The problem was probably less that they weren't worth the price and more that far less people (especially children) could afford sets of that size. The main characters being the most expensive thing in the theme doesn't seem like it would do the popularity of a character-based theme any good.

If you buy a cheap Nexo Knights set, you get some tiny vehicle that you can run around and make stupid noises with without ever questioning its place in the story or what it is even supposed to be.
If you buy a protector or creature, 100% of what you get is the character and all features of the set are designed around playing with it as a character. Protips for hands on a ~30cm biped build: you can use most of the exo-force/minibonkles arms as fingers, but most times it will not have an attach for a weapon, if you don't mind a little unrealistic hand you can use side attachs from old "hands" and use the central one for weapons.
On larger builds (40+ cm) you van go full axonn/Udume modded hands and no one will mind.

Thanks. Currently stands at about 35 cm. This pic from like 8 months ago shows what the hands used to look like. I definitely want to keep the trans-orange claws as fingers, but I think I might have to reconstruct the lower arms entirely at this point. The trick is finding a way to do that and make sure he can still hold the hammer or staff.

Cracking and stress marks, however, are pretty damn common but not as bad as with old Bionicle joints.

So I made myself a mockup of the stand with some old bricks. Just a basic 2x2 tower about 22 units high with a 4 unit high 4x4 ring around the base with the whole thing on a 6x10 plate. Plugged it into his back with a pin and wouldn't you know, it works perfectly. He can't rock around anymore and the weight is now being distributed to a third leg so there's a significant reduction of pressure on the knees.

Unless you want some ccbs parts to break on you down the road, I'd suggest something similar for your JtO Makuta.

Hey guys I've been lurking lego/bionic let threads for months and I just want to give a blanket thank you to everyone contributing pics, I don't usually comment on them but I look at everything shared here.

I grew up loving lego and didnt realize until i started reading these threads how much bionicle i had as well. I really didn't like the CCBS, most characters end up looking super derpy. TO'Day I took a plunge and got K2SO, Capt Phasma, and the imperial death trooper. I'm really surprised at how much I enjoyed building them but desu the end product still looked kinda shitty. I have broken them all down and am gonna try building some mechs to put mini figures in the top of

God damn, It's been 8 years or so since last touched a Bionicle. I miss screwing around with these and seeing what my imagination would churn out. I recently downloaded LDD and have been trying to create stuff in that. But it's not the same.
Where do you guys get your parts? Do you just buy sets from the store or do you order individual pieces online? Say I wanted to get back into it, what would the recommendation be?

If you're going to search for Bonkle/ccbs on Bricklink, you need to know couple of things.

First off, if there's something you absolutely need, make a wanted list. Hell, make one regardless. That way you can search for a store that has most of that stuff.

Second, the way those parts are organized on BL is a fucking mess. Three big categories are Bionicle, Hero Factory and Large Figure Part. Bionicle has G1 specific parts, with most of g2 mixed in. Hero Factory has CCBS, as well as all the crap from earlier waves. LFP is mostly random CCBS related stuff with junk like Galidor and Knights Kingdom mixed in. Other categories to consider are Kanohi mask (has all those, surprisingly) and everything Technic.

Lastly, you probably understand that the site works like eBay, in that all sellers have their own stock, and there's no way to combine orders. Also the site design is total ass and takes some time getting used to

Gali on the other hand has gotten a major upgrade, with a lot of the once-blue pieces replaced with light blue ones, and I also tried to alude to her feminity by giving her thicker (T H I C C) thighs.
Also of note is that every Mata now has a classic ball-socket on its chest, except for Gali, I thought it fitting to reverse it.

Ones listed as metallic gold on BL are generally more expensive than ones listed as copper. Because the actual shade of plastic is bit funky, good number of sellers list them as copper. I can guarantee you that every copper one is actually gold from mask packs. That's how I got mine.

Probably a coincidence, but if you group the Uniters based on their Creature type you can see some similiarities between them:

>Flying type (Lewa and Tahu)
Both have a lot of metallic armor (silver for Lewa, gold for Tahu) compared to their Master forms, leaving little space for their primary color. Both have their torso shell color match their metallic armor.
Both wield twin blades as weapons. Uxar and Ikir have similar builds.

>Defense/armor type (Kopaka and Onua)
Both have a lot more of their main color compared to the other 6. Both have their torso shell match their primary color, the only ones out of the 6.
Both wield weapons with launchers. Melum and Terak have similar looks.

>Attack/tailed type (Gali and Pohatu): both gain a new secondary color compared to their Master forms (orange and dark tan respectively) and use a lot of it in their armor.
Both wield bladed spears with something added to them.

You kind of get the feeling they were designed in pairs. Also, if you pick one Toa per pair you can form the two G1 Kaita trios, but I doubt that was on purpose.

Sudoku is 9x9 number puzzle made with 3x3 squares that you have to fill with the numbers 1-9, to where only one instance of a number is in the same square, line, and row. Any and all memes relating to it don't really matter to me.
