Re-posting from last thread:
Guys, what the fuck is happening with the Parker fight? Is Hughie "definitely not on roids" Fury fighting him or not because I read that he pulled out a couple months ago? I keep seeing rumors of Bellew wanting to fight Parker and Wilder has asked for a unification bout aswell. Very confused.

>I admit, that Ward was better in rematch. I give him credit he did his homework with "A" and showed his professionalism and discipline. But he didn't put an end to our clash. I fought with two people in the ring...
>I will be back!
>>76667897
Hughie Fury pulled out with an """"""""injury"""""""" and Parker ended up fighting a former sparring partner instead. Don't know what he'll do next, but he's the weakest of the titleholders and may have some nice options to weigh. There's no reason for Parker-Fury to happen now unless he wants to hide from lucrative fights.

Guy faded in the first fight and decides to throw more punches in the rematch. Doesn't work the body and was trying to win the fight with ones and twos hoping he could finish him with one punch. Ward took his best punch pretty clean in the first fight, can't afford to headhunt with that being taken in account. Pretty silly game plan, and Ward punished him for it. Ward did his classic grapple fucking, and worked the body and may have even mixed in some lowblows, haven't had to watch the fight again. Kovs so focused on those body shots he got caught with a flush cross. I don't know why he didn't attempt to take a count, but those last shots especially the very last one were fairly close to being illegal. So taking shots from a fellow pugilist like that could just shock you and have you questioning your own spirit. Was a spicy rematch though and I feel bad for whoever has to face Krusher next.

And they're not even - one guys is spread eagle, like this, with his feet up like this. Another guy's on top of him, and they're not even fighting. They're just whispering shit to each other like... (whispering indistinctly). Then out of nowhere, the guy on top starts pummeling the guy on the bottom. He's like... (screaming). Here's what MMA fighting looks like to me. It looks like 2 gay guys are having sex, then out of nowhere, one of them realizes he's not gay!

>>76672345
Name one time that Canelo stepped up and convincingly beat a bigger, more experienced guy than him?
>>76672424
Zero. People overestimate his power. I'm confident Golovkin will beat him. However, I was also confident Ward's faggotry would be exposed and I was wrong. I put hundreds of dollars on Golovkin and want to literally put THOUSANDS but am hesitant due to boxing bullshit (like reffing, judges, etc).

>>76672582

Never mind the fact that the only other controversial officiating Weeks has done was Mayweather-Maidana, and we all know he certainly wasn't biased for Mayweather in that fight.
>>76672486
The only advantage Canelo has is age, his only chance is that Golovkin's age will take effect for this fight. Otherwise Golovkin has no reason to lose other than judges and/or ref favoring Canelo.

Parker's next fight will be Hughie Fury, he is still the mandatory and has to be renegotiated and if they fail to make an agreement as last time it will go to purse bids. Whyte, Wilder, Bellew, whoever, can talk all they like about fighting Parker, but they all know he still has to get through Fury first.
>>76674301
[Fighter X] is mandatory is one of the biggest memes in all of boxing. If it does come off it's because Parker doesn't want to chase the big-money fights yet.

