I doubt Woodley would be able to take Lawler down. Hendricks has just as good a double leg as Woodley and he mixes it far better with strikes and he struggled taking down Lawler. Not only that but look at the MacDonald fight, Rory basically had Lawler in an incredibly strong position and was running the pipe but Lawler still managed to get out of it.

Hendricks had one good transition from punching to a double leg as his first take down on lawler, but after that it was a lot of obvious shooting. heem memes aside of course I'm not 100% sure woodley will beat lawler, but I do think he's just more powerful with take downs then hendricks and better able to ground and pound then lay there, he tore condits acl from a take down slam. Also, that's a poor comparison. Pooryay went to the ground for the rest of the fight, and probably for that reason. Rory kept the fight standing. Well when you think about if you're being heel hooked you're on top, so when you escape you're most likely going to be on top, so you are correct.
Poirier and Mendes are too different of fighters to compare. Mendes is rather small for his weight class (and tiny in comparison to Conor) and he's not very good on the ground, he hasn't shown any amount of a BJJ game at all.
Meanwhile Poirier is a good size for LW and is noted for being very good at subs, passing and the general BJJ game.

The big problem for the UFC is that if Conor loses, the UFC has literally no one left to hype.
When GSP and BRock walked they started hyping woman's mma even though it is awful.
And then they started with Conor. They got 1 star out of the women's division and she's been badly exposed now.
Conor's weakness is that he's cast himself as invincible, meaning that if he loses he's finished as "invincible". GSP loses and he's a humble gentleman you know will work harder than anyone to come back strong. Brock loses and you want to tune in again just to see if anyone can conquer a guy of that size. But Conor's attraction is his shit-talk bravado, and you can't make bravado count if you've lost, you just look like even more of a "loser".
Expect a line of cans for Sage Northcut, because there seem to be no other possible hype machines on the horizon. Desperate times if COnor loses.
