Dying Fetus - Wrong One to Fuck With
does it deserve the praise?
I appreciate them making an album with a more distinct sound rather than try to impersonate their previous sounds.
I like it a lot.
>>72431595
Fuck it, it's a 5.
>>72431595
>fairly consistent songs
>comeback album after 22 years and not shit
I think the praise is fair for it unless everyone claims that is a masterpiece when it truly isnt
just a solid record and my expectations werent really high t b h
Why are there 2 versions and which one should I listen to?
There are 2 versions because Efrim is a jew and didn't want to spend money on 2x LP pressings so he went out of his way to record more material and make it a cheaper single LP
>>72431490
Those are just alt covers, not different versions.
Unless you mean the vinyl version and the CD version, in which case I prefer the CD, but the vinyl is till worth getting for the neato packaging stuff
>>72431531
Rym lists the 38 minute version while wikipedia lists the 1 hour version so I'm kinda lost
I was going through my old songbook and found some lyrics I'd written that made me cringe into a singularity, what about you faggots, have you written something to regret it so much later ?
For those interested, the lyrics I wrote were;
>I want to be better, but how can I be when I'm reminded I'm useless
>but maybe I'm a stupid boy
>and maybe I was born to die
>maybe I want it all
>maybe I think too much

They're not that bad, just kind of bland
The key, for me personally, to writing good lyrics is just not being on the fucking nose and using cliches. Just twist language a little, play with the words. And sometimes it can be lyrics like yours in the OP, OP. If it fits, has a nice rhythm and works with the music who gives a fuck.
>>72431522
Tbf, now I just write the lyrics after I've finished the chord progression and have a general feel for what I want it to be about, reading old stuff does actually make me want to end myself though at how try hard it was.

Gotta start somewhere
I used to write raps when I was inspired to by Odd Future and though I can't find them, surely they were god awful horrorcore lyrics. I had fun though and you learn something every time if you don't put yourself in a box.
The best place to start is realizing how shit you were or how shit you are. Most don't even think to that point, most people who write songs don't think beyond "I made this so it's good".
Just listening to some Neil Young. Whats /mu/'s opinion on him?

He's a great song writer and an underrated guitarist
>>72431479
>>72431581
Sadly youtube doesn't have the studio versions anymore (even though he's a great live performer of course). Pocahontas is one of my favourite songs from any musician, the whole Rust Never Sleeps album is perfect from start to finish. Powderfinger is another standout on the album.
Off the top of my head, definitely check out Cowgirl in the Sand.
>>72431479
Legend. Probably the greatest solo musician of all time, up there with any classic artist you can think of.
Worst female Artist? Yes, Yes that would be me.
>>72431367
All of them.
>>72431367
Worst /mu/ poster for sure.
>>72431367
Who is this?
Is pretending to like U2 some kind of new ironic meme here?
>>72431265
It must be
No, pretending not to like U2 is the new ironic meme.
Has been a meme for years m8. If I listen to their early albums I can understand how people like it, not for me though.
holy fuck, this is actually really good
it's like Campfire Songs meets Sleep Cycle
do you think they'll drop the clean psych-pop sound and go back to grittier sounding psych-folk?
or do you think this is a one time thing?
>>72431163
i am really hoping these are like b-sides from shit avey and geo have been working on for the next album. maybe the next album will be geo avey and deak only, no panda.
would be dope. no offense Pandy Bear. But yes, this record gets better every listen. Selection of a Place is amazingly good.
Their next album will be like this. It will have a running time of 72 minutes and have 8 tracks
>>72431206
i'd be okay with this.

As we all know, white trash are responsible for making terrible music. This includes: insane clown posse, kid rock, limp bizkit for example. But what are some white trash themed or albums made by white trash that are actually really good?
Pic related, probably the best white trash album ever.
shit thread
>>72430975
beck isn't white trash you idiot
How is Beck white trash? Everyone I know who likes him are effeminate, upper-middle class hipsters.
White trash music is stuff like Korn or Static-X, just really janky metal you'd hear on WWE or something.
does he have autism?
No, but he does
>>72430946
he's pointing at me
no he was just a normally weird guy who decided to use that to his advantage, accentuate it and make it part of his band's image
I've been going through the 2Pac discog. and going from Strictly for my niggas and 2pacalypse to this is insane.
To think that all he did was get locked up at this point. I can see why people were trippin
>oh shit a B+/A- indie album who is this kid
>oh shit he's getting even better
>OH SHIT BIGGIE SHOT HIM
>OH SHIT A CLASSIC 9.5/10
>ALL EYEZ ON ME WHAT FIRST DOUBLE ALBUM IN HIPHOP
>MAKAAAAAAAAAAAVELI HE PREDICTED HIS DEATH AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
I lik 2pack
and I didn't even go through any Thug Life shit. Is that mandatory? I've been digging the first two albums quite a bit. Surprised at how strong he started. Trapped and Dont Give a Fuck is crazy