>>76668340
Eddie Hearn said Hughie Fury vs Parker is being discussed for September, still mandatory as has been said. Wilder was offered £5 million to fight Whyte in London. I think Bellew most likely to fight Haye.
>>76675219
>I think Bellew most likely to fight Haye.
the fight so nice they booked it twice.
Dorticos joins Gassiev, Briedis and Wlodarczyk in the cruiserweight WBSS. Kudryashov has indicated that he'd join it too but I don't think it's been officially announced yet
Sounds like it's going to be great even without Usyk and Lebedev
>>76667715
>Manny Pacquiao vs Jeff Horn
someone didn't get the memo of stat padding at least 30+ fights before you start fighting real fights
pac is going to murder him
>>76675576
Lebedev is pretty old now, IIRC -- he'll probably fight a fewer lower tier guys and retire on a win.
BTW, what ever happened to Drozd? He just seemed to disappear.
>>76675665
>pac is going to murder him
Hopefully.
But unfortunately Australia has a habit of bring old champions over and robbing them blind.
>>76675676
I thought Lebedev slightly deserved the decision against Gassiev. I'd been hoping to see a rematch. I still think he's one of the best fighters at the weight
I think injuries have forced Drozd into retirement
I love Usyk but it's a bitch move if he doesn't sign up for this. It'd slightly redeem him if he fought Lebedev while the tourney was ongoing, but it'd still just be one fight compared to the three that the winner of the tourney will have to get through. For me Usyk will lose his #1 position to the winner of the tourney, since he's not lineal anyway
>>76675704
I've never even seen Horn fight. Is he as bad as everyone says?
>>76675045
When did he get a horse leg transplant?
>>76675802
>For me Usyk will lose his #1 position to the winner of the tourney, since he's not lineal anyway
I think Usyk would beat all of them (haven't seen Dorticos, though) and he will probably fight the winner sometime anyway.
>I've never even seen Horn fight. Is he as bad as everyone says?
He's not *bad* but he's certainly not world level. He also doesn't hold a single noteworth victory either.
GGGs already beaten him in the style game. Canelo looks like a used car salesman
was the Ward vs Kovalev hype big in America?
barely any in UK, strange considering it's a pretty GOAT superfight rn.
Oh shit, just seen this. Guess Usyk may be in it after all
Fucking hell, this already shits on the Super Six
Usyk, Gassiev, Briedis, Dorticos, Kudryashov and Wlodarczyk. Who will be the final two? Hopefully Glowacki and maybe some American like Hunter, Tabiti or Cunningham
>>76675978
Cunningham is 40 years old lol.
>>76676022
Still active though and I assume that they will want at least one American. Tabiti would be my preferred choice even though it's a big step up for him
Also, where is the Super Series going to be held? Like the Super Six in different countries?
>>76676129
Yeah, split between America and Europe. I guess Sauerland promotes the European shows while Schaefer promotes the American ones
>>76675978
Maybe someone like Huck and Makabu?
>>76675978
I hope Yoan Pablo Hernandez comes back, he claims not to be retired and this would be the best time to come back.
>>76676258
Huck would be good, even though he's past his best. He has a pretty high profile compared to the others
There were some suggestions that Mike Perez moved down specifically for this, which would be interesting
>>76676273
He's still technically the lineal champion so it would be good to have that on the line
>>76676297
Irish Mike hasn't fought since Povetkin KO'd him.
>>76676297
Perez moving down makes sense. Huck would be a good test for someone like Gassiev and Kudryashov.

Starts in September and is finished after like six or eight months or something. Hope they get some good subs in case of injuries
>>76676464

>>76676487
Agreed but he wants everything in his own backyard despite being a complete nobody
>>76676594
nice, should be spicy
>>76676594
Also, the top four ranked fighters get to choose their opponents for the first round. Not sure whose rankings they will use, but Usyk will undoubtedly get first pick, Gassiev second and Briedis third
Why doesn't Povetkin cut down to cruiser?
He would fuck everyone up desu, unless his age starts to get to him
>>76676637
way less money involved.
>>76676625
Do they pick in order of their rankings? So Usyk picks first, then Gassiev etc.
>>76676637
He could have earlier but he's nearly 40 now and looking pretty lean at 225ish
>>76676690
Yeah think so. If Glowacki joins I think he'd be 4th
>>76676731
I doubt anyone would pick to fight Kudryashov desu, definition of a punchers chance.
>>76676776
tbqh I think he has a really good chance at knocking out Usyk early considering Usyk is
really slow at starting and his chin is questionable

>>76675949
Not really, maybe in the Bay Area. But unless youre a boxing fan, you probably don't even know what happened
>>76676464
>>76676487
Wilder is a clown. Asking why should it be on matchroom's terms when they simple answer is he can't get that much money fighting in America and it's an easier fight than Joshua. I think he's stating the original offer rather the most recent one which is supposed to be 5 million. If it was Bellew he would of done it, he is scared of taking a real fight and getting beat before Joshua.

