THATS FUCKING ILLEGAL
Whenever I'm peaking in a set and its getting down to the grueling pain, I imagine a boxing or mma icon to the side of me, shouting encouragement.
Similarly, when I do a push up set, I imagine them doing the set with me. I work harder and push myself more every time.
Today, it was fabricio werdum.
WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB
I have the flu and barely slept last night. Though that's not a good excuse for hitting submit on that post.
Already forgot about this >>64689329
I guess in hindsight it doesn't really register cause Bethe tagged her with every punch she threw in those 30 seconds.
What are some good fights to get a friend interesting in mma?
who is one ufc fighter you would not let get close if you saw them in person?
What event/fight would you lads like to have witnessed in person the most?
>nobody has incorporated Rogan's "OOOHHHHHHH" into a wubstep song yet
Bellator needs to stop being Gaylator and remove UFC from the monopoly spot. Just give fighters bigger wages and watch them all come around. Fuuuuck Dana White, he'll pay when he sees fighters leave his scams for a better paycheck.
>long contracts hard to run out

This is what most people fail to understand tbqh.
Same thing with Sage.
If you've been an athlete who competes at an elite level a considerable part of your life you're going to look good whether you're 38 or 19.
Just watched Lookin for a Fight. What a great show. I might actually maintain a fight pass subscription for this. Serra is a hilarious. I laughed when he was talking shit to Tooth for touching his hair and then touching the taffy. Also how can Tooth eat a canoli if he's vegan?
Some pretty good heems too.
>conor unironically beating a dude who has almost a hundred pounds on him
Okay la, he will beat him la
NO ONE CAN TAKE THAT LEFT
I SEE STIFFNESS IN BIG BROWN
IT SURE LOOKS LIKE SHE'S WELL PREPARED FOR HOLY HOLM ROUND 2
I would be rooting for her hard in the rematch if instead of this she'd post footage of her in the gym like bonny Jones.
Is she trying to get sympathy from her fans cause all this just proves is that her entire tough not a DNB act was a marketing facade.
I died when Serra said something like
>I knew I was gonna have to take my shirt off, so ive been easing up on the pizza. You mighta sawr an ab.
Sad that there are people on here so poor they cant scrounge $10 a month to watch the matt serra comedy hour.
Where is CM punk realistically going with his UFC "career"?
How the fuck did he get the dumb idea to become an MMA fighter?
>mfw a sneaky leprechaun steal my gold in 13 seconds flat
>Not wanting the memes
Get in my mount broo!
>Bruce Buffer will unironically say "With a Mixed Martial Arts record of 0 wins and 0 losses"
Did you miss the second part of the post? More money would come from sticking to mandrama, I doubt Dana's shelling out the kind of cash they are. Even Brock stayed with them because he was offered more
>How the fuck did he get the dumb idea to become an MMA fighter?
Look I know everyone on heem is a keyboard karate fag. Never been in a fight or trained. But I train a Roofus Sport. I'm probably the only person on /heem/ who trains. With that said he's one of my teammates. I asked him why and he looked into my eyes and he told me "this isn't CM Punk talking to you, this is Phil Brooks talking to you I can do this". He told me how he watched MMA fights and told me how he knows he could defeat everyone from 155 up to 185. He told me how he watched Hendrick/Lawler,GSP/Condit, Sanchez/Gilbert,Zombie/Porier, and told me he sees weakness when he sees them. He sees a lot of holes in their games. How he could exploit them and defeat all of them easily. He also told me that he can tell everyone in WW can't take a punch. And if Diaz was able to drop Robbie with some pitter patter shit then he will have no problem knocking out Robbie or anyone. How they have no power. How Undertaker,Brock,Cena, and even Goldust all hit him harder than anyone in MMA can. He believes in himself and that's all he needs. Now just believe me.
It's not exclusively about the money. He's trained BJJ with Rener and if Dana called you saying he wanted to sign you to UFC, would you say no?
1. You'll be doing something you're interested in.
2. You will make a lot of money out of it. Way more than 99% of the people working there.
Even if he gets completely potatoe'd he's still going to make money.
Eventually he'll have to fight, and I think he'll take more damage from the fight than from the wrestling matches.
Though that said all Dana has to do is give him some shitter, watch the buys go up and then he can reitre after his one win
Dustin Poirier: $84,000 (includes $42,000 win bonus)

2016 we r ready for war!! Can't wait.
