as X-23 for Halloween.

Plus I love putting sunglasses on him to make him look like a pornstar.
>>
>>6313328
>Hob/Green Goblin
I used to agree but I'd argue the new Green Goblin is just the slightest bit better than the older one.
You could argue all day which one has the better headsculpt but the hands on the old Green Goblin figure are just really bad looking. From the odd finger joints to the permanently glued in pumpkin bomb. Also his ab joint is really weak, only having one crunch forward and nothing else. The only advantage the old one has, outside of headsculpt which is subjective, is that the hips have a wider range outward which is admittedly nice for glider poses.

I'd also say the same for Hobgoblin but unlike the Green Goblins, where both headsculpts are good in their own way, Hasbro's Hobgoblin headsculpt is definitely inferior. Well maybe not the sculpt itself but the color chosen for the "skin" just doesn't work.

Hey guys

If you ordered anything from the Homecoming wave from Amazon, it's letting me click 'buy it again' and add them to my cart right now

I got tombstone, homemade Spidey, cosmic and vulture. I'm not sure if moon Knight or beetle can be added, but if you ordered one of them and need one that I got, I'd help you get one and visa versa.

Also, guys Amazon is letting you rebuy stuff, hurry

The one thing I like about new Marvel Legends is the new hip joints, with the ball at the hip and the cut at the thigh. Not quite as posable as the Toybiz ballhinges, but look better sculpt wise.
>>
>>6313809
If they did, they'd have to do it like movie vulture, where the BAF is his arms or something.

Compared to any other Ock design it'll take less new parts. Any generic male body, new head, wrist pieces, and then some tentacles.
I'd prefer almost any other Doc Ock but it's better than nothing. Not to mention the minimal new parts it'd take might mean it won't even be a BAF if we're lucky.

And a classic Ock would almost be guaranteed because Hasbro would want to reuse those tentacles to make sure they get their money's worth.

As always, it's just you guys complaining it doesn't look like "muh kyyyotypie"
The figure just looks like an above average girl and that's how MLs have always been. It's always been real life people looking, never actually based on any art minus the oddball like Coipel Thor.
Little girls have thin bodies and you're complaining about that? "not kyooot enough!"

And to even comment about the hair just shows you've never actually seen it in person.

Just got Angela at Walmart for a decent price. Surprisingly fun figure! It's a shame about the elbows, but at least she has one good swording wrist.

Speaking of, her hands pop out. Interesting. I should find some better hands I can give her. I've used revoltech hands before in wrist holes like that to great effect, anybody know a good source of nice, cheap, posable hands like that?
>>
>>6314166
mine can barely hold anything if the weapons arent placed a certain way, and i hate how her skirt thing is a separate part
>>
>>6314169
I took one look at her... uh... golden things and just put them away, it's all about that sword for me.

You might wanna tighten her grip up. Heat up her hands and put something thin in her grip, then wrap a rubber band or a wire twist-tie around it and let it set. Given how thin the hilt of her blade is, I'd use a bambo skewer.
>>
>>6314144

Why is mantis the BAF? Wouldn't have made more sense for it to be Death's head II?
>>
>>6314181
>it'll be a year this august
>>
>>6314161

I only want the shelfwarmers from this wave, IE Warlock and DHII. This'll be an easy and cheap one to collect.
>>
>>6314201
Because the movie just came out, making Mantis more desireable.
Thus, by making her a BAF, people will spend their cash on the peg-warmers to get her pieces.

Sure they might re-sell them, but hasbro still gets your cash. It's actually kinda smart.
That being said, I kinda only want DH2, Adam, and Ex Nihilo from this set.
>>
>>6313821
>>
>>6314105
It's not just that it's thin, it's that it's horrible and disjointed and doesn't look at all human.

Also, while there are definitely MLs that are just generic faces made to look vaguely like the character they're based on if you squint, that's far from the case for all of them. Plenty of MLs are based on actual art. That goes for both Hasbro's and Toybiz'.

Why are you so valiantly defending such an awful figure. Did you sculpt it or something?
>>
>>6314201
Pretty sure Death's Head II uses the same base mold as Colossus, which was a standard release figure. Apparently bucks that originate as a single release aren't allowed to be made into BAFs later on. Only entirely new figures, and figures that re-use old BAF bodies.

