So who are your favorite /hoc/ idols and do you have their jerseys yet?
I dont mind people having fun (I had a great time we beat the league leaders for the 2nd time this season) and I'm glad they were enjoying visiting Scotland but shout "bah bah bah" along to every song that game on is very annoying
it's like soldier helmets. uneducated people think they're there to protect you from bullets to the head when in reality their main purpose is to stop shrapnel and debris. hockey helmets don't exist because of big hits but to stop shit like high sticks and collisions with the goalpost/legs/boards. think cuts not concussions.
i have a peltonen jersey but no selänne jersey because he's a filthy jokeri. I could entertain the thought of a rad mighty ducks jersey if I found one at a decent price, especially the flying duck
I still have my Mike Richter jersey from middle school, those were some good years
> Love Live edition
> Not having based John Scott's jersey on display
Yeah, but it's more secondary. It's also why they break easier... there's more give in the stick and less chance of breaking bones.
The prime reason is that they're just better in every way. Lighter, and thus easier to maneuver (especially key in the high-paced game on today), and the flex helps add power to shots/passes.
2bh war helmets can stop some bullets from low firepower weapons or even high firepower weapons from far away enough but it will snap your neck and leave you either disabled or dead nonetheless
Guys, here me out. I think Finns should be IP banned from /sp/ entirely. Nobody really likes them, and they dramatically bring down the quality of discussion here.
I think Canada should be IP banned from /sp/ entirely. Nobody really likes them, and they dramatically bring down the quality of discussion here.
I think your mom should be range banned from McDonalds :DD
I want a leetch jersey so bad, cause merica
This. Who else owned a Scott jersey before he became leader of Pac's All-Stars?
>a female asks me if I'm available at 4pm to work on a group assignment
>agree because I thought Fin-Swe game starts at 6pm
>look it up, it starts at 4pm
Should I just cancel that shit? I don't want to miss the game.
Well, I suspected so before, but after tonight I can safely say that the stars are a meme team supreme.
Tons of risky plays, the defense is dogshit and on top of that two goalers who apparently roll dice to decide if they're gonna play well or not
If you're not a dullass fag and you think that team gets anywhere near the cup you must be retarded.
you are only allowed to this post if your team is going to make the ploffs
not so fast Flyers fans
>not a meme
The man is living proof of it
>some faggot like virtanen tries to chop your stick
>your stick is wood
>his stick breaks
>refs see broken stick, assume you broke his stick
>mfw he just claimed the definition of composite as sticks that break easily
Can your shitty wooden stick act as a tactical door stop smacking players in the ankles?
>best team in hockey
Step the fuck aside.
>I opt out of of using the most advanced technology science can offer for a literal piece of wood
check out this game used Jagr stick from 1995
he scored 149 points that year with this beauty piece of lumber
>Retards think wood sticks are good
I broke my primary stick not long ago and my backup was one of those cheap 50 dollar sticks and heavy as shit. It sucked ass to try to poke check or do anything defensively with a heavy stick
Probably sponsorship so Adidas and Nike can continue to charge 200 shekels per stick to every kid in the country
Not him but I play goalie and the only people I know who use wood are technically the ones with bitch wrists because they say they don't have to be as strong to block shots with a heavier stick. Plus wooden goalie sticks get splintered as shit so you get toothpick-sized splinters when you handle it without a glove. Also they don't last as long.
Basically foam/composite/carbon-fiber goalie sticks are better in every way
Move over Pedosota, we have a new state of hockey here.
9TH WIN IN A ROW (FRANCHISE RECORD)
PERFECT 6-0 HOMESTAND (FRANCHISE RECORD)
BIG CUBANO'S 4TH WIN IN A ROW (PERSONAL RECORD)
ahhhh, I knew you were asking for this, won't let you down amigo
>Not him but I play goalie and the only people I know who use wood are technically the ones with bitch wrists because they say they don't have to be as strong to block shots with a heavier stick.
what the fuck is this retard talking about
>He thought Palat was an Art Ross finalist
Well with old standards yes but it's undeniable that talent always rises so although the talent of all hockey players today is better they would be just as impressive if they were in this era
his speed, stick handling and vision would be GOAT in any era
He was a dominant player in the mid 2000s as an old man
would be good with modern equipment and training
Jagr sounds so butthurt about having to do the all star game kek
We have a trade to announce:
>#Blackhawks acquire forward Richard Panik from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for forward Jeremy Morin.
>literally who for a literal bust
What awful, awful hockey franchises.
>This inferiority complex
AHL tier trade
>be out of the loop over the holidays
>the John Scott thing actually panned out
Go get em Johnny
>somehow I miss them more
>tfw Tanner Glass and Dominic Moore are the most important forwards on the team
The clearest sign to know the ducks are moving back towards elite territory is if the rest of /hoc/ bothers to spam the "Ducks fans will never be white" meme.
If they can't even inspire proper shitposting, then they can't contest for a spot among the elite.
>mfw the Jest miss 5 straight playoffs
>mfw they get relocated AGAIN
Feels good lads. Can't wait to have a team back.
I got a pavelski jersey a few years after he came into the league. It's always a risk getting a jersey for someone who hasn't either retired or signed a long term deal, but glad it panned out for him.
IMHO you're retarded if you don't think he's one of the most underrated players in the league and the second best special teams skater behind ovechkin, and arguably the best greasy goal scorer in the league right now.
Plus he's american, right handed, and also wears #8, and I grew up near where he is from.
Do you have any qt Detoilet slags? Preferably of the nigger variety.
>tfw holiday is over
H-hold me /sp/. I don't want to go outside to the cold and dark.