How is Lawler making so much? $500,000 is pretty insane considering he doesn't really seem to be a massive draw. He puts on top fights, but his name isn't really on the tongue of casuals or anything
I got so spoiled in December I expect for there to be at least 4 fight cards in a month now, with a card happening every week
When the 194 Embeddeds were comng out and McGregor was doing all the mewvement I couldn't stop laughing
Now it looks like more and more fighters are following suit. Maybe it's not the meme I thought it was
Benavidez is in Colorado currently
>When Dominick asked him how are you going to beat me
>Everyone is too much of a coward on /heem/ to stand & bang with me
>implying you're not scared shitless of getting in my guard
Listen, the fight can go anywhere I want it to. I can stand and bang or I can put you on your back and control you from there. Black belt under Damian Maia, rolled a couple of times with members of the Gracie family, did a teaching seminar in Brazil during my holiday there.
Even so, I don't think you'd be able to threaten me standing. Rafael Cordeiro was my striking coach. My boxing, my footwork, agility, athleticism, mobility, understanding of movement, legit one punch knock out power, leg kicks, step in elbows, oblique kicks. I don't know, I just don't see how you think you're a threat to me standing up.
You need rules when you're a karate black belt so you don't take it too far and kill every baka that steps to you
T-City sunk a standing anaconda, landed in side control, rolled backwards over his own shoulder into a mounted one armed guillotine, got reversed and landed on his back, and immediately sunk a triangle from guard
that is way, way better than escaping a choke and taking your opponents back for a rear naked. Rear naked choke? lol come on
Olivi is cucking him with a black guy, her google+ account proves it
Love thumps can hardly be considered strikes
>Condit fanboys are still butthurt
I'd call a doctor if I were you
>all these keybard warriors
Seriously? How the fuck do you guys live with yourselves? We got a bunch of fucking faggots saying they could heem everyone here but no one, and I mean no one here ever has. I've heemed people, not just out but I mean permanent heemed them. Them sleepy forever. I was a Marine. I served as a Forward Observer and Field Radio Operator for Hotel Battery, Third Batallion, Fourteenth Marines, Fourth Marine Division. I'm a black belt fourth degree Konoshiny in the Marines Martial Arts. That means I'm taught to kill, not knock people out,I mean straight up kill. Rip out throats, snap necks with one hand, heart punches, rip out your finger bones and stab you with them. I'm a monster, straight up. If the UFC offered a super secret "Kill of The Night" bonus I would win that shit in a heartbeat. You guys say "I bet I could heem everyone here". I'll take you up on your bet because I FUCKING KNOW I could heem everyone here to the living death. Next time you fucking type some stupid shit that you're gonna beat someone up think again about what you're typing and who you're typing it to. Cause it might be me.
>Love thumps can hardly be considered strikes
The rules explicitly state that volume is the most important factor dude
It doesn't say one single word about how much damage is done. It says that effective striking is who lands more strikes.
No they do not, they state that both significant strikes and the number of strikes landed are the most important.
Condit's little love taps do not count as strikes therefore he loses.
>He's gonna get rekt as soon as he fights someone good
That's what casuals say about every single up and coming exciting fighter, see Conor.
You should shut the fuck up instead of draining the fun out of everything.
I guess that's why he's the champion now right?
>I served as a Forward Observer and Field Radio Operator for Hotel Battery, Third Batallion, Fourteenth Marines, Fourth Marine Division.
You got BTFO'd, and you've known you were BTFO'd since you googled the UFC rules, realized that they literally prove you wrong, and scrambled to find something else
hope you enjoyed it, ya fuckin idiot lmao
>Literally can't even respond
Canadians are the dumbest "people" to have ever existed
He will have no chance against Cruz. He only looked good because Barao just stands in front of him all the time, his striking accuracy is still weak and he has been knocked out by Dodson in the past, so he is susceptible to go down himself.
>UFC rules are outdated
>links a PDF from 2012
The UFC link canada posted even says "Effective striking is judged by determining the total number of legal strikes landed by a contestant."
As a counterpoint: Cruz has not fought against high level competition for 5 years, his last fight was a year and a half ago and he goes for more accurate striking and as such does not to tend to weigh in on his punches,
There is a PDF link on the UFC rules page that links to a similar document without a date on it that doesn't contain the "damage" addendum.
