Daisuki is ending their streaming services. At one hand, /a/ is going full retard with the whole "muh torrenting mustard race", but at the other hand, some intelligent enough to understand how big is this for the industry as a whole.

>welcomeourCRoverlords.jpg

>>1556498
Not a bad happening at all.
Daisuki subs were way inferior to what fansubs or even CR could offer, really.
Also, lots of /a/ happenings today.

I don´t know if this fits here exactly, but the board seems like a fucking mess so I figured out that a thread would be ignored
Is there an archive or a simple infographic of some kind with all the known big shitposters? by big shitposters I mean those who are so repetitive and insistent that your average poster knows who they are and even avoids saying certain words that gets them summoned into the thread. If a general infographic doesn´t exist I would appreciate anything you can offer, I will do one myself if I get enough info

Why do you come on 4chan? Serious question.
You clearly hate the format if you encourage gaming it, so why are you here?
We used to be in a site where people treated bumping as an upvote, and sage as a downv0te, and that was BAD. Now on this board some people seem to treat botbumping as an upv0te and literally spamming a thread to the image/bump limit as a downv0te just because its unmoderated, how can you think thats good? Setting aside your weird ideology, how can you support that for ANYTHING? Depending on your response you will probably be seen as a r3dditor due to these extremely clear parallels, there is no shame in admitting i've changed your mind.

/v/ is a board full of people who will actively play along with bait of all kinds. "Oh, someone posted stupid and obvious garbage? Better play along with it and defend it!"
>>
>>>/a/161995071

/a/ is having a meltdown over the new series new yokio. Apparently, is animated by some japanese studio and have some anime influence on their designs. But the creative team and the whole setting, narrative and everything else is western. Is a similar case to old series like thundercats or Voltron.

Therefore, mods are taking down all discussion about it, but some people insists on posting, and apparently trolls are coming out of the woods to join the shitstorm.
>>
>>1561459
If it isn't originally broadcast or sold in Japan, and originally dubbed in the Japanese language, it doesn't belong on /a/.
>>
>>1561465
Actually I take it back. You could make threads about this only if it is strictly about the work of the animation studio with no discussion of plot, voicing, direction, etc.

>>1561478
Anime (Japanese: アニメ, [aɲime], plural: anime)[a] is a Japanese term for hand-drawn or computer animation. The word is the abbreviated pronunciation of "animation" in Japanese, where this term references all animation.[1] Outside Japan, anime is used to refer specifically to animation from Japan or as a Japanese-disseminated animation style often characterized by colorful graphics, vibrant characters and fantastical themes.[2][3]

Hmmm, what a hard conclusion to be drawn from this...
>>
>>1561485
>Outside Japan, anime is used to refer specifically to animation from Japan or as a Japanese-disseminated animation style often characterized by colorful graphics, vibrant characters and fantastical themes.

>>1561459
Apparently, is animated by some japanese studio and have some anime influence on their designs.

As someone that doesn't use /a/, this is an interesting argument.
>>
>>1561491
Quoting isn't a conclusion.
>>
>>1561485
I'm not sure why you cite wikipedia article for anime to talk about what's allowed on /a/.
Neo Yokio is not anime. And it's not allowed on /a/.

But this:
>If it isn't originally broadcast or sold in Japan, and originally dubbed in the Japanese language, it doesn't belong on /a/.
is completely and totally wrong. There are lots of examples which do not fall into this criteria, yet are allowed on /a/. All chink and korean shit. Interstellar 5555. That recent Porter Robinson's music video.
>>
>>1561498
Definitions can help you guys reach a conclusion.
>>
>>1561502
How can you not be sure about this?
The board is called anime and manga and to determine what anime is it's helpful to just google a definition to have a common base of discourse.
>>
>>1561507
That's why I posted it, but I'm wondering why you just quoted it.
Also I'm none of those, I don't care about this enough
>>
>>1561508
>The board is called anime and manga
Chinkshit is not anime/manga but allowed on /a/.
Koreanshit is not anime/manga but allowed on /a/.
Netflix Death Note and Hollywood GitS movies are not anime/manga, but they were allowed on /a/.

How about reading the fucking http://www.4chan.org/rules and lurking more instead of trying to deduce some shit from board's name.
>>
>>1561510
I quoted two posts because they both come to the same conclusion despite looking like they disagree. The fact that anime, by definition, isn't allowed on the anime board is interesting to me.
>>
>>1561512
>Netflix Death Note and Hollywood GitS movies are not anime/manga, but they were allowed on /a/.
The rules explicitly make an exception for those.
>>
>>1561515
Indeed.

>>1561584
He hates modern /a/ and is experienced in spamming dreadfully awful threads. Although, on the other hand he seems to get upset when moderation doesn't take swift action so he might not be able to handle /qa/.
>>
>>1561563
Those Jaden Smith "anime" threads are fucking bullshit though. Written by Westerners, voiced by famous western names, releases on Netflix (not in Japan). They just hired an anime studio to draw it, same shit as the Castlevania Netflix series. If Japan proper doesn't even really know it or care about it and it doesn't even air in Japan, aka it was never made for the actual industry, it doesn't count.