Very interesting new video from Artorias. It counts the punches landed in Ward-Kovalev II and looks at the low blows. Also shows some suspicious activity between John David Jackson and Ward's team right after the fight ended. Which is sort of consistent with some other things that have come out. Apparently JDJ was approached by the Ward team to switch sides during training camp, and apparently they offered him a massive amount of money. Kathy Duva found out about that and informed Kovalev, it's mentioned in the 24/7 episode. Then JDJ was acting as if Ward had clearly won with no controversy immediately after the fight, whereas the rest of Kovalev's team and Sergey were extremely upset and arguing with the result. I'm seeing a lot of stuff lining up here, fellow /x/box/ers.

I dont understand why people keep putting JCC as Mexican ATG.
In terms of resume JMM is clarly the best and I dont know why he is still so underrated, having arguably lost 3 fights with a young/prime Pacquiao (who's better than any other name on that list) and ktfo the 4th fight.
Whos' JCC biggest name? Meldrick Taylor? FUCKING KEK

1 - JMM

>>76691334
Nah man, Chávez really the best boxer we ever had. He isn't even my favourite among the ones listed, but it is what it is. Look at him fighting, he was great in almost all aspects. Meldrick Taylor also was not a fucking joke.
The big defect Marquéz had is his glass chin. His technique wasn't better than Chávez either, despite being great. Legitimately lost to Pacquiao, maybe had a draw. and arguably a win before their 4th fight, but by the time KO'd him, Pacquio wasn't in his prime. Granted, Márquez was also old, but still.
I've seen several people listing him below Zárate, which he wasn't, so he is a little underrated, I agree. Still not top 3. That's how I see it.

This is the first international tournament that most of this English squad have competed in. It's a good sign for the next Olympics, which if they perform well in that will be a good sign for their pro careers. The point is that amateur success is an extremely good predictor of pro success. Pat McCormack and Galal Yafai were unlucky in Rio and could definitely medal in Tokyo. Out of the new guys, Naill Farrell, Cheavan Clarke and Frazer Clarke look like they have very high ceilings. Luke McCormack and Ben Whittaker will probably not be the first choices for Tokyo - I think that will be Dalton Smith and William Hutchison, who are also top talents. Total waste for these guys to stay amateur. The one Canadian we sent to Rio is staying amateur too.
Waste like 4 of your prime years staying amateur, fighting in obscurity. Go back to olympics and get robbed by russians anyways.
I would turn pro if I were them desu.
>>76695767
I think 24 or so is the best age for a blue chip prospect to turn pro (a little sooner for the small guys and a little later for the big guys). I think spending a few years competing against other top prospects in the ams is more beneficial than going pro immediately and learning their craft mainly against bums for the first four to five years of their careers. An Olympic gold medal is probably more prestigious than most professional accolades as well - probably only second to the lineal championship these days - and it can also really boost a fighter's earning potential if they pick one up before making the switch. Promoters will pay a lot more for an Olympic medallist
>The one Canadian we sent to Rio is staying amateur too.

Good afternoon to all fans of boxing. For whom the English-speaking audience is more ill in the upcoming battle, Golovkin-Canelo? At us on our Russian forum there was a dispute, for whom Americans suffer in this fight. Mexicans, it is clear that the red.
Please answer this question.
Thanks in advance.

