So much for having more space for names!
Posted this at the end of last thread because great timing
Top Left, Top Right, Bot Left, Bot Right
13 Children - allows both Vifam unit to specifically Support each other an infinite amount of times (y'know, in case you wanted to use Enable on them???)
Armour Lv2 - Reduces final damage by Lv*5%
"Trust Correction" Lv 4 - Vifam and Neofam gains +12 Morale when adjacent to each other (for the purpose of damage calculation only, doesn't affect unlocked attacks)
Hey, cheers for the assist, friend! Hopefully other interesting abilities can be cataloged in the future. (Probably not, but I can dream for as long as I remained obsessed!)
>(y'know, in case you wanted to use Enable on them???)
Or if they were getting ganged up on, suppose. Lots of support defending.
I wonder if the +12 morale exceeds the limit of 150 for damage calculation or not.
>Or if they were getting ganged up on, suppose. Lots of support defending.
Actually, I need to correct myself for grossly interpreting the "13 Children" ability... I think - it's actually a "disadvantage" ability - Vifam and Neofam can ONLY support each other with their Support actions - they can receive Support Attack/Defends from other units, but they won't give a shit about chipping in themselves.
Oh, I see. Well, that's...odd for an ability, but I guess there'd be a reason for that. It's not exactly something that would seem to be a little more than a nuisance anyway. Though I'm assuming that means the supports are limited in number as well as recipient, then.
Speaking of odd abilities, I've actually kind of grown to like this guy.
Seems like that ability is there to make up for the fact the Vifam/Neofam's pilots get a huge number of Support Levels - they hit Support Level 4 really fast when most characters top out at level 1.
I'm starting to think all the menu icons are in the .exe or something, because I looked through all 17 .dats and didn't find any images for SAVE, LOAD, or whatever. And straight up blanking out the text file that handled menu stuff in FMW2 didn't even touch the icons either.
At this rate the game's script will be in english but all of its menus will be in japanese, which is like the exact opposite of the typical SRW patch.
It's the special attacker event where all the item drops are exp pinatas for attacker units. You get upgrade materials from drop complete so I figured I might as well do it. And also just the whole thing about me liking to get drop complete.
Yeah at this point, I'm calling it. Unless somebody manages to crack the .exe and tell us how the hell the menu icons are being displayed, we won't be able to translate the menus.
...Not that this should even be an issue, since presumably if you're playing FMW3 you played the first two games and should know how the menus work by now.
I'd have to check the data to see whether or not her Map attack is supposed to have unique music.
...According to the in-game database, the songs Cross Ange is supposed to have are it's first opening, it's second opening, and ."Eternal Story (Light)." If that answers any questions.
She's the only Cross Ange unit, so I'd say not.
Depends on how easy you make it to crit - if it's a modern game where you can have normal characters hit +50 crit chance easily, ok, but if it's GC where getting crits is like pulling teeth sometimes then fuck it - but in general I'd say that's a bit too much RNGwork.
I was just going off of what the English used for the appropriate midi file was as listed in the game's sound test.
Considering the game gives you an entire list of music that's supposed to correspond to the units within the game, I really wish it was easier to find said midis. All the options I've used didn't work out and/or have become lost as I've forgotten what I tried. I just remember using a 21-part file set that had a handful of songs that the game said were supposed to be used, and the rest were unrelated stuff like Fire Emblem and other RPG songs.
Speaking of SRC, there's another update just recently released. Can't really decipher much of what's going on, but at least one thing has something to do with KOS-MOS.
Oh, okay. The Japanese title is 永遠語り~光ノ歌~, you might be able to use the version from the OST if the game lets you load MP3/FLAC. If it forces MIDI, then there's no point in trying to find it anyway as the whole point of that song is Nana singing.
Now if only someone could point out the bug that makes Genesic GaoGaiGar and Burglarydog completely inaccessible.
As an aside, while I continue my obsessive cataloging, how's this cutie and her beloved in X-O?
>you might be able to use the version from the OST if the game lets you load MP3/FLAC
The engine loads MP3s even if you change the filename to .mid, tested it myself
Now FLAC, I want to say "probably no" because Japanese coding
>As an aside, while I continue my obsessive cataloging, how's this cutie and her beloved in X-O?