If Ford hired a Ferrari designer to make a cooler looking car, it's still a Ford on the inside including all the engine/ride/handling qualities that are blatantly not remotely Ferrari-esque. This doesn't really happen the other way around (that is, Japan hiring a Western studio) because why the everliving fuck would Ferrari want a Ford stylist.
>>
>>1561607
Just to make sure we're on the same line of thinking, what kind of 'dreadfully awful' threads do you believe he would spam?
>>
>>1561607
>He hates modern /a/
I doubt he knows ``old'' /a/. If there is one thing that 4chan teaches people over the years is to not get buttdevastated about stupid things. Imagine the world where /v/pol/co/ threads on /a/ get 100 reports and zero responses instead of 100 responses and 0 reports.
>>
>>1561584
because the guy you replied to is an underage retard who thinks spam is the solution to problems instead of ignoring and leaving them in the dust
>>
>>1561614
He rants against normalfags and blogging so I guess it would be the occasional blog threads mostly.
>>1561618
True.
>>
>>1561618
The old /a/ did have spam and dubspam all over the place in various forms - gorespam, accelspam, wikispam etc. Lolispammer tends to hit threads that legit didn't belong in the first place, but the thing is, doing that also serves to feed trolls to keep making those threads because they want the attention/hate of the board.

The true self moderation is to ignore a shit thread so hard that it dies.
>>
>>1561626
>The true self moderation is to ignore a shit thread so hard that it dies.
lol
>>
>>1561629
If you give a bad thread attention you are only helping it live longer. Maybe if you say anything at all, it's simply "fuck off" and that's it. Don't waste time with some fucking retard OP or give cancerous fags their (you)s.

I've seen plenty of really fucking bad/lame threads die with 0 posts in them and that is probably the starkest message one can send to the thread's OP, that he is literally fucking nothing to us, not worth enough merit or dignity to even be spoken to, to be ignored like a piece of dust. If a crap OP wants to be a fag and samefag bump his thread maybe it can't be helped, but even there just tell shitters to fuck off.

More or less, this time because there was no reason to censor the characters but devs just did.

>>
>>1568938
Yep. This is a fine example why you shouldn't listen to the vast majority of fans who want to contribute something to your creation. They don't know jack about it and they want to feel important just because they like it.
>>
>>1568945
What the fuck are you talking about?
>>
>>1568960
Some people wanted a film board to be made because they wanted to talk about movies. As expected, the board flopped because the casual shitposters from /tv/ (which is most of the users of that board) went there because it was an offshoot of that board, so they joined right in. Anyone who has a good understanding of 4chan knew the board wouldn't work.
>>
>>1568971
That's pretty normal, first its random people shitposting for a couple of hours them the real community is slowly drived in as the shitposters get bored and return to their own boards, same shit happened with /aco/, /bant/ and pretty much every other board
>>
>>1568971
The argument was "kick capeshit over there" sort of like "kick quest shit over there" or "kick black spam over there".
All iterations on the same broken idea.
>>
>>1568977
There's also the fact that movies can already be discussed on /tv/, so another board for them isn't really needed. I mean, hey, if mods want to try it again, this time with actually trying to contain the shitposting, I'd be all for it just to get an even better idea of the 4chan community.

>>1568980
There is nothing wrong with superhero movies, especially when they're such a big thing these days. But yeah, if it takes up the majority of a board with casuals that shit on it and other things related to the topic, the board becomes a mess. Touhou on /jp/ is an example of this. When a board starts to think posts that boil down to "I want to have sex." and "Look at what I masturbate to." is quality discussion, you know things have seriously gone to shit. It comes down to casuals who don't know or care for mature discussion, and regularly get away with it. They destabilize the series and the entire board because they don't actually have anything of worth to say relative to the topic, but want to remain somewhat socially relevant by posting something hardly related to it. The board becomes a mess, and the majority stop caring because there's nothing of value to be had by the people who do understand and respect the topic. A lot of the things that happen on 4chan only serve to push genuine fans away, and that makes it miserable for them. The website isn't a very fun place for people who remain true to what they like, and those people are generally the most interesting to talk to. Boards become more or less pointless, and the entire website basically becomes /b/.

>There's also the fact that movies can already be discussed on /tv/, so another board for them isn't really needed
AFAIK neither /tv/ or /co/ like having capeshit around, and unlike comics and cartoons you can discuss television and movies separately without the subjects constantly getting tangled

It could be possible, it's just that nobody has the will to make it good. Not the people who want the board (and make it a pointless shitpost zone), and not the mods who don't want to babysit yet another group of idiots.
>>
>>1569012
Its not the community, a big board will always have a minority with an unpopular opinion, /film/ would work if this part of the community self moderated while mods striked down for a while but because /tv/ is one of the big guys mods would need to work extra hard to make the transition work and keep /film/ from just becoming a /tv/ spin off
>>
>>1569026
That's what I'm saying. The most damaging parts of a community have more control than anyone but the mods who can't combat them. Even the users can't self-moderate because any and all attention will appease the minority that are attention addicted sociopaths.

Then become what you hate and instigate people to cause damage in a direction that only harms those who cause damage.
Conflict that exists only because it internally contains those prone to conflict.
