Got a dilemma anons, colt ar15a4 or build an entire new high end upper with an 18in fluted 1:8 mid?

I kind of have the m16 itch right now, but for 1000$ i could supe up my current mid length rifle with the latest and greatest.

Specifically the ar15a4 would be kept stock.

The new upper build would be me piecing together shit like a white oak match barrel fluted, geissele or seekins handguard, DD or JP bcg, geissele CH, geissele 2 stage trigger, and possibly one of those silent buffer kits or just a improved buffer kit.

Current rifle is a standard DD m4 middy.

I pretty much am gonna uses either for fun. Ar15a4 for nostalgia, or upgrade current rifle for fun. I got 1k burning a hole in my pocket for one or the other.

The things that are pushing me away from either are, ive dealt with generic m16 style rifles before and the experience was only meh, ive been nostalgic recently so the m16 bug has bit me hard. And my current set up is good for what it is, cant really make it better without a significant upgrade.