Bizarrely-low maximum stats for an SSR due to the fact that it's not a gasha unit (event reward), but it has three offensive passives despite being a Defender.
Anyone recognize these four songs?
They're not terrible because you could easily get 5 of them, and FUBing a single unit is almost always better than a non-FUB'd unit that's supposed to be stronger - and it's fucking cheap for an SSR, only costs 15 I think, so it can fit into your team easier.
Problem is, its actual strength is lower to compensate for the weight, and it's a Defender, and most people don't use Defender teams. I made her my leader though, since she's still going to be better than Exia (as soon as I get enough upgrade materials for her, at least.)
It was also absolutely no effort to get five copies of her.
>It was also absolutely no effort to get five copies of her.
The last stage in that event was bullshit due to the too-sturdy shooter enemies with the insane knockback. I did it once and that was it. Fuck it, I don't care that my Imber's only going to hit 75. I really, really don't care.
OE made me like the little RyuKnight here. Interesting tidbit, besides getting one more combo attack than Neo/OE gave him (and letting him keep them after switching to RyuPaladin), Zephyr gets the SRC equivalent of voice clips whenever you cast a spirit with him.
You know how you can make that completely invalid? You use Defenders. They have no knockback and maul any Shooters.
Which was, I'm pretty sure, the point of the event. Introducing enemies that actually make Defenders something worth using, and giving you a decent Defender to use to fight them.
Happy to have been of service, then.
WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO YOU, ADIEU?
>Buro Ga Ruun
...Yeah, I can't think of what that last attack is meant to be. Probably because I haven't seen Ryu night in ages, though.
Given Magidora's naming scheme, I want to make an assumption it'll have something to do with wind, but I've seen nothing of Ryuknight, so you'd know better than I. Unless it's meant to be dipping into the odd bit of side-material like a voice drama or a manga adaptation or something.
Now that I've added in like 2 Battleships, I should do a "Custom Units Only" run
>Given Magidora's naming scheme, I want to make an assumption it'll have something to do with wind
Zephyr has a few vaguely wind related things - like its name - but I dunno about that.
Magidora has all sorts of spells. I can remember a fire, wind, and ice spell off the top of my head, though I think it had lightning too? That was more Steru's thing though.
It might be from the OVAs. Fuck if I know, no one subbed those and they're apparently not very good. Or it might be from the show and I'm just forgetting it because I like to block most of the latter half of that show out, there's a lot of dumb shit from it.
Guess what the gacha doesn't ever want to give me? You guessed it: Defenders. At the time I only had two, and both were underlevelled. Right now, I have 5, but only two are usable (Imber and Psyco Gundam). The others are either not level-broken at all (Mao and Lockon), or something I absolutely refuse to use and will fuse it off the moment it hits level 40 (Getter-3).
Could SRW handle the glory of its transformation sequence, though?
>So is the Shield Liger capable of upgrading to the Blade Liger?
Nah, too much trouble to implement.
I just gave it semi-OE style powers of being Getter Robo with the Command Wolf and Gustav.
Though the Command Wolf kind of blows so I guess it's more like (Insert Two-Form Unit here)
I had NO Defenders at the time, aside from a level 1 guy and a fucking Getter 3. I still pulled out with all the Imbers, and with that, my level 1 guy, and a few Shooters, I pulled it off.
Super Inazuma Kick and Imber's finisher were very useful for killing everything in the event, since their finishers are so fucking powerful and hit a wide range of things.
It'd just be a permanent transformation, after... I dunno, Van gets 50 kills or something. Or hits level X.
You reminded me it's possible to decompile Game Maker executables, which did confirm that FMW3 lists all of its menus in the executable file.
If we had all the extensions Sanbondo had we could edit that then recompile, but we don't so yeah. This seems like the kind of thing that might be fixable given enough time and effort but...
You really should know the menus by now, and the game script is more important anyway.
Did have fun decompiling the fmw4 trial .exe and re-finding all of those spoilers that got mentioned a while back though.
Game ends at stage 75, which would make the whole thing 90 stages total. 94 if you count Sakuya's gaiden.
>It'd just be a permanent transformation, after... I dunno, Van gets 50 kills or something. Or hits level X.
