I have heard there was a significant amount of Jews within in the city of Pompeii and several of the surrounding cities. A bathhouse in Pompeii contained pic related as well of some other sexual scenes.
Were these depictions common in bathhouses around the Roman Empire, or is it unique to Pompeii? And is there any evidence of theses images being the work of the Jews who lived within the city?

What are the best critiques of Jordan Peterson?

A lot of idiot freelance "authors" do a distorted Sam Harris routine, creating word vomit amounting to "his assumptions are self-evidently unreasonable!" Very few people are equipped to begin arguing on the assumptions of logicians like Peterson or Harris. We discard these audacious brainlets for free.

I would certainly like to see someone derive a significant contradiction from Peterson's Maps of Meaning. In abundance are flat, lifeless attacks on the Jordan's axioms, which I find irritating. Such arguments deceitfully abuse the highly technical implementation of Philosphy as a formal -- and *useful* -- discourse. I'm irritated because there is an inexplicable eagerness to invoke vapid thought exercises as a 'good' refutation. Well what makes it good at all? A rebuttal is good if it is useful. Then what is usefulness,or utility? Well, it seems utility is precisely what everyone wants to toss out! This is not a trivial move. Do we not notice that? Does everyone have a good reason to ignore it? I demand a defense for that idea. Peterson's ideas are fundamentally utilitarian. He declares pain and suffering as both the individual and collective enemy, then develops tools with which to stave it off! That doesn't sound like a very malign or ignoble hypothesis, does it? So again, what good is it to slam abstract tools of philosophy together into a loosely functioning 'case' against Peterson? Can't anyone describe a more appropriate way to direct our collective attention, than to end suffering? If we can't, then why aren't we interested in what Peterson has built so far? A contradiction given Peterson's assumptions is the only good refutation to have, for now. At least then we've improved the navigation tools for our retched lives.

How do we discern what is worthwhile from the primary and secondary literature of postmodernism? That would be a good start.

From what I can tell, the general consensus is that Communism is a failed system, which seems obvious given the track record of Communist nations. However, I have also heard that all real-world implementations of Marxist principles have not accurately reflected his ideas. Is this the case, and would things have ended differently had the system been implemented differently?

FREAKY NEW BILL PASSED THE SENATE!!!
S.722 - Countering Iran's Destabilizing Activities Act of 2017 is far more about Russia than Iran, & on top of that, makes the President a punishable slave of the system!

I don't know how crap like this even gets written, but it passed with a majority of 98 percent in the Senate. If it does pass the house & then get ratified, it may result in a hot war against Russia.
It pretends to be about Iran, don't let it fool you.
Only the first 25 percent of the bill says anything about Iran at all. After the first 25 percent or so (which is long all by itself) it then calls Russia a supporter of Iran, & goes on an extended enormous rant about how Russia literally needs to be cut off from the rest of the world financially and economically, because "Russia provides support to Iran".
There is no explanation whatsoever for why Russia needs to be punished for "supporting Iran" because if there was, Iran would have to be mentioned at least once in the Russian section!
Why would a bill written to punish Iran, & titled to punish Iran & in the summary talk only about Iran in fact be mostly about Russia once read? Obviously they are trying to pull the wool over everyone's eyes with this!
The bill is also mostly about usurping Presidential powers, & forcing the President to do a heck of a lot of work to make this bill happen
It says right at the beginning that it is not about usurping Presidential powers, but all through the bill the President is physically ordered to do this & that. I did not think the Prez could be ordered to do anything at all, but this bill makes the President look like a crud scraping employee.
Read it though. You will quickly realize that the only appropriate response from Iran and Russia would be world war 3.
I can't believe anyone but the deep state would EVER PEN THIS
