There is no Civ General
Seems to be a lot of them popping up now days. Some of them are even pretty good.
Feel free to discuss and share civs.
Its nothing at all like other civ charts.
It almost offends me just seeing it.
Anyone ever seen it used?
How the fuck do you have a civ of housethings?
That's just an awful example of a civ chart op.
This is a daily occurrence. You'll get used to it.
He thinks his absurdist wankery is THE ANSWER to solving the (admittedly) LOTR and DnD oversaturated fantasy genre problem
Take your shitposting to >>>/b/ .
1. It is exactly like other civilization charts, if you bother to think abstractly for a moment.
2. Cute pictures shouldn't offend you.
3. Yes, a few times.
4. Just like any other fantasy race. Use your imagination.
You're preaching to the preacher here. This guy has a long history of trolling up the Civ threads. Just wait for Crog to show up, he has a copypasta explaining this guys insanity.
Ever hear of Myrmidon, Dadaragon or Uguumon? All the same art school jerkoff
Incorrect. That is someone else.
It fosters a bunch of shitty habits and tropes that ruin fantasy as a whole. It lead to the cancer that is World of Warcraft.
Obviously that bloody abstract abortion isn't drawing much support here.
Perhaps you can rework it a bit?
If those civs do not spark interest, try using other "abstract" races.
>If those civs do not spark interest, try using other "abstract" races.
I tried. Nobody liked those either.
OK. That pic, is a lanternman?
My questions: do they eat? If you crack their glass 'head', do they die? Can they control their light? Are they living, or more like an animated object? Are they stupid?
Can you describe them?
Because I can't. I can make shit up, but I don't have a baseline to even tweak and make work.
How would you explain a baseline for that race? Without some sort of stats?
>My questions: do they eat?
They require fuel, be it oil, gas, or kindling.
>If you crack their glass 'head', do they die?
They would go into a coma-like state until they are repaired. It would take total bodily destruction to kill them.
>Can they control their light?
How do you mean?
>Are they living, or more like an animated object?
Somewhere between the two.
>Are they stupid?
No more so than anyone else.
>How would you explain a baseline for that race?
Basically human but with more resilience to damage.
>The point was, what I make up, will differ from the next cm.
Yes, that's a feature not a bug. See my point here:
Yes, I suppose they could.
Yes, that seems appropriate.
Yes, but it puts them into a comatose state. It isn't advisable.
I suppose it is.
Putting boobies in it might draw more. :P
Quick, someone give me an easy to use tools to make maps, and/or link me to a thread that has some more basic stuff of what to do as a DM while the players wax about strategy in the thread waiting for me to post, so I can make one of these fucking lantern civs or something.
My primary issue with this picture is that the creator did not even try to make it playable. When a civ thread is made with this as its base it does not close due to closed mindedness, but rather a lack of planning for how these creatures actually function. Instead of setting up a basic lore + conflict, he wanted us to decide how everything should work. We tried and questions about the basic biology of the creatures, or necassary aspects to their survival and were met with 'be creative retard'. That is why this is a shitpost.