So instead of just not including Ex Nihilo or Death's Head II in this wave, making Mantis a regular figure, and having something else be the BAF, we get another wave with a BAF that has no business being one.
>>
>>6313902
Y'know, the more I see the design, the less I hate it. Give it pizza time spiderman buck with a tentacle backpack and a new headsculpt. Done. But it needs sturdy thick bendy tentacles like toybiz at the bare minimum. None of this static pose tendril shit like Agent Venom. Posable claws if budget allows.

>>6314105
Not those anons but I actually like the sculpt itself (as the prototype would show, it could look nice if done up right). Rather I think the old Toybiz style joints actually end up marring her already thin frame. It's in that aspect that I feel like it doesn't hold up as well as it could have.

>>6314212
That's not true.

Apparently Mantis required a lot of new body parts being made for the figure and Hasbro couldn't justify releasing her as a stand-alone figure. Making her a build a figure means they can justify making a new mold with limited re-use potential down the line

>>
>>6315177
Possibly the most ghetto option if you don't have any other way to stand them, however

If you have extra wire hangers, wire cutters, and a little ingenuity, you can chop off the end bits and make it the appropriate height and make your own stands with them.
I'd saw use a metal filer to file down the edges because the ends will be pretty sharp and may end up scraping some paint.
>>
>>6315417
It may not be /entirely/ true, but it has to have some level of truth.
They could have used any other female body mold or retooled bits from Gamora.
Though your reasoning is entirely valid also, I could definitely see that as another deciding factor.

>>6315525
Possibly. The ends that are cut come out sort of jagged, and depending where where you place the figure, could potentially scratch it. So it would probably be wise, if you are going to use this method, to scrape or file down the ends so they become a bit softer.
And also wear gloves, seriously. This shit seems a little dangerous so I don't really recommend this unless you're actually out of options and don't wanna spend cash.

I'm teaching myself how to paint figures and minis. Anybody have any ideas on what kind of paint to use as a wash on the leather bits? I was thinking of black, but I hear that's a bad idea, so maybe a dark brown? I'm also planning on hitting the fittings and furnishings on his various bits with some silver, like the buckles on his katana harness or the buttons on his pouches.

I customized everything you mentioned plus I glued the katana sheaths together. For the leather bits I used a brown wash, using some cheap acrylic from a paint kit. Any brand paint will work for the wash, just make sure to use acrylic instead of enamel (enamel won't dry properly and will remain sticky). For the silver bits, I picked up a nice bottle of Citadel acrylic paint. I used Testors enamel at first, but it never dried and I had to paint over everything.

All you're doing is making it obvious that you're jut nitpicking at any little thing because you know you only dislike it because it doesn't look like the comics.

> Plenty of MLs are based on actual art
Copiel Thor. Campbell/McFarlane Spiderman. Maybe sorta that Hasbro Punisher with the green face paint and skull (Max).
Who else?

No, XMen Blue Team Cyclops doesn't look like Jim Lee sculpted him. No, Punisher with bandana doesn't look like Jim Lee's art either.

>Why are you so valiantly defending such an awful figure. Did you sculpt it or something?
No, i just don't understand why people dislike her. Well, i do, because the same reasons that have popped up over the past 5 years or so is basically just "chola." Seems a little weird that it's only now you guys seem to have something else to say its bad.

Taste is subjective, and you have poor taste.
That X-23 does not hold up to modern standards. It's spindly, ill-proportioned, sloppily painted, and has bad sculpting throughout.
>>
>>6315608
I like this effect... plus, hey, X-branding is always important.

I was thinking, would it be appropriate/possible to put some red on those scabbards? He's got lots of straps all along them, but it's all the same solid black. I was first wondering if I should paint them brown to match his belts and pouches, but now as I look at them I'm thinking they could stand to be red.

Cyclops is great and what do you mean "Bummed I missed Cyclops." he shouldn't be too hard to find. BrickSeek is quite helpful.

Also, worst case scenario, buy the complete Warlock wave off of eBay and sell the legends you don't want.
>>
>>6316154
She looks good as you can see. She feels clean and sturdy, although her long hair and separated belt/skirt piece make her a bit annoying to pose, as you can barely grab her torso without some moving piece getting in your way (on the fun side you'll find that the most convenient way to handle the figure is by grabbing her by the boobs).

I also wish she had double-jointed elbows so that she could easily rest her left hand on the hilt of her seathed sword like McFarlane's was able to do.