>slaughtered the stars
Literally who will stop the tortorella jackets
>tfw the New York Rangers will win the Stanley Cup
I don't actually have any courses today. Feels pretty good to stay at home in the warmth of my pc and meme on /hoc/ all day 2bqhwyf
Because Finns have no sense of loyalty.
Ctrl+F "Sakic" no results... I still have the Nordics and an Avalanche jersey with his name on it from when I was a kid.
This gets me thinking, but how many prospects are overvalued because they have some unreal chemistry with their junior partner?
In retrospect, should the Oilels have taken Galchenyuk instead of Yakupov?
More like the Stars wouldn't give him a cheap veteran contract so he could finish his career there, then fired him from the FO after a short stint. Management shafted him. He fucking hates Dallas now.
Hindsight is 20/20. How do we know that Galchenyuk wouldn't have underperformed in that terrible situation of the Mactavish run Oilers? Yakupov was the consensus #1 pick the entire year leading up to the Draft. Yakupov in front of Justin Schultz & Ben Scrivens is a bust but imagine Yakupov infront of Subban & Price. He could easily lead the team in goals.
The Oilers should have taken a defender like Reilly or Trouba instead of a forward.
Even though Gibs is starting up in goal recently, I still remember all the good Andersen has done for the team when they were playing like shit in the beginning of the season.
They're practically right. He's back with a vengeance, and since the Duck's defense has gotten considerably better he has like 4 shutouts under his belt.
St.Louis was their Art Ross winner & former Captain who requested a trade
Stamkos is their face of the franchise Rocket Richard winner & current captain who is currently without a contract extension and has hinted to free agency
Drouin is their memorial cup winner former 3rd overall who has requested a trade.
1/3 of these players have not survived Cooper. He will outlast them all in Tampa.
St Louis was mad at Yzerman and acted like a little manlet bitch
There's nothing indicating stammer would leave unless they decide they don't want his cap hit
Drouin is a bust and isn't really any sweat off the teams back if they accept his trade request
He has a great opportunity to win one with the Panthers all though they are a relatively young team which might hold them back. I'd give him a 2/10 with the Panthers this season and a 7/10 if he went cup chasing and signed a deal with a heavyweight contender. It might be worth it to stick around in Florida as they may become a heavyweight contender themselves in the future.
He's been under utilized for sure.
What teams have inquiried about him?
Jonathan Marchessault > Jonathan Drouin
t. John Cooper
Who /hype/ here? I literally can not wait for the game to start.
>5.5 MILLION (5,500,000)
Andrew MacDonald tier
Shot generation is at a premium in the league nowadays. Can't undervalue that just because he sucks defensively. He's still a valuable asset and will fetch a solid return for the Bolts.
Good luck getting a GM to trade a superior player to Drouin on an even cheaper ELC. This isn't EA NHL 16.
>tfw jagr played for your team so you can own his jersey and still be a homer
One may night in 1998, a shining star led the three wise men Kummola, Kurri and Jutila to Älvskarleby, SWE. There in an empty hockey rink they found a baby boy wrapped in hockey jerseys and immediately understood his significance. Unwilling to make the finding of new messiah exposed to Swedes they named him Jesse instead of Jesus and gave him to Puljujärvi family in Tornio, FIN to be raised as a Finn instead of a Swede. They knew that it would take a while for Finland to finally win the olympic gold but it certainly was coming.
>.920 SV%, 2.28 GAA, 4 shutouts
finnish goaltending feels bretty good desu
Canada are your parents really bad enough that this is needed?
>tfw got a 3 on exam I thought I fucking bombed
I was expected at most a 1, maybe even fail. (On a scale of 1 to 5.
Feels pretty good 2bh. Now I can watch Sweden get BTFO with good mood.
It's not weird scale 2bh. It's the standard university grading in Finland. Of course if you want to fuck the punctuation, you could say that it is 0-5 but since 0 doesn't exist because fail is just a fail, the acceptable passing grades are 1-5
>8-5-0 vs the Pacific
>17-6-2 versus the rest of the league
Drouin hasn't been that bad defensively this season, keen in mind he's been injured a few times.
bottom = good defensively
blue = positive possession player
left = gets the toughest zone starts
Other notes from the 2013 draft class: Bo Horvat is being slaughtered in a defensive role, Elias Lindholm is a good player who should start scoring more any time now, and Monahan is being carried by Gaudreau on the first line (his stats when not playing with the little guy are especially worrying)
>Monahan is being carried by Gaudreau on the first line (his stats when not playing with the little guy are especially worrying)
gosh, you weren't kidding
Brodeur, biggest reason I started to root for the Devils back when I was 7 years old. I have his jersey on my wall which I bought when I travelled to the US to see him play before he retired.
pick related is supposedly what the new panthers uniforms will look like. thoughts?
Finland is simply not a good team! There is some shady stuff going on with the referees. Not good!
>tfw he's going to be number 5-7 in the draft
>tfw the Devils pick him up
>tfw you now consider it as a possibility
>pulju 5th-7th overall
>to the fucking devils
kill yourself grease
Jagr was grumpy and declined interviews after the >rags game where he took stupid penalties. I'm pretty sure they mentioned on the Panthers broadcast that he trained alone at night while the team was sleeping and resting between back-to-back games.
The next day he scores 2 goals and is his happy smiling self again.
> So who are your favorite /hoc/ idols
Life long Detroit here, who was watching the Wings back during the "Dead Wing" days in the 70s-80s.
> and do you have their jerseys yet?
I'd like to get an oldy timey thrown-back jersey with Probert's name and number but their expensive as shit.
>Mrazek starting again
Is he, dare I say it, getting ahead of Howard?
friendly reminder they are a depth left winger and a middle of the road defender away from another cup
