Well shit

I hate how you rarely get feedback on a report. You never know if it was even seen or just dismissed as a false report (yet I was never banned for false reporting despite reporting a lot). You never know if it was right or wrong to report something or if the mods just don't care or share a different opinion.
Sometimes a thread/post is deleted but that's it.
I hate how obscure the whole moderation system and team is.
A short feed back saying that it was right/wrong to report it and why would help both parties.
/rant
>>
>>1447701
You might as well ask a mod for their phone number, ain't gonna happen.
>>
>>1447702
Giving feedback on some (doesnt have to be all) reports is not equivalent to receiving a phone number and the fact that you use this analogy only shows how bad it is.
>>
>>1447516
what do you mean?
>>
>>1447707
What makes you so special that you need this information even though nobody else receives this information either
>>
>>1447701

>>
>>1447708
The spam
>>
>>1447710
>anything they say can be used against them
Yeah, I imagine thats the reason why they don't talk much unless there is a solid consensus between them
>>
>>1447709
Where did I imply that only I should get it?
It shouldn't be a secret what happens to reports. Users can see how the rules are l interpreted and know what and when to report thus relieving mods from unjustified reports

>>1447710
That's what I gather from it. Being transparent would also mean they could be accountable for what they do and it doesn't seem to be in their interest.
It would also show how inconsistent the moderation is and that some groups receive special treatment.

I'd host my own chan but it will probably be dead in an months
>>
>>1447701
Pro-tip: wait a couple hours. If the thread is still alive, more likely than not, the janitors consider it kosher and will remain alive and you're full of shit.

Also, you can try to report it again, just to be sure. If you can, then effectively, some janitor looked the report, classified it as false or unfounded, and removed it from the queue. If you can't ("You have already reported this thread"), then it means the janitors haven't looked the report and is still on the wait.
>>
>>1447759
The problem is that rules like "no avatarfaggin" (rule 12 or so) are relatively vague and it's just frustrating when you can't communicate WHY you think said rule is broken.
Don't get me started on "quality of posts is important to us!". That's the rule mods use for their power fantasy but a user could never use it for a (even if it's justified) report.

The mods don't reach any group consensus. Most times its one mod acting out on his own and the opthers just let him get away with it. Mods like yournamehere and nana-chan need to be fired for being massive faggots who think they can change and make up rules whenever they want to.

It used to be the case that when a mod or janitor cleared the report, the "you have already reported this post" message went away if you tried to report it again. They changed that because people noticed and started deliberately re-reporting posts when the reports had been cleared. It worked because, as we know, different mods enforce the rules differently.

Mods detest userbase uprisings. And it's a known fact that spergs will shitpost for months because of the slightest mod change

Problem is that they don't seem to recognize that userbase uprisings happen because of any reason despite anything they do, so they might as well moderate publicly, autists will always hate them
>>
>>1450402
I'd hate them less if they'd be more transparent.
At the moment they seem like people who hate the community so they keep out as much as possible, don't know the individual boards so they delete/ban (or don't at all) the wrong shit.
They are antagonising themselves by being so elusive.
>>
>>1450627
>At the moment they seem like people who hate the community so they keep out as much as possible

In the contrary. Read their chats in the IRC leaks about random things. Their attitude is so painfully 4channish you'd think they are unqualified for the job. They are just like any other poster.

But yes, by closing themselves off from the community they allow the community to weave their own narrative over what the mods do. Nobody knows anything about them so they invent their own answer which are inevitably "mods are bad because they don't enforce the my idea of what 4chan is"

The fact that they are now owned by a man that's way too busy to give the site full time attention and all administration was relegated to a soulless senior doens't help.

They have lost all aility to do gradual changes this way. Instead of approaching a major change sensibly they just go all out and ban anyone who disagrees or even asks questions. Which inevitably leads to a user uprising, which leads to a single mod post saying "this was changed because x" with no explanation or context so people get even angrier.

This has happened more than once. So many, so many things would have been easier if the mods actually went and communicated with people
>>
If you have questions and want answers just fucking go to IRC and ask them directly. They always answer unless your question is completely retarded.

