Twine isn't much more than an editor and layout program. The thing behind FC is called SugarCube. It's pretty slow by design and never intended for anything like this. Bascially what Twine does is encode all your story "segments" into JSON and dump them into a template defined by the "story format". I tried to make one for fun a few months back, but it turns out Twine Core is incredebly hacky and not at all intended to be touched by third party devs.

Making a custom engine for FC shouldn't be too hard though, maybe start by optimizing sugarcube, that wouldn't even require changing code. (maybe the FC code is just incredibly shitty, dunno).

If you feel like you want to copy all content to a new engine by hand, let me know, I can probably help you out with some engine development.

I'm chugging away at my own Java game right now, but I don't have much to show for it. My goal is for it to be a text based demon lord management game with a super heavy TF customization framework to allow for inclusion of pretty much any fetish.

Right now I'm working on how to best keep track of all the 'parts' on a person so that you can do cool shit like replace a person's limbs with cocks or something, and still make it easy to generate descriptions from it. Some anons in earlier threads recommended stuff like rules based systems, but I'm having trouble wrapping my head around it.

Eventually you'd be able to set up a lair with a harem of energy collection slaves that you can customize. I haven't thought much past that though.

I want to get it to a decent point then I'll probably open it up on github for other anons to work on with me if they so desired.

Sorry for the digression. I highly doubt that you'll be able to get a bunch of anons to work together to make a port. The only reason FC got as far as it did is because FC dev has ungodly motivation.

Well, it's not something I've considered before, so excuse the rough-planning, but...

We start off in a fantasy world, probably demons, I'm thinking something like Corruption of Champions. Player character is an aspiring champion, naturally, heading out to fight the bad things and end the corruption.

You can either have this as intro, or with actual gameplay, but at some point PC is captured by some sort of demon lord, and locked up in Demon Lord Mansion. Here begins the slave content.

As an unwilling slave, what goals can we envision? Probably escape, killing the demon lord, returning to previous life, stealing demonic power possibly? Seems like a good enough list.

Obstacles: well, PC is a slave, so household chores except Demonic Mansion-ised. You get a random list each day that must be completed (eg. feed pit slime (obst. course? Combat?), take care of DL's fucktoys (fetchquest? crafting? Ambush by slut?), walk hellhound (random encounters?)), and each of these would have some sort of inherent hazard (corrupted by pit-slime, enticed/raped by fucktoys, ... raped by hellhound? Other encounters? Not sure) as well as the DL itself punishing you (more severely, higher risk of bad-end) if you fail to get them done in time.

Once you've got the list finished for that day, you're free to do whatever you want for the rest of it: train aid in your escape attempt, stockpile items to make finishing list tomorrow easier (risky because you have to guess at tasks), "heal up" in the sense that you try remove penalties/fetishes/whatevers that have been applied to you during the day, hunt for gear, not sure what else.

Obvious issues I can see with actual game-creation: it's pretty ambitious in terms of the number of things you'd need for randomised tasklist, you'd need a large number of locations in this mansion, you'd need a variety of random events to have crop up during such, you'd need a good stat-set inc. health, corruption, subservience, various mutations, etc (though this doesn't seem too hard, it's the biggest issue facing "purple prose" highly-descriptivist games like CoC, FoE and whatnot), and of course I don't know what sort of game to make it. A Metroidvania style would suit for the exploring Mansion, but then you have to choose how to do combats and other events, which can be a bit clunky if you want to swap from skill-avoid (Metroidvania) into other styles of game (turn-based strategy, or even just adding unavoidable things for events can look really messed up visually, or simply be very jarring for the player to experience if they're suddenly locked-down for an event).

Gameplay flow would probably center around your simple attempts to escape, though there's plenty of room for complexity to be added (maybe if you're more subservient to DL and corrupt enough, you can channel some measure of its power, corrupts further but makes some encounters a cinch? Other ideas possible).

There, rough game draft centered around being a slave with choices and consequence beyond "disobey, obey, fail to disobey".

It's a game I've put some thought into making myself.

It would work as a fast-burn choose-your-adventure, a few questions to flesh out your early life, some prompts on what you do during your inescapable enslavement, and then a bunch of randomly chosen events after that until you get to an endgame state (basically either mindlessly subservient or robbed of all physical mobility).

