Actually EqG did so incredibly bad that it lowered the value of the entire MLP brand, and since Hasbro is only interested in money one could argue that EqG is killing MLP.

Discord warps reality, so Thanos won't be able to land a punch easily and most magic attacks won't work. Discord is so broken, he has to be cancelled out or begged to be an ally on the show.

That said, Thanos is a master of the arts and sciences. He is Cosmic tier, and single handily beat up the Annihilators. He is strong, knows how to fight, mastered the sciences so he can make machinations of all kinds that can perform some of the basic magic seen on the show, and has very strong offense magic. He is trained and very clever, he has outwitted and outplayed Cosmic players bigger than him without fighting them. His will is so strong, he has lived through entire realities that shreds apart his body and mind and came back intact.

And what sets Thanos apart, is his almost perverse obsession with Death, so you have a very strong villain who not only doesn't fear Death, he is romantically in love with Death.

It seems like Discord would play around with Thanos for a while, but considering Discord was tricked by Tirek, Thanos would likewise outwit the chaos lord or find a way to trick him, and when Discord shows a moment of weakness, Thanos would break Discord in a moment. Whoever had the initial advantage would probably hold that position for awhile, but Thanos has been in practically every situation already, and Discord, while powerful, is just not as ruthless as Thanos, or as ruthless as the enemies, of which there are many, of Thanos.

I've been following the site for a while now and it's relatively rare they provide some actual information aside from reciting the abstract of the papers they talk about.
Provided, when they do get slightly more technical, it is great. It tends to not be the case.

I'm looking for stuff like the old series on astronomy on teh Goons' site where they had a scientist go through the interesting happenings in the sphere for the past week, usually in a more technical but still perfectly readable format.
