>it's not actually real
thank you god I was so worried
I know you guys hate the commentary team but they put over AJ Styles pretty highly.
>FORMER IWGP CHAMPION JUST LIKE BROCK LESNAR!
>THE PHENOMENAL ONE IS HERE!
>AN OFFENSIVE INNOVATOR!
-Byron saying something decent for once
>tfw there will be no happy underdog story for Becky, she's now going to fade to superstar/main event and then disappear from television entirely
>it didn't come down to Haitch, Bray, Dean and Roman
>Bray looks strong like a newly-crowned Top Heel and eliminates Haitch
>Roman eliminates Bray
>Dean sneakily eliminates Roman
>becomes genuinely psychopathic Top Heel WWEWHC/IC Dual Champ
>Roman has a rematch for the WWEWHC at WM
>Dean also holds a feud for the IC Title
>Three-way feud with AJ/KO
>defends in a triple threat to Main Event Fast Lane (Main Events over the WWEWHC because that's saved for Mania)
>looks strong as a Top Heel should but Roman interferes and he drops to Styles
>Styles vs KO set for Mania for the IC to tear the house down
>Dean vs Roman for the WWEWHC
>we will never see Heel Dean and Face Roman perform a double turn in the Main Event of Wrestlemania, ending with Roman shaking Vince's hand and fully turning Heel with SHADES OF AUSTIN to the most nuclear heat ever
Does WWE hate pleasing their fans?
Bloated Jericho spent more time in the ring than anyone else in the rumble last night, will he go back to Fozzy or stick around until Wrestlemania?
All the champions save for Roman and Burrito retained last night, there won't be a change until Wrestlemania
Deanetty will drop the IC belt to AJ Styles
The New Day will drop the tag belts to someone else who aren't the Usos
Kalisto will drop the belt to another face, assuming the US title is in the card
Charlotte will drop the belt to Becky
HHH drops the belt to Roman
>Mondays at work after Survivor Series have been shit
>Left work about 3 hours ago, its the best monday I had at work
>Haitch won the belt the day before
Is this a sign guys
I totally missed that.
I remeber him triangle dropkicking someone, just didnt register who it was.
>early on in the ambrose vs. Owens match
>owens gets tossed over the announcers table
>aims for maggle
>keeps pulling maggle down
>pulls magles chair down
>grabs maggles face
>later in the match maggle complains that his glasses broke
>HHH drops the belt to Roman
I want to believe it's not true and HHH drops it to someone that the people actually want like Ambrose or even Styles, but it probably won't happen.
That's good, if HHH can have another world title run at his age then surely Y2J can do the same.
God I hope he doesn't end up jobbing, he's better than that.
If he does return, what will they have him do?
Trade shots with Haitch?
He's not going to wrestle at Fast lane so it seems too soon.
Unless they do Roman vs Haitch at Fast Lane and then Rock Vs Haitch at Mania.
I can't think of anyone for Rock to get involved with other than Haitch because muh samoa.
I haven't kept up with WWE since WM 29 aside from a quick glance at last year's WM main event and like, the last half of the rumble last night. Feel like getting back into the groove, at least until WM this year.
I'm not gonna ask what's been going on since I left, I can just google that shit, but I wanna know if I'll be safe just watching Raw and the PPVs.
>WE HEARD THE RUMORS MAGGLE
>THIS GUY WAS BIG ON THE INDIES
>WELCOME TO THE BIG LEAGUES AJ, DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU DID BEFORE
>WHAT DO YOU THINK BYRON?
>God I hope he doesn't end up jobbing, he's better than that.
I thought he actively wanted to help build new stars.
I mean shit what other wrestler from the 90's is gonna come back just to eat shit to fucking Fandango like he did a few years ago?
HHH will rub it in that he beat Roman
Vince and Steph congratulate him
Rocky comes out and puts his cousin over
LON comes out and tries to gang up on Rocky
Roman makes the save
HHH, Steph and Vince retreats and Roman gets put in a match where he has to fend for himself
>Owens shouting "WELCOME TO THE WWE" before he eliminated AJ last night
How hard do you wanna bet that that put him over HARD with Vince?
I bet that's the first time he's got hard unassisted by medicine in years, I wouldn't be surprised if they gave him a celebratory live sex segment tonight.
Was it really ok for the commentary team to say that? I know IWGP doesn't exactly have a company's name on it but it just feels weird for the team to reference another promotion nowadays.