I might think about it... though strangely, no one statted the Blade Liger in SRC
So, I have access to all of the files referenced by this id file (it's just txt) that start with STRM. It's all the voice files plus those four songs I linked earlier.
Not a bad battleship in-game. One thing I noted while I played was that it could have a pretty lengthy sequence for it's strongest attack. I know that most battleship animations in SRW involve their strongest attack having a long sequence of getting the main cannons ready and whatnot, it makes me wonder just what kind of superior firepower Yamato's holding on to.
After "STRM_", there's a one or two character code that specified what series each block of entries is from.

The rest of UX's audio is locked away in a single file.
There's a partial map of the bcsar structure, but I'm not sure if it's enough to extract it.
Decided to take a FANCY PICTURE while I was playing this time.
>a fangame running on an engine that uses mechanics that are literally 15 years old
The mechanics are surprisingly playable when it isn't under the hands of Winkysoft, the Anti-Midas
And 3DS CFW. Don't forget the CFW.
And the Z2.2 LP
It doesn't look like it's going to be as good as the previous two entries in the Z series. And me playing around with UX.
Speaking of UX, I think I'm looking through the UX battle quotes files. I've mapped out the file header and the body section headers. However, the data itself seems to be compressed.
All of them are events except the Exia (from the first special gacha) and the Dancouga (from another special gacha, though I forget which).
I do have all the event SSRs though. Except Sazabi Powered, that is, but eh.
I finished gundam 0079 and I'm moving onto zeta gundam woo

SRW OG: Episode 4 - the awakening
It's about the children of the OG folks time traveling to save them from their tragic fates. They bring things like weiss eisen, Dai Banpreios, Giganlion, Wild Falcon and Wild Eagle, Grungust Bein, etc.
If Cleo's one of the component's pilots, then I believe so. Component machines are the one thing I haven't been taking shots of, but most anything that's a combiner gets its individual components playable as well.
Imagine fitting alternate versions of Odio into the canon of various other mecha series.
I should replay LIVE A LIVE soon.

Their names would need to have anagrams sneaked in somewhere (e.g. some letters in Dragonar's Dorchenov's name can be rearranged to spell "ODEO").
Pretty cool to hear so, then, so thanks.
Odd little unit, this one. I'm not sure how his abilities properly operate, but when I fielded him a few times, using certain attacks changed his mode and locked him into certain moves? At the very least, his movelist would suddenly become less than what the pic shows.
Nearly all of them, though the first half of the list are based on the moves the pilot used while on foot, they seem to be psychic moves that cause status effects as well as damage on occasion.
Ah, cheers for the explanation.
>the first half of the list are based on the moves the pilot used while on foot, they seem to be psychic moves that cause status effects as well as damage on occasion.
Whoever made it sounds like a cool guy.
They'll be disappointed, then, Twinbee's the only one in the game so far. (Though the text file for units shows at least some minor programming for the inclusion of something it could have a combo attack with)
Our cannon god has a really distinctive look, doesn't he.
Always fun when somebody recognizes something while I'm doing my cataloging. So what's this big guy all about?
Well, to be fair, Matt, you've been one of the only ones commenting on most of the ones I shove in here, repeats or otherwise.
Though even you've been uninterested enough to stay quiet on some, I believe. Like Blodia and FX-1. Or this guy.
Man. Is it worth it for a chance to be stuck with Seed?
Probably to encourage you to hold on to what you do have. At the moment, though, I'm doing pretty well for units so I might not even bother with the gacha for a couple months. I also have a ton of tickets saved up so when I get the third Base Gacha I'm going to see what I can pull out of that.
>Probably to encourage you to hold on to what you do have.
Well, the intention is to lower the potential draws to increase the power of what you're pulling - you can build up a lot of a single unit in a shorter period of time if there's less SRs and the cost is lower. It's just that most of this month's draws are shit (capped by poor Getter 3 being completely useless since there still isn't a +Land part), which kills the viability of it for this month.
I think that's the transformed version Dai-Sword, something we covered a couple of threads ago. Normally it's green but it's upgrade is silver like the one in the image, and it has a standard mode, a sword mode and one other mode I'm not sure what it is. I couldn't really dig up any information about the manga itself, other than it was written by Hasegawa, but it looks neat.
