What did you learn about the two books? Were you paying attention? Can you tell me what the story is about?

>I need a complete story. Here's the outline:

Once upon a time in a beach community there was a homeless girl named Madelyn. Every morning, with the money collected from her friends the night before, Madelyn buys heroin from her drug dealer and walks about town making deliveries. One day she receives a weak batch. Because of that, Madelyn is confronted with sobriety and spends the first half of the day losing her mind. Because of that, Madelyn is faced with the necessity to learn to overcome her problems without drugs. Until finally she does reach some sort of enlightenment, and as a result comes upon a very good batch of heroin.

I don't understand how you're going from A to B to C here.

Be careful what you write about heroin though. It's physically addictive and destroys lives by being so. People don't do heroin to deal with their problems. They do heroin because they're addicted and because if they don't they will feel so bad and scared that they will want to kill themselves.

If that description doesn't fit with your story, choose a different drug.

Legit response, I'll give you that, but I can see from it that you have partial/external info.

I used to shoot up. It's different for everybody. It's not this one thing for everybody everywhere. In this instance the character Madelyn, shoots up and she does often but she's the kind that CAN go without it, although there will be consequences, yet she WILL learn to cope, even if only for the day. Been there done that.

I think it's an interesting story/ dilemma because it confronts personal fetishes and how, when confronted with a situation and our ideologies fail we are forced into acting creatively .

Btw I've been sober for 3 years now.

>Btw I've been sober for 3 years now.

I am glad to hear that. Weed only from now on, bro. It's not the same, but it will never hurt you. Anyway, I think you have complete story as is. Nothing has to happen after she comes upon the good batch of heroin.

Hello book lovers.

I have a friend who has been suffering from Lyme disease for many years. This has been a chronic condition for her. From the CDC: symptoms include fever, headache, fatigue, and a characteristic skin rash called erythema migrans. If left untreated, infection can spread to joints, the heart, and the nervous system.

She owns a very small publishing company which sells books which I would consider non-fiction thrillers. She is the editor of Creepy Campfire Quarterly.

If you are looking for a book like this, please consider helping my friend out. Thank you. Below is a link to the books which she publishes from various authors.

Fifteen Hours is also a good standalone
Eisenhorn is good, Ravenor was kinda meh I felt

Is there any humanity worse than economics? It's ridiculous. First you read this 1000 page document with ridiculously long empirical evidence making you realize how correct Mr. Smith the father of everything everyone disagrees with ever says, then later on you learn the entirety of what his system is based on, in regards to aggregate supply and demand, is not only wrong, thanks to Keynes, but that the FUCKING METRICS FOR HOW HE DERIVES VALUE IN THE FIRST PLACE FROM THE MATERIALS EMPLOYED MAY HAVE BEEN THE WRONG APPROACH*

At this point, there isn't too much else to say against his theory holding ANY water at all except that every single economist who wrote anything after The Wealth of Nations just takes a shit on him. It's like Adam Smith is everyone's bitchboy. "Oh, you wrote a thousand page treatise that is fucking long as shit and tedious for anyone who has any interest in this subject I'm writing about? FUCK YOU RETARD". And they just pick something to shit on Smith for.

For instance, Ricardo, less than half a century later, just decides to shit all over Smith's theory of price realizing itself in wages, akin to cheesecaking Smith right on his face while he's sleeping. Or shitting in his cereal and not telling him after.

Then, it's Henry George's turn. He takes a shit on supple Adam Smith's face AND Ricardo AND Mill and says that the essential factor at play is the fact that interest increases or decreases with wages. THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT ANYONE SAID.

AND I STILL DON'T KNOW WHAT DETERMINES THE VALUE OF A GOOD AND WHEN INFLATION SETS IN.

DOES ANYONE IN ECONOMICS KNOW ANYTHING AT ALLLLLLLLLL

*thanks to Menger

Can someone with this many fours in his post be right...?

In all honesty though, that's all I do.

My only interests are a vague political science interest, and a tremendous interest in economics and geometry.

on the outskirts of new metropolis city, in a cul de sac in a non descript working class neighborhood that was situated on a hill overlooking the skyline of the metropolis, the newlywed cranstons had decided to host a party. in the midnight hours the couple decided to sneak away for some alone time in their newly bought condiminium.
when all of a sudden a commotion from the streets below interrupted them. they stared in horror as fully armed policeman encroached on their small dwelling, then, in unison, they let out a shriek that could be heard over the loud bass of the speakers below, shocking the happy go lucky party inhabitants. immediately the door cracked apart as two men with assault rifles stormed in, red laser sights piercing the darkness.
shots rang out, several casualties were taken as most of the crowd fled in to the streets. two men were found dead in the middle of the grand room with pistols equipped with silencers. it was later revealed by the police that they were given intel that the men intended to assassinate the newlyweds.

could someone that's actually literate re-write this for me in a way that's pleasing? or just rate my writing/tell me what I could do better? I'll give you internet shekels.

I'm sorry anon but this is hot garbage

too many adjectives
you explain shit that doesn't matter, killing any sense of pacing
you're trying to establish the setting, action, and a twist ending in a single paragraph
you can't stay in the same tense to save your life

I know it's simple and I'm bad at writing but I just want it to sound passable or neat. I'm just trying to describe something that will scenes for a comic. like what they use to draw out for movie scenes. there's a word for it but I can't think of it. pic related is part of the "house"

>I'm just trying to describe something that will scenes for a comic.

If you're writing that sort of thing you need to be even more succinct, specific, and workmanlike.

It's also not particularly related to /lit/. Try /hm/ for the homework board.

I find the noise of the harmonica and the coughing to be grating. Good effort though, it's cute. They remind me of the cassette on 'Over The Garden Wall'. (this thing https://mondotees.com/products/for-sara-cassette-over-the-garden-wall)

I can't sleep, so tonight I'm making a new youtube playlist of poetry readings, and would appreciate a little help.
I enjoy listening to Heaney's reading of Beowulf, and Ian McKellan's reading of ROTAM, but would like to find more gems. Post 'em boys.