There have been countless decisions where people get pissed and argue that one fighter should have won because they did more damage, but the win is awarded to the fighter who had a higher volume of striking. It happens all the time and people complain about it all the time.
The decision on Saturday is actually the only decision I can think off offhand where a fighter that was outstruck by that margin was awarded a win based on the damage they did.
>The decision on Saturday is actually the only decision I can think off offhand where a fighter that was outstruck by that margin was awarded a win based on the damage they did.
Bendo vs Cerrone 3
Which Cerrone rightly won
61% of Bendo's strikes were little taps to the thigh
That means about 46 of Bendo's 71 strikes were insignificant little foot taps.
It was only in round 3 where Bendo actually stepped up with some damaging hits, and that is the round he won
listen dude, I'm not saying that's the way it should be, I'm saying that's the way it fucking is.
This is like if I said to you "dude, don't point a toy gun at the cops, that's fucking stupid" and then you reply
>it's okay to kill someone for having a toy gun
I'm telling you what the actual fucking rules actually are. I'm not telling you how I think they should be. You are stupid.
I do not think that had anything to do with damage done, because there was zero damage done by both fighters. Cowboy moved forward for a lot of the fight and had good octagon control too.
>keep your chin up
That didn't help her last time
If he did that to me I'd heem him. And I'd heem you too. I don't give a fuck that he was in the Salvation Army. I'd still beat his ass.
Well he's gonna have you on your arse, shoulders on the mat, legs wide. You're gonna have to heem him off your back. How many times has that happened in MMA history again? Twice?
I just heemed someone this morning during sparring from the back. I do a worm guard where I move like a worm, shift, movement side to side angling to find that perfect punch. He kept hitting me hard, I gave it back. He was out. So would Luke.
I don't know if it's the shed but he said that room is in his house. It's the room he goes into when his wife has white men over.
Do you think it'd be a wise decision to give up my life so I can move to California and stalk Paige?
>but it's logical to agree that generally an uppercut does more damage than a jab.
That's not what you were arguing, though. This, ladies and gentlemen, is moving the goal posts.
You were arguing that, despite having no visible damage and no actual reaction from the fighter to imply that they were hurt, that judges score some strikes higher because they appeared to have been thrown with more force.
Jogging away is an awful way to circle the cage.
You tire yourself out much quicker, lose a more demonstrated approach at cage control and can show your opponent your back
In fact that's probably Gus' biggest weakness and the reason why he is so close yet so far from a title.
If Lawler/Condit went to Round 6, who would have won?
Some UFC fighters are catered to so fucking hard.
Andrei gets starched within a minute and he drops one spot to be tied with Overeem for third overall. Stipe moves up one spot to second.
Why did Arlovski leapfrog Stipe without even fighting?
And then you tried to pretend that you were implying that different strikes are worth more than others, rather than the same strikes being worth more than the same strike thrown with less force.
At the end of the round, the judges don't look down at their scorecards and they read
>one stiff jab
>five flick jabs
>one heavy jab
>two fast jabs
Different strikes are generally worth more than others, that is true, and the same can be said of same strikes thrown with different force or landing more effectively than others.
>At the end of the round, the judges don't look down at their scorecards and they read
No but they make a mental note of the damage the fighter did and give the round to that fighter
Hence why Lawler won
>No but they make a mental note of the damage the fighter did and give the round to that fighter
No, they don't
hence why this is a fucking rarity and the vast majority of the time it goes to the guy who threw more volume
hence why GSP beat Hendricks
hence why Jones beat Gus
Refute those two examples bud.
Jon Jones, Jon Jones, Luke Rockhold, GSP, McGregor, McGregor, Dillashaw, Rousey, Johnson, Gadelha.
The damage was only lopsided in their respective rounds that they won.
I don't know why you're even comparing these to Condit/Lawler anyway because that what makes that unique was that Condit was not actually throwing hard strikes whereas Gus/Jones/Hendricks/GSP were.
Hard to say, Condit recovers quickly normally (like he did almost instantly in the second) but he was taking a beating. Lawler was gassed and probably would've remained pretty out of breath.
Just jumping into the conversation here, but I think the usual judges rule-of-thumb of 'volume>damage' is just due to laziness, and the slowness of the human eye. There are plenty of times when a fighter wins a round on volume, and if you go back and watch it in slow motion you'll see that not even one punch connected.