Thinking about dumb ideas for things to make with the Eternity engine...
>a battleship original
>begins game with Attack Again and Continuous Action
>captain has max jenius tier stats but losing your good unit loses you the mission
Yeah, it's DaiSword Integral, the upgraded version. Some screens have it in sword mode because, since they're both Hasegawa works, apparently, the sword form has a combo attack with Dancouga BURN.
There's a lot of ships Z3 should've given us
I don't have a 3DS, this may change now that it's finally piratable and I can play games in the language I want, so I never played Awakening or Fates. Trusty friends told me Awakening is very good, and I do want to try out Fate because it's the first entry since forever to actually have new mechanics. But if there's one thing I don't like about it is that they kept the chara designer from Awakening.
I don't get how people actually like this design when they all have the same ultra pale skintone and face in a worse way than stuff like Hirai designs.
I hope they make at least two more PS3 games. I'm such a poorfag and a joblessfag that I can't afford a PS4 and its games right now. That and it would be a waste to not recycle Z3 and 2nd OG's engine at least once
Theres no way in hell they will make a game for a dead console like the PS3, they have better chances making it for PSVita, Bandai Namco has started to move to the PS4 they will force BP to move to PS4 as well. PS3 is a hard/complicated console to develop for while PS4 is just a PC so development costs are cheaper and easier.
>Theres no way in hell they will make a game for a dead console
As I said, they already have the engine done, so it wouldn't be too expensive to make new games. Also, Bandai Namco still releases tales of games for the PS3, so there's that at least
Should have used Z2 or Z3 as an example
>Time slip to the future

I kinda want this to happen
I want to play Mugen no Frontier as my first SRW game
My problem isnt so much moonrunes but the fact that I dont watch many mecha anime (i do like them though)
What I watch that I remember is about gundam wing and 00
Can I still enjoy it? I'm literally just playing it for suzukahime to be straight up honest here
Endless Frontier is in english, and doesn't play like a traditional SRW. Mileage varies for the most part, but many people find the juggling combat system fun. You can still enjoy it without getting into mecha.
Endless Frontier is a completely different game from most SRWs, and works completely differently. The only crossovers it has are the Namco X Capcom crew (you might know them in their current incarnation in Project X Zone), and Xenosaga.
Clearly whatever Argent's from isn't worth the effort of a unit graphic OR a face graphic.
So going by Demonbane's metafiction rules, since Demonbane is in UX, SRW is part of the Demonbane metaverse, and since SRW is connected to Endless Frontier, which is connected to NXC/PXZ, all of those worlds are part of the Demonbane metaverse too.

Can you REMOVE VAGAN without the power of your precious missile?
He has the Plasma Diver Missile if you armor purge him (or whatever that action is called like going from Black Selena -> Akito Aesti).
It's definitely not as strong as BX's 9999 base damage version though
Huh, you're right. I swear I don't remember having that when you upgrade him to this mech from his Gen 1 form.
Guess it has something to do with the timeframe the final upgrade represents, since when you first upgrade, Flit's wearing goggles then. Or maybe I just have a terrible memory. Well, there goes my attempt at humor.
I mean, unless this box art is somehow fake, I'm pretty sure it did.
Haven't played it myself, though, so I can't judge the quality of the translation.
>Haven't played it myself, though, so I can't judge the quality of the translation.
It's Duwang tier with mistakes like Lemon Browning becoming Raymond Blowning so it's impossible to tell what the link to OG is.
I was pissed about that, but I managed to be even more pissed at the fact that we STILL don't get the Battle 25/Frontier at any point.
It doesn't help that I hate the Quarter, I like the crew but that ship is just awful.
Anyone know what this says? Its been preventing me from doing the stage and I haven't had this pop up on any stage after it.
So given that it seems pretty useful, why don't Gundroids get seen more often? Or is there a reason aside from Macross II probably not being popular?
If that was from the movies, then okay because I haven't watched them, but if it was the TV series then I guess my brain is just going.
That reminds me, though, Delta looks like it'll be fun.
That was the TV series, it was that time where the Quarter hit the Battle Galaxy and then the Frontier came in all "I GOT THIS BRO", and got this it did.