Ideal playtime per game would be less than an hour, with as many different "career" paths as possible. In most events, your options would boil down to "how do you react to this event you have no control over" or "do you do as ordered with pleasure or do you refuse and get beaten into submission". Breadth more than depth, essentially.

I had a setting idea that I was going to use for a game a lot like Free Cities. Since that game exists, I've decided to go for my fallback plan of a game where you're a slave (obs).

You grow up in a post anarchic radical dictatorship where everyone has a chance of being automatically enslaved upon graduation from mandatory schooling, or release from your orphanage, or especially upon being captured from the wildlands.

A desirable physique or good grades or history of delinquency can effect where you wind up, but for the most part it's random.

First its off to the academy or a private trainer, either of whom will beat your body and mind into shape for your new purpose in life.

Most slaves end up as submissive arm candy, and then you'll get involved in crazy family politics or insecure owners.

Good genes earns a position as breeding stock but if you're obedient enough you might get to be a lab assistant at the same time (and expected to serve your coworkers).

Physical fitness will probably see you sent off to a frontier barracks as entertainment for a company of soldiers.

Bad enough behavior and you might be a training practice dummy, or worse a genetic research subject. Especially good behavior and you might get bought by an academy as a training helper and welcoming model for the next generation of slaves.

(If it isn't obvious, I've mostly thought of this from a Female-PC perspective, but I could add in an unlimited number of scenarios once I get the engine down.)

Here is how I specifically did it (both under Win7 and Win10), there are others but if you decide to deviate from this I don't want you people angry over it "not working".

Step 0: Set your PC's non-unicode(!!! specifically this) language to Japanese. It doesn't affect the language of Windows itself just helps it deal with programs coded in moonrunes and actually not messing up extracting stuff properly in Moonrunes.
This is the very first step and required for the install (there is another way but I haven't done it, so for now follow this). I believe the game might work without the Japanese non-unicode after you have set it all up (run it at least once before switching back) but this is necessary for Japanese porn games in general so if you don't need to change the language leave it in Japanese

Optional Step A but highly recommended: Download Winrar. Yes 7zip exists but in my experience it sucks at dealing with moonrunes and will fuck them up.

Step 1: Download the Japanese RTP versions of RPGMaker (you technically only need the 2000 version for Ryona but other games will use other versions): http://tkool.jp/support/download/index ; Extract them (they are a self-extracting exe file) and then install them (from the extracted file)

Step 2:

As people have explained here there is actually quite a bit of potential playing from the slave's perspective to do a game.

I'd like to just post a few things that RyonaRPG does right in that regard for potential devs who want to have a few ideas on how to go about it:
1.) You can start out as a regular adventurer and be captured or you can start with the heroine already being a slave with little explained about her origins
2.) RyonaRPG uses "public slavery" as in, the slaves belong to the realm/state rather than being privately owned. In-game that is because slavery normally happens when you incur in defaulting on your debts (normally to the casino or the coliseum) but you are still given a theoretical chance of paying back your debts though the game screws you in several ways to make it hard for you to get out of it including ways to get stuck permanently as one. This includes interest on the debt as the days go by and stores only selling you crappy or embarassing gear for adventuring.
3.) A game over is not a game over (regardless or slave or not). You can rescue your previous heroine where she was defeated or you can wait for slavers to "save her" and buy her back at the slave auction (in-universe because "she couldn't pay the rescue fee back" though you can guess that is a convenient excuse by them). If you do wait for that she'll be actually freed when you buy her but regardless the slavers will have given her a some "training" making her more sensitive to erotic attacks and sometimes even giving her cursed equipment that makes her willing to please people (first subconsciously using piercings enhancing masochism and later giving her the dog collar mentioned above that turns her into a pseudo-slave even though she has no debts because it doubles as a sort of mind control device making her a subservient "bitch in heat"). Similarly, this concept can be used for applying penalties in a game playing as a slave

I had an issue editing and playing FC, but solved it! I had to "Change Story Format" and select SugarCube. I saw Sugarcube was used in the original source, which helped. Still, kinda fucked that this information isn't imported by Twine!

I also get a script error that "config.history" is undefined, but it doesn't seem to be causing any issues after brief testing.

Here's what I was going to post, in case others have the same problem:
Running into trouble trying to edit and run Free Cities. I import the HTML file fine, and see the passages fine, can go into each one and make edits.

