I like Ocean Gem mainly because it had the whole team fighting. Liked seeing Connie and Greg out there, and ultimately seeing Connie work together with Lion to save Steven was something that hasn't been shown to happen with anybody else.

I like the whole episode anon, and it was the resolution (kind of) to Pearl's character arc regarding Rose and Steven. Pearl having a full mental breakdown and basically allowing for Steven to possibly die was a pretty crazy thing to watch.

Jailbreak felt like it was playing largely by the book, and was more about confirming things or doing things that were already expected by that point. Everyone expected a song by Estelle at some point, Garnet fusion was only waiting for confirmation, and everything happening in the episode was basically just a logical resolution to the previous one. It's still great, it's just that nothing really caught me off guard.

Ocean Gem's good, but I personally prefer Mirror Gem. The buildup and mysterious atmosphere in that episode just tops anything from Ocean Gem for me.

I think that's a great idea, but I hope they don't do the reveal via dialog/ahead of time. Like yeah, Jasper facing Steven and Connie and they say something heroic then fuse, sure, that'd be okay. But I'd rather have Jasper nuke them in call back to Steven using his Shield to save the gems from the ship attack, huge dust cloud, suddenly glowing light fills the cloud, and as the dust clears from the air...boom. There they are. No dialog on their part, Jasper runs her mouth as usual. It's all been said and shown before, it doesn't need to be spelled out. Jasper has been given plenty of chances to learn/understand. There's nothing more to be said.

Okay, YD and Peridot refer to Earth as possessing natural resources. They're clearly talking about organic life. While Peri and the Crystal Gems feel that's important and useful, YD doesn't particularly care. It's not surprising, it's just a thing. Right?

Now, long before the Pearl reveals we long debated whether 'Pearl' really counts as a gem. It's at best an organic byproduct. And sure enough, Pearl's turned out to be some sort of slave race.

What if. Steven isn't the first successful gem/organic hybrid? Most of gem society probably doesn't even remember or think about the origin of Pearls. Some time in the past the homeworld Gems met an organic race, successfully conquered them, and integrated them into their society in the method/form of life they understand best.
