my parents don't love me edition
"downy dutch" is an official african language, even the title of this thread is written in it
Because you roll your Rs sooooo much
If you like
Ek het nou 'n ou boks gevind, gaan begin werk, praat later weer
My dad was a really bright kid as a child and got a scholarship to this really posh highschool full of the bourgeois children. One day while finding an empty room to study he broke a 2 billion birr vase and now he has to pay off the debt by being in this host club thing.
Put it there my Gojjam brother. How many times have you been here? Do you speak Amharic?
I haven't been back :(
>Do you speak Amharic?
Well, I can hear it fairly well, and I can pronounce it perfectly. But I just get so tongue tied over the grammar, so I just pretend I can't speak it :/
My mother always tells me to get married. What do lads? I plan to get married when I'm like in my 30's or something. Anyone have the same problem?
ogsaa mig min hvide bror :^) Haha I remember the first time using google translate when I was a kid and switched to Afrikaans. Blew my mind that I could read ''African''
I've noticed once you know what a sentence says it is very easy to understand it and spot the similarities. Afrikaans shares many commonalities between northern european languages, but differs a lot from spanish, portugeuse etc. They use very different sentense structure
dutch is by far the easiest language for us to read and understand, listening to somebody speaking it is more difficult, the dutch talk very fast, but after a while you get used to it.
It's illegal now, but back when it was legal my uncles and pops loved that shit. Obviously the khat in the horn is better since it's fresh, while in Denmark you need to transport to Europe
Where in Europe does the Ethiopian/Eritrean community live? I heard there are many in Germany, but where else?
Yea but my father is a law abiding citizen and he only chews it when he is in Somalia. If there are black markets for khat operated by Somalis in the UAE, then those Somalis are either really stupid or ballsy.. or both. Can't you get deported for that shit?
Why did they make it illegal? I thought it was harmless. We call it bushmens tea, it grows wild in my area, i've never tried it, can you just chew the raw leaves, does it relax you similar to tobacco?
I dunno why they made it illegal, but atleast Somalis and yemenis wont waste money on it. It's quite harmless I think, it's like coffee for us. You sit, talk and chew it. We just chew the leaves yea, but I have never tried it so I can't explain how you feel. I was offered khat all the time when I was in Somaliland lol. Even the fucking soldiers chew it while they patroled the streets of Hargeisa...
I just searched online, they say it is illegal to sell the harvested leaves here, but you can buy and own a living plant and make tea with it if you want, very strange. 20 seeds are sold online for $5,35
They are ballsy idiots then. They are in a rich country where their kids can go to school and have a decent life, yet they still chew that plant and risking being sent back to Somalia. I Hope all invovled gets deported.
Never heard of mixing khat with tea. Will ask my father more about it. Do you get as high if you drink it as if you chewed it?
I've never tried khat, but from what I know people dry the leaves and then throw boiling water over it to make tea, I assume some people also chew it. I've only chewed tobacco, but assume khat is a similar effect.
>can you just chew the raw leaves?
Yep, that's all you do. It tastes better if you chew them with peanuts. The best chaat grows in Ethiopia grows in my city, so it's really cheap. In the rainy season you can get a kilo for about 2 dollars lol. 150 grams is enough for me to fly.
The high is really nice, slight euphoria, increased excitement, heightened attention similar to adderal, confidence and friendliness. I become very very social when I chew. If you've got nay job and 0 means to find one, it's a nice way to spend the day bumming around. Good for studying too.
I used to smoke a lot of pot, but since I started chewing I find myself wanting it less and less..lol
got this on my newsfeed, is the guy in the middle an albino?
They are dug up from their grave here for muti (black magic), the blacks have told me that an albino leaves his house when he is about to die so he can die in nature, also they secretly bury dead albinos to stop grave robbers.
>Won't it fuck up your teeth?
I take very good care of my teeth, brush and floss daily, so I haven't seen any negative side effects yet... I do get a mouth sore every now and again. I have seen men with really fucked up teeth, but they don't seem to be very concerned about dental hygiene. It probably stains your teeth, but mine are already stained from all dat habesha coffee.
>Do men and women chew khat in Ethiopia?
It's not as common, but you do see women chewing every now and again. They're very hush hush about it and will only do it in a place where they won't be seen by anyone who might know their family. I had a girl who used to chew with me. She told me that it made her orgasms so much better when she was high off chaat. Unfortunately for guys it makes them limp as fuck, so you need a bit of alcohol to break your high.
Well I'm going to the gym. See you in 2 hours
pls dont let this thread die ;_;
You try searching for "muti murders" on google, you might find some info, the basics is that witch docters here use the organs and bodyparts of people, especially albinos, for magic and medicine. Sometimes they just rob graves, but there have been kidnappings and murders, but not as bad as other parts of africa.
There was a grave robbery in my town last year, they removed the granite slab, dug up the grave and broke the concrete slabs to get the coffin out. The grave wasn't even fresh :( i suspect it might have been family going after jewelry.
>Senior police officers claim that these body parts may be sold for as much as US$75,000 on the black market for a set of arms, legs, ears, and genitals from an individual with albinism
so... anybody know where i can find an albino?
>She told me that it made her orgasms so much better when she was high off chaat
Nice nice! It's really taboo for Somali women. No-one-wanna-marry-you-if-you-get-busted tier haraam.
Now I actually wanna try it myself :) My new dream is to chill with a somali girl and chew khat
Habesha muslim are more chill and less cancerous than the somali muslims. My people are also just weird. One of the richest persons in Somaliland is a Somali woman who transport khat from your country to ours. She decided to build a grand mosque for her workers. These workers all agreed upon to never use the mosque since she built it with haraam money... Yet these fuckers chew khat themselves. Now there is this big empty mosque
They've been scarce lately, also they should give back rightful clay
add in botswana remove niggers and you'll have paradise
Is this the best African region and should it lead Africa to a new and better era?