But I can't run it. "Play" and "Test" just launch a blank white Twine window which does nothing.

I checked on the new HTML file which the local editor stores in My Documents and tried to run it - nothing. So I compared that file to the original FC file. It turns out that the process of importing and then running generates a file which is missing a substantial block of code at the top and bottom. Basically everything up to <tw-storydata is missing, so basically the script parser seems to be missing. What the hell? Technically the game data is there, but of course it doesn't run by itself.

Using the web interface isn't working either. "Play" just opens a blank page, the source of which doesn't seem to have any code from the Free Cities project.

So what's with the "She can't help but get better at having things down her throat." that keeps appearing seemingly at random?

It'd be neat to have some more gambling in FC. It seems like there's an unmentioned subculture around freeing slaves that "win" (Stuff like the shotgun match and the slave that makes it to the goal if you don't hit her) against the powers that be. Could be fun to play with, especially since it wouldn't actually be legally binding in the game world, giving opportunities to dash hopes and dreams or garner a reputation as fair and generous by honoring even your non-binding agreements.
And because I always play as nice-guy master, it would also be kinda neat if you could set up slaves as semi-free tenants. Give them an apartment and a small amount of starting cash and let them do what they want as long as they can keep up rent. They're still slaves, so if they default they end up back in the penthouse. This would probably require that slave betterment ideal (Paternalism?) to be any kind of feasible though. Taking someone at the very bottom of society and turning them into a productive and almost independent (But still obedient and in their rightful place in the grand scheme of things) member of it has to be good for that ideal.

Having tested it out earlier, I found nothing BUT moonrunes after heading to the slave city, and in the life sciences institute capture thing. Chiitrans helped a little, but the translation quality is terrible; more than half of everything came out as completely impenetrable nonsense.

Minimum slave price at generation is 2k, but several combinations of things can drive the price down.

Anorexic + Fat: Both of these save you money in creation, then basically cancel each other out over time once you start.

Hates Anal + Huge Buttplug: The quirk lowers the price, then forcing buttplugs into slaves not only raises devotion if they're below Obedient (and not too stretched), but pushes the Buttslut fetish, which will cancel out Hates Anal.

Basically a servant (including subordinate servants!) cuts costs by about the price of luxurious accommodations for one slave, if they're obedient. With the upgraded slave quarters, appropriate mindset, and proper devotion, they can save about twice that much.

A frightened slave in normal conditions will at least earn her own keep. Though none of this factors in drug costs, just room/board.

I think my biggest 'want' right now is to figure out how to efficiently drive slaves up to Worshipful. Getting to Devoted isn't that difficult, and usually happens just from basic gameplay over time.

When you set your job to "bitch" (or just have the collar + dog ears) the game unlocks a hidden "bitch" mode which is similar to slave mode but also unlocks the sex scene with the dog at the first town (+ I think the pig at the inn and a few other extra scenes a regular slave doesn't get to see).
Slaves in-game still are more like indentured servants than 100% slaves given they still have the freedom to persue the life of an adventurer and try to pay back their debts (in the case you got enslaved at the coliseum for defaulting on your wager)

Yeah, I didn't say everything was translated either. Life Science Institute and the slave city have existed for a long time but suffer from "perpetual patching syndrome". The devs LOVE that little town and keep adding tweaks in it so only a few key NPCs are translated there (amongst other reasons because most of that town is filled with bad ends and traps that can lead to bad ends).

Rayon, the coliseum and the imperial capital (+ a few parts) are where the translation has advanced the most.

If you are interested in the life science institute you still need to rely on the wiki, sadly.

I also made it so that the rival arcology owner is always educated, and has a much higher likelihood of being intelligent than not.

I made the lab girl always highly intelligent and uneducated, but that's probably unbalancing.

I changed the qipao from a short one to a long one, to suit my fetish for long dresses, high side slits, and no panties.

Also, while modding the qipao, I noticed the code for showing the slave's asshole while wearing a qipao is nested in an if that checks for a toga, so it will never show up.

I never even heard of Twine until Free Cities, and it looks pretty... opaque, but I'll probably give it a test.

I've made a basic engine in C# that can do the job as long as people are willing to trust an .exe from the internet. It's a barest of bones console program, but it's not like the game was going to be anything but text.