White Americans support Golovkin, Kovalev, etc., because they're a bunch of racially insecure beta males and have no local heroes to latch onto. They literally support random white people from Europe above their own African and Hispanic American fighters

Americans are kind of split. On one hand Golovkin is more experienced and has more power, but Canelo is younger and has more speed and is a favorite among Mexican Americans

3) He is actually Mexican
>>76701222
The only reason he was Mexican was because Castro banned boxing for a little bit and Mantequilla got asylum in Mexico.
>>76695970
Ya Biyarslanov got robbed in rio.
Im assuming he is staying amateur until the next olympics. I would imagine if you are going to turn pro, right after the olympics is the time to do it. Or maybe just never turns pro because Canada has shit boxing infrastructure.
>>76701335
Hence he is Mexican.
I still don't get the point of your posts. It seems to me that you are trying to imply that I'm trying to steal foreign achievements when most Mexicans don't even mention him in their lists, like he didn't exist. He doesn't deserve that, he was amazing and he is criminally underrated. If I wasn't using him in the list, I could easily replace his spot with some other fighters, we have had a million. And again, he IS Mexican.
>>76701417
Mantequilla was born and raised in Cuba and that's where he learned his craft. What you are saying would be like Americans trying to claim Golovkin and Kovalev just because they fight out of America.
>>76701491
I don't even need to claim him, I just think he is criminally underrated.
Besides, and I don't know how many times I have to say if
1) He IS Mexican. Golovkin is not American, what is it with the false equivalent?
2) He pretty much made his entire career (76 fights) for Mexico, with only 8 out of his 84 professional fights being for Cuba
3) Once he was in Mexico, he trained here under the direction of Cuco Conde and Kid Rapidez
Do I get to claim all Mexican-American fighters now when they fought for America and not for Mexico?
Why do you think De la Hoya isn't on the list?
>>76701623

>As a 29 year old lightweight Loma can't afford to waste time
that's just a sad fact of boxing. he'll never be as big as he should be, and boxers will avoid him when it makes sense for them. i would like the salido rematch just to make things clear and to see salido schooled but it's not really necessary. everyone knows that it's only due to salido weighing so fucking much on fight night and the million low blows that he was able to do anything against loma
i imagine loma will be able to dominate easily into his mid-30s, maybe even late 30s depending on his plans. he seems to take really good care of himself and he doesn't take punishment (with the exception of his balls). he's got plenty of time. and if mayweather would get done with fighting altogether then the landscape will open up more for him to become a star

