How did Isaac Newton know that there was no air in space?
Wouldn't it have been more logical to him to assume that all of space is full with air, thus moon should fall to earth due to air resistance
>>9066841
Newton knew because he wasn't a retard
>>9066841
Torricelli had already invented the barometer and worked out air pressure and the vacuum. So the idea of vacuum in space was already in the air.
>>9066851
so they basically knew that air pressure gets lower, the higher you get, and thus they extrapolated that at some point air pressure is basically zero?

The Fibonacci sequence
Meme or truth?
How about you look into this babby's first math thing and see for yourself?
Just yet another meme. It was proven long ago that the sequence doesn't exist.

Couldn't see a SQT so could /sci/ explain to (brainlet) me how you resolve this?
>>9066752

kill yourself brainlet, at least type sqt in the search bar
[eqn]3 \,=\, 3 \,+\, 0 \,+\, 0 \,+\, 0 \,+\, \cdots[/eqn]
[eqn]3 \,+\, 1 \,=\, 4 \,+\, 1 \,+\, 1 \,+\, 1 \,+\, \cdots[/eqn]

That's not the same thing? You aren't using distributivity for multiplication
Scientifically speaking, is it possible for the events that occured in Adventure Time to happen in real life? (wierd life happens 1000 years after nuclear war)
scientifically i dont think we know enough to answer this question with any degree of accuracy
So......Yes! YES it IS!
You have to be at least 18 to post here
Is it true that Chicks have high IQ because if there language.
>>9066489
>if there
I don't think it's because of their language, women tend to be more average i.q, while men lean more on the higher side.

What is the question you're asking? Jesus
wtf i love black people now
A*b*c = a*c*b
A*b/c= a/c*b
2(3) = 2*3
This should clear things up for you brainlets.
thanks I now see why 58 is the only answer.
>>9066359
>2(3) = 2*3
Brackets first
2(3) = 6
2(3) =/= 2*3
2*3 is changing the question.

brackets first? 3 is done, there's nothing there to do with it.
Is it possible for the regeneration of nerves dead from delivery malfunction? Considering that the success of delivery is so incredibly inherent and subject to the given obstretrician or doctor, and there is room for error, should the delivered child continue to develop with the neurological issues unremedied, is it possible for them to regenerate through some sort of surgery; or has the window for recovery been completely shut on them?
>be finance major had to take cal 2
>wtf I love math now
pulling a 71 in cal 2 right now but got an 85 in stats. How hard is stochastic cal compared to linear algebra or differential equations?
what does /sci/ think of this man?

He has some entertainment value. Besides, alternative truths may help you examine the premises of your own beliefs.
>>9066076
literally /ourguy/, he destroyed america's most prominent scientist
>>9066967
>he destroyed america's most prominent scientist
Bill Nye is neither America's most prominent scientist nor was he destroyed by Ken Ham.

why is C++ so popular on /sci/? It's an inordinately complex language. Some good quotes i've seen:
"If you think C++ is not overly complicated, just what is a protected abstract virtual base pure virtual private destructor and when was the last time you needed one?" – Tom Cargill and the rest here http://harmful.cat-v.org/software/c++/
It seems most people who don't dislike C++ view it as C with classes, and actually know very little about the language's many, many ````features''''. If you are working on a large collaborative project, you will need to know the features used by your colleagues in order to maintain their code, and C++ programmers notoriously use every arcane feature they can remember in any given situation. I don't see why you don't just use C
Who care?
Operator overloading is a relevant abstraction for scientific calculations. So are classes with constructors and destructors. The C++ syntax is abhorrent though.

just because you're a mathematician doesn't mean you should use ADT's to make your code resemble traditional mathematics more closely

can science prove wich one is safer and better?
>>9065877
of course this implies no condom.
How can you do vaginal if all you fuck is traps?
>>9065877
>can science prove wich one is safer and better?
Vaginal obviously
Who's got it the best? Obviously people argue over what is more elite and what makes more money but what about the actual quality of life? Being a doctor seems like it'd be pretty dope as long as you weren't dealing with feces all day. Being a radiologist or anesthesiologist would be cool but the downside is 12 years of school. Petroleum engineers make a lot but who wants to be out in the middle of the ocean on an oil rig?
Pretty interested in physics but I wonder what specific type of physicist has it best. Nuclear? Theoretical? Experimental?

The best life would he living as an experimental physicist working on a high scale lab or super collider. Then retiring to an off grid location in the woods at age 55 to focus on doing theoretical physics.
CS careers have it good. I mean actual CS jobs, not code monkey stuff, in big companies like Google. You get to work in extremely comfortable environments, you are free to take long breaks, have your favorite snack and drink for free from a vending machine, play some table tennis with a coworker, play some videogames, watch a few anime episodes and then go back to your easy job, ocasionally taking shorter breaks to shitpost on 4chan. On top of it all, you enjoy the pleasant California weather, scenery and girls all year round. Or you could just do all this from the comfort of your own home because that's an option.
I'll be entering university soon. I'm very interested in working in the field of Artificial Intelligence. That being said, I don't plan on being someone's code monkey, I actually want to work on shit. Any advice for how I should focus my studies?
>>9065802
focus on mathematics (especially machine learning) and get into research
AI is just stats and probability.