Malawi is still okay compared to Madagascar imo, although behind the other countries in that region. The Island on the other hand is literally civil war reloaded
probably French heritage
Zambia is pretty nice but their currency is going to shit and they have no electricity ,because their hydroplants don't work in the drought.
I have no idea whats going on there, I know a total of one Malagasy, it's a huge island that doesn't seem to do anything
They tend to constantly have unstable governments and their politics are shite. There are quite a lot of Malgache people around here and they're okay, but get extremely obnoxious and annoying as soon as someone mentions their island. Also it's a jungle disease hell
Solar is kind of shit, because it doesn't give you as much power during peak times as you need. Its good for residences, but bad for industries.
I heard on the radio friday that we are going to be selling them and zimbabwe electricity again.
I know there was a kind of civil war or coup de tat a few years ago, I can't really keep up with all the wars and goverment changes around us, even lesotho had a coup last year.
When we invaded madagascar more people died from disease than from fighting :(
Wind and solar has the peak time and maximum output problem, the concentrated solar farms are looking good, but maximum output is kind of pathetic compared to coal and nuclear power. Maybe for a smaller country like zambia it could work pretty good, but for south africa we need high output any time of day. I've read they wanted to build a aluminium smelter in richardbay that would use 4% of our total output.
>When we invaded madagascar more people died from disease than from fighting :(
that's literally what the country is in a nutshell. It's honestly sad that Southern Africa isn't as bad as most of the continent, but still instable af. If your politicians stopped being selfish faggots it could be so wonderful
Say m8, is Nando's any good? I know that they tried gaining terrain in Portugal, but closed probably because it's a cheap version of Portuguese food. My parents always do chicken like this and I love the taste
Nandos is the best fast food in south africa for me, I don't like take away food, because i dont like strangers touching my food but nandos is pretty good, sadly my local nandos closed down
They make the best tv ads
Yeah, that one was pretty fantastic. I remember Portuguese news channels actually reporting on it because muh heritage.
>tfw you have one of those roosters at home
I don't know what to feel
Yo Ethiopia bro, not seen you here before.
How's life? Like what's it like in comparison to say USA or the UK? Just curious.
I know Ethiopia is relatively safe, but is the stereotype of "poor as fuck" really that true?
What would I expect if I visited Ethiopia as a white middle class bloke?
The problem I found with life in the states is the lack of sense of community. I know jist about everyone in my neighborhood and I'm always invited by someone around here for food or coffee.
As tourist I guess you won't see extreme extreme poverty since the gov doesn't allow anyone to access such places. Some street nigs jere and there, but's not as bad as India if I had to compare it to somewhere.
One thing that might bother you is that people will assume you have lots of money cause of your white skin. If you're not a dumbass or don't mind telling people to fuck off, you'll be OK.
Botswana just posted in pol, could be a proxy, would be nice if he joined us
Reminds me of the Estonian flag, such a satisfying flag to look at
Yea exactly, but Estonia's is way better imo. Maybe Botswana should change flag with Lithuania? Atleast Lithuania would look more European and Botswana would look more African
thats pretty cool
lithuania has the shitiest flag in europe, none of those colours look right, red yellow and green is fine, but the shades of the colours are shit. I just discovered lesotho changes their flag to the one in my pic, i though they still had the flag with the little man in it
When lesotho posts here it still shows this flag, i thought they were still using it, this is the first time i've seen the new flag
They and Swaziland are the only remnants of the former homelands for natives, although they are older than the other homelands. Homelands where independent countries within South Africa where black natives could live and self govern, they where all incorporated into south Africa in 1994, Namibia used to be part of south Africa as well, they were given independence in 1990 i believe.
Lesotho and Swaziland might just as well be part of South Africa, because they are almost entirely dependent on us, I believe both countries are still monarchies ruled by kings n shit
For white people Afrikaans would probably be the most spoken first language, the largest English white population would be parts of the Eastern Cape and Natal. Blacks in the Cape will be Xhosa, with Sotho and Tswana in Johanneburg area and Zulus in Natal. Certain areas of Cape Town and Johannesburg will have more English speaking people than others, most people in the country speak english as a second language.
If ads were like this I'd actually watch tv
Don't remind me of my failures anon
They have some pretty good ads, some of them would probably not be funny to foreigners.
Some of these ads were banned, and they had some shit for making fun of politicians
Do you think donald trump will become the republican candidate?
There's glare on my computor screen and my curtain doesn't close properly
I finally understand why you call nz poo peeland, the way I say it doesn't make it sound the same so it never made sense too me, I thought it was because something happens there like poo in loo for india
>Thread archived. You cannot reply anymore.
can you post some ethiopian qts?
yeah and this was lesotho highlight
are you the guy who gave me the rare flags yesterday in the map flag thread?
recently i went to /pol/ to collect some, and i found them calling dominican republic and andorra rares lel
may i expand more on this. many argentines try to put on an american accent when speaking english and that often turns out terribly wrong. this also shows in their writing and is a common trait among those argentines on this board who shun the hilo and suck up to foreigners.

yes, what im finding pretty hard is to colour the small islands like jersey, in the template there are 3 small dots and i have to chose which is which
Is that how you rationalize your actions, muhammad?
"I cannot be criticized for raping german women! Te western devils would surely do the same thing if it benefitted them! The only reason they never do is because it doesn't benefit them!"
Personal responsibility must seem like such an alien concept.