Speaking of, Warlock is really nice. I know the paintjob is simple, but it's pretty amazing in person. His knees and elbows are pure garbage, but somehow they manage to not really hold him back. I'm thinking he might be my favorite baf in a while once I finish him.

Their Prof X is a really good figure. I wish they didn't just re-use the movie-verse chair. I think Hasbro will just use the chameleon/coulson down the line (if it's a green suit Im down)

First Appearance Iron Man is really unique, mask off is kinda...eh, but I think overall works well.

I went ahead and did it just now, and I think it turned out great for 5 minutes of work. It's hard to actually fuck anything up as long as you don't drill all the way into the joint.

> shitty fucking paint.
Except it isn't. It just uses less. Everything else is perfectly applied, just like Toy Biz's MLS usually were.
They aren't like Hasbro who puts a perfectly amazing sculpt being ruined by derpy paint apps. But when you get a Hasbro figure with paint apps that are well applied, albiet way minimal compared to TB's, the figure still looks great.

You're basically judging a bad low res photos on the figure looking bad. In person, its fantastic, because you get all the details in 3d to fap over.

Any update on that X-Men 2 pack?
>>
>>6316925

let it go, man. I'm judging the figure solely compared to modern toy standards. it does not hold up in any aspect.

the face is sub-par, even when compared to other ToyBiz era figures
the hair sculpt hinders head articulation
the joints are not integrated well into the sculpt
the paint is sloppy and is too thickly applied in spots
the pliable plastic used for the claws on the hand are an atrocity
extremely limited ankle rockers which amount to almost no ankle tilt at all

the only redeeming thing about the figure is the flip out toe blades, which i'd like to see in a much needed update of this character.
>>
>>6316922
not even that other guy.
>custom,

>>
>>6316932
>compared to modern toy standards.
>the face is sub-par
Except it isn't. See: http://i.4cdn.org/toy/1494128593483.jpg
>the hair sculpt hinders head articulation
And what modern figure with long hair isn't hindered? Figures like Angela have to be modified to get better range.
>the paint is sloppy
Complete BS. Toy Biz always had far better QC than Hasbro.
> the pliable plastic used for the claws on the hand are an atrocity
Same can and is always said about every Wolverine since the beginning of time. Hence people talking about replacing the plastic on the current Wolverine (and replacing the head with a Toy Biz's Wolverine).
>extremely limited ankle rockers which amount to almost no ankle tilt at all
Fair point, but it has more articulation than the Hasbro figures.
>the joints are not integrated well into the sculpt
Maybe the pegs on the elbows, but everywhere else is fine. The pegs on the elbows aren't any worse than the tumors on a Figma or Revoltech, modern toylines.

So given all these things, X23 is ahead of Hasbro's MLs. Easily on par with other modern lines like DCC, NECA or Figma because of better/more articulation, more/better paint, and higher QC.

To pretend it's lower is just a laugh, considering how many features Toy Biz was putting into these toys way back in 2006. Hasbro's stuff look like cheap Mattel toys compared to Toy Biz's. It puts other modern collectors lines to shame.
>>
>>6316947
>Except it isn't.
Again, you're referring to a custom painted figure, not the original toy you're arguing for.
>And what modern figure with long hair isn't hindered?
Those figures are terrible too. Doesn't give X-23 a free pass
>Toy Biz always had far better QC than Hasbro.
Yet, it doesn't make the paint for X-23 any less sloppy and too thickly applied.
>Same can and is always said about every Wolverine since the beginning of time.
Again, X-23 doesn't get a free pass because other figures are also terrible. Besides, Hasbro has improved the claws with all current Wolverine figures with the use of hard plastics.
>but everywhere else is fine.
Specifically the hip joints for ToyBiz figures always stand out as bulbous and unnatural looking.

You're hilarious. I'd like to see you argue for the ToyBiz Scarlet Witch, which I'm sure you're in love with as well.
>>
>>
>>6316953
>Again, you're referring to a custom painted figure, not the original toy you're arguing for.
People were saying that the sculpt was bad. Paint jobs highlights the sculpted detail. Like with HAsbro figures, lacking so much in paint, they still look good-great because the scult is good - great. Gonna be hypocritical just to stay on point?
>Those figures are terrible too.
LOL, so all modern figures with long hair aren't any better? More hypocrisy.
>X-23 any less sloppy
There isn't any slop. Maybe you're talking about how you hate dry brushing and shading? That's actually a really nice feature, something we've seen Hasbro fail at.
If you don't like that sort of paint technique, okay, but that's just your opinion. It's actually an extra feature and usually well done, and i do want to see it come back. It's what makes Toy Biz's look like collector figures and Hasbro's looking too toy-like.
>X-23 doesn't get a free pass because other figures are also terrible.
But you said you were comparing it to modern toys and if they're horrible today as they were yesterday.... Besides, it's an easy fix with hot water, both new and old.
>the hip joints for ToyBiz figures always stand out as bulbous and unnatural looking
Ok, fair point, but they usually don't stick out, such as on X23, and allows for better poseability. something i'd like ot see return.

