There is no Civ General
Seems to be a lot of them popping up now days. Some of them are even pretty good.
Feel free to discuss and share civs.
Not entirely true. We always get good conversation going when the OP isn't blatant bait. I bet if someone were to actually make one we could get a lot of people in it.
Everyone's just ignoring this one, as they should.
....No myrm, just no. This is basic grammar. "Why?" is a correct sentence. "For what reason?" and "For what purpose?" are correct sentences.
"For why?" takes several seconds to sink in before you start suspecting the person does not know english as a first language. Or a second language, for that matter.
Implying what? I seriously don't know what you mean by that every time you say it. Is it some meme that was popular before?
And I'm going to skip ahead and actually answer the question, because I know that you don't care enough about it to ask me again, and I know some people will actually want to know.
The link explains, by Myrm's own words, what it is he's trying to accomplish, why he's trying to do it and, after having other methods suggested and rejected, how Myrm intends to go about accomplishing those goals.
Holy fuck that link.
I lack the words to explain my anger.
Even after careful explanation as to why the civ pic blows goats...he still defends those abstract ink blots.
I really want to punch someone over that.
WHAT IN TERRAS NAME AM I FUCKING LOOKING AT?
Okay civ bros. Lets create a brand new civ.
Is this civ engineered like golems, or did it evolve like man, or some other perspective...
What are unique challenges and assets for this group?
Does this civ exist alongside traditional fantasy races?
My thoughts... A parasitic race could be cool if kept apart from vampires. I like alternative food supplys or new requirements for survival. Maybe a mutual symbiotic race created by a god qith really cool lore. Like'when the lord of the rift realized that an orc man had fallen in love with a gnome woman, he took action to protect them from their respective races fury. The Saemtium and Cyroil races were created, adapted from the first twos genetic code. The Cyroil are a ethereal being with an ambigous shape. The Saemtium are pale beings of an earthen make. They can be shaped by the cyroil beings. In turn, cyroil gain their sustenance though the consumption of the saemtium
Any ways, I qant to hear thoughts on this.
>Is this civ engineered like golems, or did it evolve like man, or some other perspective...
Castlefolk are like the tsukumogami; they gain sentience and mobility after 100 years.
>What are unique challenges and assets for this group?
Challenges: they have to do nearly constant renovations if they decide to adventure.
Assets: High defense!
>Does this civ exist alongside traditional fantasy races?
If you want.
So some thoughts...
What if intead of a castle person it was a turtle city like civ, and functioned as playable setting. Either auquatic turtle, or land tortoise. The creature naturall attracts other creatures to come and live on its shell. The creature grows to accomodate the civ at a reasonable pace, and the more creatures it houses it gains different buffs or maybe even more intellegence. Unique challenges would be food gathering/harvesting and wars with both stationary and other massive creature civs, not to mention decisions and diplomacy involving both the civ, and its base of operations.
