Also, fun behind-the-scenes tidbit: There is no "height chart" for the characters in SU. Characters freely change heights depending on the scene, as long as they're still in the right "order." So Lapis is always going to be taller than Amethyst but shorter than Pearl - but that can be anywhere from "a head taller than Amethyst" to "twice as tall as Amethyst."

Yes.

There was no second war. The war for Earth between the Crystal Gems and Homeworld occured 5,500 years ago (databook), after the rebellion grew from the actions of Rose and Pearl (The Answer), and lasted 1,000 years (Back to the Barn).
"Several hundred years" sometime during the war the Cluster experiments took place (When it Rains). These took place largely under the Prime Kindergarten (Keeping it Together) where Amethyst came from (On the Run). Amethyst emerged from the Kindergarten 500 years after everyone else (Too Far) and came out when there was no Gems present there for a LONG time (On the Run). She joined the Crystal Gems at a later point (Steven's Lion).

That's most of the timeline we know of.

I noticed this and it's really fucking weird. In the earlier episodes Sadie is depicted as an adolescent woman in her 20's, but when she reappears in the 2nd season she's literally as short as Steven whose 14 and looks like she's been shrunken into a kid. It's remarkably inconsistent.

The intent seems to be to vary the characters based on the needs of the scene. Like, Lapis in her first scene in Mirror Gem is almost Steven's height. This is to emphasize how close him and her are, as Steven is Lapis's first friend in millennia.