>people are calling Robbie Robber Lawler
>fans are criticizing him for stealing the fight
>they blame him
>not the judges
Those body kicks, the occasional leg kick as he swept across (most were nothing though), those elbows and a lot of those straight punches when he had his back to the cage or were in the pocket were visibly troubling Lawler. It's why he was wobblied multiple times or just backed off/was very hesitant to go after him as he had him on the fence during the fight.
Lawler's best moments were the end and him unloading hooks as Condit rushed in half of which didn't even hit. What I want to know is where his fucking jab went.
>was that Condit was not actually throwing hard strikes whereas Gus/Jones/Hendricks/GSP were.
You were arguing that the more damaging strike is the worth more than the exact same strike that did less damage. GSP vs Hendricks is literal proof that fights are not scored that way. The vast, vast majority of controversial decisions stem from a fighter being awarded a decision based on volume rather than damage done. The entire idea of "winning the fight but not the contest" is what that is based on dude.
I scored it for Condit but I'm actually glad Lawler got the dec. I do think Condit was doing actual damage, but it's rare to see judges give the lower-volume striker the decision, and Robbie was kicking ass in the last round.
>and Robbie was kicking ass in the last round.
and the last 90 seconds of the fifth round
and nowhere in between>>64693317
>Which Rory exploited brilliantly with that headkick which put Robbie in trouble-ville.
yeah maybe right before he QUIT
The times Condit landed hard strikes and hurt Lawler were the rounds he won (1 and 4) in all the others Lawler significantly landed more impactful strikes.
Except GSP did land hard shots
Yes, it is based off a generalisation of strikes via their purpose and a specific feedback from certain strikes.
A much better way to judge a fight than
>Fighter A hit Fighter B with 30 thigh punches
>Fighter B hit Fightet A with 29 head kicks
>Fighter A wins
He hit Condit with a few check hooks and a forearm. It wasn't that significant tbf to over rule the control and effective strikes that were nullifying Lawler the rest of the round.
Lawler's head movement was also exploited by Hendricks in the first fight when he was punting Lawler's leg as Lawler sat heavy on it after every exchange. If Lawler gets heem'd in the next year or so it's coming by head kick. I hope he doesn't, because whoever takes that WW belt after him will have nowhere near the amount of spicey bangers Lawler has.
>Call out CM Punk
Tyron is getting his shot soon or perhaps Maia, Tyron is getting heem'd, Maia might be a nightmare if he can get it too the ground but he'll most likely just be heem'd.
7 or so check hooks and one combo that landed flush don't win you the round in my opinion m80.
>Tell me right here how you're going to beat me
>I-i don't need to
>I'll do it right here I'm going to beat you because i'm better than yo
>I-i would have told you im going to knock your ass out
>D-dont worry about it
Maia has awful takedowns as shown by the Gunnar fight, won't get passed Lawler's TDD.
Best he can hope for is a guillotine
And 7 or so check hooks does win you the round if your opponent throws very little of worth
>Look for a fight
>He's now on Fight Pass Prelims
>Why don't you talk?
>Because I don't need to.
>Because I'm better than you Dominick and I'm going to prove it in the cage and shut your mouth once and for all.
>I think you're scared to talk because you don't want to say what you're gonna do because you're scared to eat your own words.
Listen, while you've been out I've been the best. I've learned everything you thought you knew and improved on it. You'll make a mistake and I will capitalize, that's what I'm gonna do.
>legit 1 million posts early
Chill out bro. Let the thread his 520 posts then make a new one.
Also GSP beat Hendricks. I don't give a fuck about muh stats.
R5: Probably the most disgusting, faggot, riding the fucking bicycle I've ever seen.
>hurr durr I'm winnin welp just gonna leave it to the judges and let GSP hit me a bunch of times even though every time I punch GSP he does the stanky leg
>I'm down to drug test
>wait this is super duper drug testing that they can find shit even if I mask it with an IV's or agents
>nah I'm not down to drug test
>I made wait Dole-che
>Imma fire Dole-che
>do I look like I been in a fight
>look at GSP and look at me who won?
>I'm glad I beat Robbie tonight?
The GOATs, together at last.
Serious question, though - Will Rockhold ever lose? And if so, then to whom?