And this is your only point that you didn't switch around because you love moving your goalpost to fit your hypocritical arguments, just ot nitpick a figure that you don't like the sculpt on because she's not a 10/10 like on certain covers.
>>
>>6316976

Any they were right. Keep referring to that custom that ToyBiz had no part in.
>More hypocrisy.
I don't think you understand the meaning of the term.
>There isn't any slop.
The detailing on the wrist and shin guards and belt is applied too thickly and sloppily.
>But you said you were comparing it to modern toys
And modern toy companies have improved claws that aren't a floppy mess as well as joint systems that compliments the sculpt of figures without hindering articulation. This is evident with most Japanese and American companies.
>and allows for better poseability.
So why aren't those types of joints still being used today? Please show me a figure released within the last year with those hideous hip joints.

Your 10/10 waifu argument isn't a valid point in regards to looking at the figure from an objective standpoint, so you can just give it up.

I have no attachment to the character, don't care for her, I don't know what she's supposed to look like from the comics to other media. The only exposure I've had to her is the ugly child actor from the live action movie, which turns out, is still better looking that the ToyBiz figure.

But keep throwing that point into every reply, like it has some significance.
>>
>>6314105

Why can't you admit that you have poor taste in toys and women? If that ugly as fuck ToyBiz figure looks like an above average woman in your eyes, you should probably move from wherever you live, because you're surrounded by some ugly women.

My guess is that your sister who you jerk it to looks like the ToyBiz X-23. No need to be defensive, but you need to understand that she's never gonna touch your penis.
>>
>>6316980
He was saying he's judging the figure based on modern standards and suddenly he NOPES right from the start when he realizes modern toys have the same issues.
He's trying to move the goalpost everywhere, constantly shifting his argument, because he doesn't really have a complaint against the figure itself. He just doesn't like it because it's not based on whatever random art he likes, so he's making shit up to find another reason why it's bad.

>>6317009
>too thickly and sloppily.
None of the paint is too thick. The gold bans are sorta sloppy, sure, but it's on par with anything made by Hasbro. Almost everything else is applied perfectly though.
The shading, the eyes, the hair, the zipper paint, it's something you'll only find as neatly done on higher end figures. They also aren't perfect, but that's just how it and you're just nitpicking.

> modern toy companies have improved claws that aren't a floppy mess
Just shows you haven't bought these figures to compare. I can't comment on Old Man Logan, but straight out of the package the claws aren't any more or less floppy. If yours came bent, it's an easy fix and they won't "flop" over time. Warped things stay warped because that's how they're positioned for a long time. Gravity doesn't affect them.

>So why aren't those types of joints still being used today?
Because Hasbro is cheap and adding a ball joint with a cut at the hip is cheaper. These are features Hasbro cut from their own toys when they started lowering the budget on their figures across the board.
It has nothing to do with the joints being better or worse. It's purely a budget choice.

>an objective standpoint,
Says the guy moving the goalpost.
>>
>>6317009
>Any they were right. Keep referring to that custom that ToyBiz had no part in.
Almost forgot about this ignorant bit when passing over your hypocritical standards

That figure is the prototype made by Toy Biz. IT's the same sculpt we got. Only the paint differs... and i guess the arms not having articulation
>>
>>6317032
>So why aren't those types of joints still being used today?
I'm not talking about Hasbro specifically. No company uses those joints on modern toys for a reason.

>>>6317040 No company uses those joints on modern toys for a reason.
Are you retarded?
A lot of joints used by companies are because they hold patents or never used that type of joint in the first place. Revoltechs never used joints like that, because they use their patented Revoltech joints. GI Joes never used joints like that because they use their patented whateverjoint they use.

The only companies who even used those Toy Biz type joints don't exist anymore or used something else for budget reasons (Hasbro).

