My computer is having problems, I'm not sure what is causing pic related, but I have a good guess.
When this happens, the screen first turns to black, then the monitor seems to disconnect from the HDMI (maybe an automatic troubleshooting thing?), and when it reconnects, pic related is what shows up for a couple secs, then it goes black again and it repeats this cycle until I force shut off my computer.
I believe it's my video card, because the sound still works while this is happening. I also think it may have something to do with the OS (windows 10), as this has only happened since I installed it in 2015.
I'm not sure what triggers this to happen, the only consistent thing I can do to make this happen is when I play Dungeons of Dredmor.
In this case it happened when I tried to close OSBuddy, an Oldschool Runescape client.

Bro that looks A E S T H E T I C as fuck. Keep it that way imo.
umm, sweetie: this is a linux board. You need to install gentoo or go to another web forum.
sorry not sorry.
This is not your personal tech support. Kill yourself.
If websites know what operating system I am using, then do they know what distro vistors are using? I want website owners to know I'm using Arch, just to give them a fair warning that a wild-card is browsing their site.
Depends,
How is your CRUD handshake configured?

only see what kernel youre running not the specific distro

Believe me, if the site has a comment section and you post, they'll know.
What's the best GNU/Linux distro that has a sane installer? I'm talking easy like Debian.

Bunsen labs. or you could just use Debian... or Ubuntu

Hey
In order to live out my cyberpunk fantasies, I want to into computer security.
What's the best Linux distro to get into this with? Thank you.

if you think you need a specific linux distro to get into computer security then you're off to a bad start.
read a book.
>browsing Best Buy memorial day ad
>see macbook air with "2.7 GHZ processor"
>click tech specs
>"dual core i5 processor"
>what fucking processor is it
>check on apple website
>"6th gen core i5 processor"
>fuck it, drive to best buy
>find macbook air
>"2.7 GHZ dual core i5 processor"
>"the processor is like the brain of the computer"
>ask sales person what processor

>comes back 10 min later and says
>stop asking questions, just go to bed anon.
I figured out why macbooks are still selling. They target teenagers and old people who don't care to know what processor they're buying. And Bestbuy is enabling them.
>caring about a 20% increase between cpus in the last 5 years for a portable machine that will do light work.
just kill yourself, the spearging out about muh specs is just muh fps gaming rig bullshit.
Apple doesn't list the CPU models in macbooks because they just sell you whatever is cheapest at the time of manufacturing.
Best Buy is retarded. They are only good for last minute buys on tech because they price match Amazon and Newegg. Otherwise I suggest you steer clear of them.
Mac's are a status symbol, you could put dogshit inside of it and people would still buy them.
What's your back-up method? Personally I've just been using a 2TB external hard drive, and also making a back-up of smaller files (pictures and documents) on Dropbox. I'm looking into RAID, but I'm not sure if it's worth it since I don't have an enormous media collection.
>several external harddrives
>mega account for stuff I share
>trying to set up a home server, just missing some large hard drives
don't think you need RAID for your modest anime collection and meme repository desu lad
Enjoy your ban.
What are some good incremental/differential backup software?
What do you think about Window Managers?

I don't use them but I can see why you would.
I like awesomewm and use that but it starts to shit the bed when it comes to multimonitor support.
This is a general DNS security thread for anyone willing to discuss, help newbies or learn more about DNS security in general.
Who among you are using DNSSEC[1][2] already? Why do you use it? What do you use it for? Have you considered TLSA (DANE[3]), SSHFP[4], OPENPGPKEY[5] resource records (RRs) yet?
Perhaps you don't like DNSSEC and instead use DNSCrypt[6] or DNSCurve[7] for encryption of your queries?
Share your thoughts!
Newbies section:
Here are some very basic, newbie friendly, introductory DNSSEC videos:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTABuMxO2AM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qlto6GfZEvA
DNSSEC uses asymmetric cryptography[8] to securely sign all resource record sets (RRsets) on all authoritative name servers that support DNSSEC. Your local DNSSEC enabled resolver then validates the authenticity of your DNS queries to make sure your query has not been tampered with. This thwarts attacks trying to, for example, redirect you to malicious and compromised servers instead.
If you're thinking about registering your own domain, check if your registrar offers DNSSEC. Some registrars automatically sign your zone, which means you most likely can already add your TLSA RRs and such. Other registrars offer to upload your Delegation Signer (DS) RR, or your public zone signing key (ZSK) / public key signing key (KSK) instead. That's also nice if you wish to just host your own authoritative name server.

Hey, guys.
I have high-end PC for almost year now
and yesterday I had a play Fallout 4 for.. 5 or - 6 hours and then something happens and my PC turn red and everything stuck
I restart my PC and everything work normally. I went again to the game and I had few FPS drop and boom.. white screen and everything stuck and can't do anything
I change my savegame and still have this problem.
I check my temper of hardware and everything is seen just fine
51C or blew..(you can see the photo)
I try a different game like Rainbow Six S: and I had drop FPS on the menu and after few min, the PC crash
my friend told me to delete the driver with DDU and I did.
I reinstall the driver and try to play R6S and the game opens on 4K lol. I change it to 1080p and after few min, the PC again crash
browser the web, music, everything else works just fine.
another friend told me the maybe one of my hardware moved and I should open the case and check if everything is alright.
What do you guys think? what should I do?
>>60643020
Your PSU is overloaded or dying.
>>60643030
I Have 650W.. not enough?
First you'll want to test your Ram to see if anything is wrong there.
If that passes, you'll want to test whatever drive (s) you have.
If everything is fine there, you'll want to do some CPU only testing, put it under full stress load and see if it freezes.
If that passes, you'll want to try a different GPU.
If you experience the same issue, perhaps then it is best to test the PSU. You can get cheap PSU meters from the internet or you can test with another PSU.
Anons, where do you rent your dedicated server boxes from?
How much could and storage do you get for that price?

Pick up cheap ass 1RU servers from ebay/craigslist. Run em in your attic/garage/closet.
~$40/mo - OVH's SoYouStart range.
3.2GHz Xeon E3-1225
16GB RAM
2x1TB SATA
They literally don't care what you do, e.g. torrents etc.
They have a cheaper 'kimsufi' range with poverty spec hardware but it's ~$15/mo.

Which laptop specifically at that price point, my african american friend?
I heard that it was one of the best gaming laptop available on a budget. Wasn't available in my country so I went with a HP omen 15.
Considertypedef struct { int i; } foo;
Standard says that forfoo f = { 23 };
foo * fp = &f;
the following is allowed:int * ip = fp;
since pointer to struct always allows pointing to first member of the struct.
Does this mean that foo and int have compatible effective types?
My example is with ints, but you probably know what I want to do: hold struct in an aligned char array of sizeof(foo) size, without UB.
>>60642631
By making a struct with only one field you're defeating the whole purpose of structs, but yes, as long as you make the int pointer point to an int it will work as an integer.
I'm still pretty new to C so I might be wrong.
>>60642760
foo can have other members, it's just the first that's important for this.