There's this site called taringa, it's like an Argentinian 4chan mixed with reddit or tumblr. The worst part of each.

Back in 2015 they tried to "raid" /b/.

Raiding fucking /b/ out of all places. Obviously, it was a colossal failure, and set an example to all others websites that could try to do the same.

But bring it on. Taringa was such ridiculous failure nobody remembers and, 4chan didn't even attempted to take revenge.
>>
>>1451606
Well, they managed to flood all of /bant/'s catalog away, not that it makes a difference on a no topic board
>>
>>1450828

Wouldn't a raid on 4chan invite a counter raid?

I feel like something like this should be stopped before it can happen, but there is no way for us to stop it from happening.
>>
>>1451606
Taringa is nothing like 4chan is just reddit and tumblr mixed with a bunch of south american users, more on the "raid": they tried posting gay porn and gore on /b/ thinking it would shock them (lol) then after the failed raid someone from taringa made an image with bad english saying they are gonna counter-raid taringa (as a 4chan falseflag) of course nothing happened but people there were freaking out and when the date of the fake raid came they changed the logo of the website for a trollface, it was pretty pathetic desu
>>

>>1451606

Wrong. The newer userbase (which are the only ones involved in screencap stuff) has hardly been around long enough nor has it ever even known the site well enough to feel some sort of 'exhaustion'. Rather, the shoving of their ideas down everyone's throats relentlessly show they are the type to plop down wherever they are and be purposely unoriginal in an effort to drown us all in their drivel. That is the new generation of the Internet. The rest of us keep it real and never say never. We're only outnumbered.

you didn't get banned for replying; you got banned for HOW you replied. had you told the hijacker "fuck off retard", you probably wouldn't have gotten banned. it's the fact that the mod was pissed that you (guys) were entertaining his bullshit instead of self-moderating but whatever.

Partially, yes, a few guys are riding on the crypto crash to post dank memes. However, that doesn't mean the crash isn't real, and more importantly, the few legit investors browsing the board are shitting their pants. This is a real happening and have been going on for a couple weeks now, and quite probably will go for some more.

Is a good chance to invest in a few "trustable" (lol) coins, as they are cheaper (I wouldn't invest in something else than BTC), and this event will weed out the weakling coins, but man, at any minute I'm expecting people to jump through windows.

If you want to improve a board without the mods on your side you have to realize that you must essentially become a troll/spammer/manipulator and etc.

I'm surprised so few of the devoted members of boards realize that if you want things to be good, sometimes you have to get your hands dirty.

Sometimes I think mods and jannies are some experimental AI that's easy to fool. Once you know the exploits.
You can make off topic threads as long as one part of a sentence is on topic.
The mod/janny AI will think it's on topic discussion and leave the thread alive although people are just pretending to talk on topic.
It's such an obvious tactic where sometimes even the OP image is already indicator of the intended off topic discussion.
>>
Sometimes I think human beings are some experimental AI that is easy to fool. Once you know the exploits.
You can perform normally unacceptable remarks and actions as long as one part of your behavior is appreciable enough.
The human AI will think it's appreciable behavior and leave you be or even cheer you on although you are just pretending to be an AI like them.
It's such an obvious tactic where sometimes you literally throw someone into a wall and everyone just sort of ignores it.

Lately I realized that this reality is a simulation, and your consciousness is just a side effect of the simulation. So, this is a weird manufactured version of reality, but some rules still apply to it and basically you're right about people they are just objects that abide by certain sets of rules and logic. So, it's not exactly simple but yeah you can definitely figure out the programming of a person and manipulate them based on that understanding as long as you have that capability within your rulesets..

/fk/ is way older than that

you forget the not4chan site boards, which where mainly loli variants (ie shota, guro, loli, iirc torrents shota or something, but there were at least four boards before 4chan and not4chan broke all linking)

you could try downloading the 4chan doc

/lgbt/ is really a compilation of a lot of diverse people and most of them are not gay, but rather male to female trannies. So it'd be more like /g/ having a Computer general or /mu/ having a rock general, perhaps a bit stupid but understandable as it keeps the L B and importantly the T out.