Speaking of which, where's that guy that said that HAsbro and Toy Biz made more than just a few figures in a comic artists' style?
>>
>>6317049
And checking out the various figures i have out to see if anyone uses joints like that, Hiya does.
>>
>>6317049
I'm not the guy you're arguing with but I can pretty easily shut down your hip joint argument. The old bulbous hip joints suck because they can't move on the X and Y axes simultaneously. You need to rotate the joint manually to move it on the other axis, which is a huge pain.

The true ball hips are a huge improvement on those because they allow for easy freedom of movement while also keeping a more cohesive look to the figure's silhouette. Simple as that.

Also, you ARE theoretically correct that the old bulbous hips did sometimes provide more range. This is because of the limitations of the cup-and-ball system. However, the ability to say, do the splits better doesn't make up for the inconvenience of working with those hip joints, or the ugly look to them.
>>
>>6317061
Oh, and before you bring this up, it IS possible to use those old-type hip joints and move on both axes simultaneously, but it requires the pegs to be mounted horizontally pointing toward the butt. Most figures don't do this because it's hard to make this structurally stable, especially since most figures don't have much of an ass to work with. It's also possible to sorta half-ass it by mounting the joints diagonally, but I haven't seen this very often either and it's still not ideal to work with when posing.
>>
>>6317061
>I can pretty easily shut down your hip joint argument.
The argument that it isn't used anymore because of companies killing liked, disappearing, or being phased out for cheaper options?
You sure proved me wrong, duder.

It's cool how you can't read and don't care to.
>>
>>6317077
Nah, I wasn't intending to talk about that at all, I just quoted that post cause it was your most recent. I was specifically replying to what you said in >>6316976:
>allows for better poseability

I wanted to address that while those joints could theoretically produce better poseability, they were also a horrible pain to manipulate and this is a likely reason why Hasbro moved on to simpler and much more pleasant true balljoints. And of course, true ball hips look better as well, but you already admitted that.

>they don't allow better mobility because it's harder to move
That's a pretty shit argument.
It takes an extra second to position them and that's worth it for the extra poses you can do with them.
>true ball hips look better as well
Sure, but i'd rather them being more poseable.
It's one of the things i hate about Hasbro and their 1:18 line becoming budget as fuck.
>>
>>6317099
You keep trying to restate my argument incorrectly, my dude. I never said what you're implying I did. I said that while the old hips could provide better articulation, they were also a pain to work with. Furthermore, I added that the latter is likely a big part of why those hips are no longer used by Hasbro for the most part.

They also don't add much mobility. True balljoints get just as much moving forward and backwards, the only advantage of the old hips is better side to side motion (as in doing the splits). I don't usually need my toys to do the splits so I don't care, and turning around the hip joints could be really tough/annoying at times (especially on the Iron Man 2 line, which you coincidentally posted here). And for the record, not sure why you posted that War Machine as an example, since it had absolutely horrible hip range on both axes.

No. It's the worst of the bunch. Spidey is worth spending a little more than that because it's a really well-done figure. Cap is maybe worth the $25 because he can at least pull some poses. Iron Man is essentially a statue with moveable arms unless you have a flight stand sturdy enough to take the weight and dimensions. Awful, awful hips on the things.

Amazing.

Just go back to saying you hate the sculpt, because your mental gymnastics are awful. At least hating on the sculpt for not looking like your fap material is actually a good reason to dislike the figure.
I too would like the figure to look more like the comic, but the ML line has rarely ever done the figures to look like the comics. There's been only 3 of 4 figures that look like they came straght out of the comics.

>claiming MLs are like the art
>claiming modern toylines dont have poseability problems from oversculpt
>claiming modern toylines don't have ankle problems
>claiming extra articulation doesn't count if other articulation isn't good
>claiming prototypes of the toy are customs
>claiming the mold isn't based on the prototype
>newer is better fallacy about the hip joints
>saying paint is too thick despite not being thick
>changing argument from sculpt being ass to paint being ass when confronted with prototype showing all the details being highlighted
>ignoring the fact that unpainted plastic with strong lighting will hide details
>pretending thin lines are perfect even on expensive high end toys and that Hasbro's do too
on and on and on
It's been constantly shifting, because you can't admit you hate it solely for the sculpt not being the 10/10 girlie of your dreams and are angry that someone is fine with an above average looking face.