In the movies, it gets turned into a Vajra Ship by a computer controlled by the Galaxy heads that was basically the final boss.
That said, isn't the Battle 7 the same type of ship?
Didn't the Quarter use the Macross Cannon Sword on something around that point too? That wasn't a thing in the movies, which makes me sad (though FORMATION BIG WEDNESDAY makes up for it.)
So if none of the main character's mecha's forms are called Gordian, why is the anime called Gordian?
>Not selling shitloads of games and units

>mfw some /v/ermin said OG ost is shit near me
They already used their engine for OG/SRWZ3, they clearly can use the same engine for PS4 since that isn't a problem now, and it would be more cost effective and easier for them to do.
Zestiria came out for PS3 AND Ps4, Besteria also but they are clearly moving to PS4
>Besteria also but they are clearly moving to PS4
If by PS4 you mean PC.
They've been basically backporting all the Tales games onto Steam, as they realize PS4 is a dead end. Even Berseria is going to be a dual PC release as well.
>Even Berseria is going to be a dual PC release as well.
Those quads cannot lie to me, can they?
No point lying about it, maybe if it wasn't a prequel to a kusoge like Zesty giving me zero expectations, but as it stands PS3 version will be Japan only whilst the worldwide release is a dual PS4/PC release.
It's just one title man, though I admit anything after Vesperia just isn't too good for me.
I wish they kind of went back to the classic system though, maybe some elaboration on Rebirth's system, that would be great.
Well, I guess I understand how you feel, it was pretty bad after all, I liked the idea, but they implemented it in the worst way possible, not to mention all the rest.
Laila a best though.
>I wish they kind of went back to the classic system though
I want them to bring back the "classic sword hero" moveset with Demon Fang, Tiger Blade, and Sword Rain. There are probably enough younger fans who've never used a character like that, that it'd be a good nostalgia trip for old players and something new for new players.
I really liked how they got more martial arts/mixed style MCs instead, but yeah, I too am feeling nostalgic for the classic swordsman set, but no Stahn/Magic Knight bullshit, a real balls to the wall Cless type character, that wouldn't be half bad in an era where everyone can cast spells or has access to cure, I also want more old men like Galad, Galad was the best old man we ever got together with Raven, Eugene and Klaus, we need more rough old men.
>wanting more old men
As long as they get rid of the little kids. That shit needs to fucking stop.
>a real balls to the wall Cless type character
I was thinking more like Reid/Chloe. Cless' moveset was a little on the weird side since he was the very first, so he and Stahn had moves like Swallow Dance which were given to other types of characters later on.
Hybrids are a delicate concept, it's hard to find a good balance, I don't dislike hybrid characters but most of the times they're either OP or useless. Having a definite class is good but a bit boring in the long run for me, the best would be having an open system that allows you to choose your class and get different results and move/ability sets depending on how you play, but that is not part of the Tales mindset anyway and would feel too weird for most players.
>As long as they get rid of the little kids. That shit needs to fucking stop.
This, it was kind of okay with Meredy but now it's too much, way too much.
>I was thinking more like Reid/Chloe.
Chloe was 2stronk, too much pressure, even in ToTW 3 she's too goddamn over the line compared to all the other sword users, won't say anything about Reid because he's my favorite MC so I'm biased as shit.
>even in ToTW 3 she's too goddamn over the line compared to all the other sword users
I know, right! She didn't even need a passive that upped her OL gauge. Sword Rain+Alpha+Omega racked up enough hits on its own. It's just that they downscale the damage past 50 hits so doing pressure infinites means you need waaaaaaaaay more hits than normal for the same amount of damage.
>It's just that they downscale the damage past 50 hits
The problem is, who is still alive after 50 hits?
Maybe Mania Dhaos and and Yggdrasil,
and there's still gunners stunlocking them to oblivion anyway...
>Every single boss unless you're hilariously-overlevelled.
>lvl 240+ Gunner

I feel bad for it, that and Hunter (and don't get me started on Hunter).
We don't actually know if it was going to be a thing in the show, it never uses the move since the one time they form V onscreen, it's missing an arm.