Motorcycles are literally just killing machines. Everyone gets mangled on them. Its not if you'll crash, its when and how bad.
Why are scousers such big stiff idiots, lads?
>>76714487
i-im not
>>76706457
desu both times i was hit bare knuckle directly in the eye without gloves on, shots woulda rekt anyone
>>76713835
Canelo isn't a dirty fighter. Ward is just a piece of shit
>>76714453
fuck man, it will work out fine
how many exams did you have this semester? I have 4, first one in 2 weeks
What do you think about Tyson Fury? Will it be absolute or will it remain for those who took off the belt with Klitschko?
>>76693636
>>76699971
Terrible posts. Why are boxing fans so stupid?
>>76713798
I think his work plan was the right choice. Jacobs caught him with goods uppercuts but I'm just and amateur and Abel is based so I'm probably wrong.
>>76715967
why are they terrible posts
>>76711022
Get urself a qt Bavarian gf and stop giving a fuck about school.
>>76713561
Fuck no. Lost twice to Taylor and never fought James Toney.
>>76715090
You could have dodged or rolled the punches instead of being a big stuff Anglo idiot.
>>76716422
Exactly this. Jones is a 4 division champ and let's not forget, he beat Hopkins back then. The second fight shouldn't even matter, they were both past their prime with more than a few losses
>>76716472
you don't really know the circumstances it happened so you can't say shit can you
>>76667889
Get with the times, GGG looks like husbando material in this photo
>>76716422
He lost two disputed decisions to Taylor when he was 40, well past the age when Jones was finished, and this was before he even had his run at 175. And Toney had already moved up way before Hopkins won his first title.
>>76715967
Why do you like shitty boxers?
>>76716636
>Hating on the best journeyman since Willie meehan
>>76715305
my school has 3 semesters. Fall, Winter and summer.
Summer is weird, you can take classes that are like everyday for 2 horus and get them done in a month as opposed to a 4 month class.
So i took 3 classes this summer semester and have 3 exams. I just finished my second one, so I start my last class of the summer in a week.
But I'm at the end of my degree and I'm taking meme classes cus all my core courses are finished.
Easy work.
>>76716688
can journeymen even be good?
if you aren't elite then how can you justify dancing around the ring like that, wasting energy and boxing with horrid technique
how many times did his dancing get him KO'd
>>76716730
I assumed they called it autumn in canada
bloody yankoforms
>>76714286
decent fight.
I don't really rate badou jack that highly but he always gets the job done. I think cleverly can outwork him desu. Especially cus we don't know if Jacks power will carry to light heavy, and cleverly is big at that weight.
>>76716747
ya but we spell it colour instead of color, and shit like that.
Also, how to brits spell centre as in "civic centre"
centre or center?
>>76716799
we use the -re ending
centre metre (distance) etc
a meter as in something you pay money into would still be -er
im sure there are exceptions though
I wish most boxers fought at walking around weight
like lets say I was a pro boxer, but I walk round at 160lbs and I'm fairly muscular for my skeleton, but I wouldn't be a middleweight, I'd end up as like a fucking lightweight or welterweight at best wouldn't I?
>>76716485
The bhop in the second fight was better than the green bhop in the first fight desu
>>76709157
I stand corrected.
Apparently Gervonta Davis vs Orlando Salido is in the works for the mayweather mcgregor card.
>>76717015
yeah, atleast we can watch davis and jack put on a display before the farce
I am interested in the spectacle, but I think mayweather won't even try and It will be boring as shit, if he wanted to he could do mcgregor worse than gatti but you know he won't because he's the first person to admit all he cares about is the money
is mayweather the richest athlete of all time, except that super multi billionaire chariot rider from ancient rome?
>>76717057
Michael Jordan is a billionaire. Although he got that through his sponsors and stuff.
In terms of money from straight up sporting purses. Mayweather is without a doubt the highest paid.

>>76717015
This is a great move if they want to make Loma-Davis happen. Really not a bad fight all things considered.
>>76716730
i'd rather have a full summer semester than a condensed semester

its good if you only wanna take one class in the summer, and just get it done in a month.
You can also take like 2 month classes where you go every tuesday thursday for 3 hours, or 3 months classes online.
The summer semester is really weird like that and sporadic.
I just finished a class in like 3 weeks, and it was a ton of material and lots of reading. but its nice just having one class to worry about, instead of juggling multiple due dates and stuff like that.

>>76716734
The guy was a journeyman because he had no promotion and would fight at a few days notice, and was most likely on a shitload of drugs. He pulled off a few upsets, ruined some prospects careers and got robbed plenty of times. If you see him fight he was talented no doubt.

I did 4 miles at 7 minutes and I can barely go 3 rounds with novices.
>>76720386
Yeah the ref saw a woman get hit in the face and called the fight off immediately
Anthony Fowler up now
>>76720414
just tuned in.
Fowler seems like a beast. 200 amateur fights or something like that I think.
>>76720444
He was actually starting to already look past his prime in the ams, although it may just be that he lost interest in it
>>76720414
Seems to happen almost every time I watch a women's match. The only exception I can think of is when Claressa Shields murdered some Euro who was 0-7 or something like that. The mismatches in women's boxing can be pretty horrible, I think that's part of the issue sometimes.
>>76720485
thats always something I thought about but no one ever mentions.
Like how fresh can Lomachenko be if he had 400 amateur bouts? OR Glolovkin, or Rigondeaux?
Fowler looks far too hittable, maybe its because he is so confident.
That was right on the belt. Fuck off.
>>76720570
t. "Irish" Andre Ward
>>76720544
Nah he was like that in the ams too. He's an action fighter and will probably be popular for that reason
On the bright side his jab looks very crisp and he's accurate
Kell Brook
Ah, he's been sparring Joe Pigford. No wonder he's past his prime