Some people don't like how the crazy articulation breaks up the scuplt but I personally love it. Not too many figures that can achieve a pose like this.
>>

Yeah, the Chinese ones are likely bootlegs or what was explained to me here as an "overrun" where the factory illegally produces more figures using the same materials or processes. For instance, I bought a Jubilee from China for $40 and the only signs that it wasn't legit were that it was pre-assembled and the neck socket inside the head has gray primer in it. Otherwise, it's perfect--thought it's worth noting her paint apps are sparse and simple.

Ultimate Peter is $10 on Walmarts site
Miles too
>>
>>6319052
I'm the last Anon that said this but really, get Miles and Peter from Walmart with store pickup, it's like $21 total
>>
>>6319339
>>6319344
I'd do that but that doesn't include shipping and there's none in stock t my local walmarts, it's cheaper on amazon
>>
>>6319379
they can ship it to your local walmart so you can pick it up there, free of any shipping charges
>>
>Stop by BestBuy because apparently they have Star Wars 40th Anniversary toys
>all card backs are bent to hell
>no R2
>spot a Deadpool 12" for $50
>decide to wait to see if price will eventually drop
>get home, look at eBay
>TRU 12" Deadpool $41.99 free shipping
>it's also on their site
This bodes well.

>I'd do terrible things for a Motormouth figure.
For or to?
>>
>>6319262
Looks nice although I'm n
>>6319418
Doesn't free pick up require it to be in stock at the desired walmart?
>>
>>6319262
If I felt the head looked better and the mid-calf wasn't stupidly broken up like that I probably would have gotten Revo Spidey. I hate the knees, too, but probably could have lived with them if it weren't for the calf and head sculpt.

Glad other people like it, and very much respect their right to do so, but it's just not for me.

i ordered 3 of the civil war 3 packs last christmastime and no i wasn't charged for anything other than the figures themselves. They even automatically refunded me for this stupid Spider-Man mask that was bundled with them that i didn't pick up.
>>
>>6319493
There's two different methods, ship to store and pick up today. Ship to store will ship to closest store for free while pick up today will have some pleb at the store try to find the merchandise in store to reserve for you.

Forgive me revotech anon, I did not finish my sentence. I like the way it loks but those exposed pegs kinda bother me. Still I'll look into it cause it looks pretty good.

>>6319517
>>6319518
It doesn't give me an option for free pick up for some reason

Any updates on the new Mantis wave?

I'm excited about DH2 too, but I'm really hoping they give us #1 at some point, as well.
>>
>>6319819
Agreed. Between Stryfe and Colossus, and DHII, they should have enough choice in base molds to get it started.

Is this real?

It's a colossus with armor pieces over it, a cape, and a new head.

It's an official Hasbro kitbash.

After getting Star Lord a while back I wasn't sure which if any of the other movie Guardians I had to have. Except Rocket, knew I had to get him.

But after seeing it last night, I've gotta get all of them. Already picked up Yondu and Drax earlier today, now to wait for the Mantis wave. I sure hope Mantis isn't too hard to complete without buying the whole wave, but I really don't see too many people buying Ex Nihilo for instance and selling off the BAF piece.
>>
I'm pretty new to collecting legends stuff but went nuts and completed a lot of BAFs. I'm noticing a lot of them are from 2016, how many waves do they usually make a year? For some reason I thought it was only a couple but I guess not

You didn't pick the right Spiderman then, or you're looking for the pickup option too soon during checkout (it seems like you have to soon but you don't). Literally google "Walmart marvel legends Spiderman" and it should be the first thing that comes up. Put it in your cart, sign in, act like you're buying it and on one of the last screens click on the shipping option and change it to store pick up.
>>
Looks like some store called Popplooza is selling the new wave already. You guys might wanna hurry.
>>
I just noticed new star-lord's guns are packaged next to his hands, but not actually in them so as to not fuck up his grip. They're learning.
>>
Heads up, dorkside just changed the banner of their marvel legends section of the site to the vulture wave. Keep your eyes peeled for pre orders soon.

Someone finally got him and his build is insane. Glad I stuck with the 2-pack Vulture. He's just too big and complex for my collection.

Not him, but I hated it too.

The only reason it worked at all becuase every single character that wasn't Ock acted like a complete idiot. Spider-Man kills a guy and everyone just sorta shrugs and says "he's having an off day I guys"

That being said, I used to like Slott, and got the New ways to die arc signed.