Now, why it doesn't keep Eldora 5 Ultimate? No idea. If I had to guess, it's because... oh, what was that other finisher called, Diamante Crash or something? Well, whatever that move was, it was more suited to the situation.
MEXICAN, you daft punk.
>They've been basically backporting all the Tales games onto Steam, as they realize PS4 is a dead end. Even Berseria is going to be a dual PC release as well.
Thats not even the reason why they are moving to PC. They are porting to PC because the fucking Ps4 is a goddamn PC so it's a win win situation for them
Yup. Fairly strong and the Teleport ability can help when the RNG shoves you in the middle of bad terrain, if you're not giving him a Minovsky Craft.

Mind telling me which one that is? I've been holding off until the end for kanji mecha before I screened and named them.
And Matt, I don't have the name just yet because kanji, but it's whatever Ippatsuman pilots.
Remainder that there's only a few weeks left until a new SRW is announced with a Jackie Chan homage OG MC who's half american half HK, pilots a monkey themed mecha and uses drunk fist when drunk. Female MC sidekick will be his 18 yo daughter who just entered police force and will pilot a police themed mecha. Patlabor will also be in.
>and don't get me started on Hunter
That's probably the class that was hit the most by the nerfs ogether with Warrior, a shame, I'm also seriously mad they gave SHUGOHOJIN to the Paladin and Magic Knight got shafted hard, it even lost fucking Thunder Blade of all things, what's the fucking point of the Magic Knight if you only have starter to mid tier spells? And let's not forget the Fighter sad RM3 iteration.
I mean, I loved the Gunner class even though it's beyond broken, but I mained Magic Knights in both RM and RM2, but basically anything besides Gunner, Ninja and Dual Swordsman is subpar.
r8 my idea for an OG mech
>first form is a support unit, resupply + repair
>attacks are weak but come with debuffs and barrier pierce
>support spirit set
>it gains the ability to turn into an absolute shitwrecker at x will
>stupidly high damage (even getting a plasma diver missile-tier one-shot map) but can't be resupplied in this form
>pilot changes to one with a great offensive spirit set
>after falling below x% en it reverts back to support form
>end game upgrade removes the drawbacks to shitwrecker mode and buffs it
It was, mainly because it had a bit of Luke and Presea's moveset making it pretty fun if not a bit impractical to use, then in RM3 you have a hollow shell that's basically a swordsman expy with no break or combo potential at all and a shitty Hi Ougi.
And you know what makes me even more mad? The fact that they made an april fool joke on RM4 coming for Vita and never actually did anything with it, fucking wasted potential. Imagine a RM4 with revised movesets, Hearts R engine, original animations for the descender instead of reusing Symphonia assets and more than 100 characters, that would be the goat Tales fangame
I saw about the April Fools joke too.
I got pretty mad as well, I love the RM series and I highly prefer it over the main Tales series.
If I could, I'd sell blood just to have a RM4.

My penis can only get so erect.
RM games are more about the fanservice than the gameplay, RM is pretty clunky overall but it's pretty fun in terms of character interaction, some classes like Fighter, Warrior or Hunter have their best iteration here.
RM2 fixed a lot of stuff with RM's system, added new classes, shuffled some moves around and added a lot of characters, some classes, like Bishop are at the top of their games here, awesome music and best Kanonno as well.
RM3 added a new class, the Gunner which is horribly broken, you know about Chloe in Legendia? Imagine it ranged, with less cooldowns and disgustingly high attack and break potential since you dual wield , but plays basically like Dante so it's straight up KUHRAYZEE, classes rebalance is mostly garbage though, absolutely great character interactions and more than 100 characters up to Graces, pretty maps and music as well and tons of stuff to do, also quite a few villain cameo fights. There's like 300+ skits some of which are the best I've seen, Hisui's skits are the fucking best, Arche's food poisoning is great and tons of Koyasu comedic relief with
Jade's glasses possessing those who wear it.
But if you want to get into the series there's better stuff, Rebirth or even the PS2 Destiny R remakes have great classic gameplay, the PSP does have a few neat ports though, namely Destiny 2 and Rebirth, which are actually pretty good ones, you should also check Narikiri Dungeon X, it's pretty decent, though the original characters are a bit of a hit or miss for me.