I think they'll hype him up like styles since he's getting a lot of cash and they bought his name/theme
probably something like
>ONE OF THE HOTTEST FREE AGENTS IN WWE HISTORY
>A FORMER IWGP CHAMPION
>WE HEARD THE RUMORS
>ONE OF THE MOST FEARED STRIKERS IN ALL OF SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT
>SHINSUKE NAKAMURA HAS ARRIVED
WWE hasn't had any real issues mentioning other promotions for the past couple of years.
They've shadowbanned TNA from existence though and it's great, I'm sure Dixie watches WWE everytime a guy jumps ship hoping for some recognition.
Out of interest do any of you dummies actually go to indie matches?
Not trying to be a smarky, holier that thou cunt, but it seems like very few people here actually talk about watching local live events.
>days before, whine about AJ not honoring muh verbal agreement
>after his debut, post this
this wrestlemania is even worse now
>WWE @WWE 2h2 hours ago
As first reported by @ENews, Nikki @BellaTwins will undergo neck surgery this Wednesday.
no A+ player, no BMJ, no nikki, no orton
fuck it might sell my ticket to some smark for double at this point.
You're supposed to laugh at Eugene, Roman is a joke.
No. I don't see the point of going to a live event with low-quality wrestling when I can catch all the high-quality events online with a better view and not surrounded by grease in human form.
Everyone says this before and after Rock returns.
But during it all everyone marks out because he's still the Rock even if it is for one night only before he scurries back off to Hollywood to sacrifice lambs with merchants.
>just realised the authority have been around for 3 years now
when will they fuck off bros?
>no Randy anymore
>Deanetty a Face
>Roman is feuding with them
>Kane a demon again
>Haitch has literally donned the tights to keep the lifeblood circulating the carcass of his horrific aberration of booking
So... Last night I went out and got completely shitfaced with a friend, totally forgetting the Rumble was on...
Did I miss out or was getting just justified?
I heard AJ came in at 3rd but that was really the only surprise until Haitch came in and cucked Roman.
>That sucks. Where are you from?
The only wrestling we got as far as im aware off was Smackdown World tour during Sheamus face Reign.
I still has my ticket, a shame that Orton, Kane and Taker werent there.
The card was:
Booker T vs Cody Rhodes for the IC championship.
Jinder Mahal vs Great Khali.
Some tag match between Hunico and Ted Dibiase Jr.
Sheamus vs Mark Henry Street fight for the WHC.
And Main Event was Big Show vs The GOAT (Bryan).
Highlight was Show beggining a chant by calling Bryan a "pollo" or chicken in english.
Thats why i mark for Big Show.
I don't know what to think of this stable.
They're full of great talent and talent that's kinda progressing (Eric Rowan has been improving a lot, Braun Stroman has a lot of room to improve). It's just their direction and reasoning for feuds are so random
>RAW opens with Trips in the ring cutting a promo
>Roman comes out 2 mins in fuming, demands an immediate rematch
>Haitch says that he will not be defending the title tonight but a match can be arranged
>all of LoN comes out and surrounds the ring
>they're about to enter
>IF YA SMEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLELELLELLLLLLLLLELLELELEAH
>there's no way they can make bray credible
>so they'll remedy it by having Brock appear at a filler B-PPV and give themselves even LESS time to make Bray look credible
Yes you have surely cracked the code.
>watch this week's ROH main event
>Young Bucks vs reDragon vs The Kingdom
>Matt Bennett and Maria from the Kingdom already debuted on TNA a few weeks ago
>AJ Styles comes out to help the Young Bucks
>Young Bucks already kicked AJ out of the Bullet Club in Japan weeks ago
>just watching this show today
>AJ already debuted in the WWE last night
This shit seems so surreal, like someone is fucking around with the universal timeline and creating continuity errors and time paradoxes.
WWE just posted the "fixed" AJ Styles entrance without the awful camera/production work.
>that soulful electric organ chord that opens up the theme
Hype song. I liked his NJPW song ("FUCK YOUR DREAMS FUCK YOUR WIFE") and hated his "GET READY TO FLY" (corny) theme from TNA. This WWE theme is really good though and fits his southern/christian background since it's got a southern gospel sound to it, without being gimmicky.
>Authority walks slowly to the ring
>Stills of Haitch's victory
>20-minute promo, blah blah, you played the game Roman, blah blah
>"There is nobody in that locker room who can take this championship away from me."
>Crowd gets ready to pop for Roman or Rock
>"Weeeeeeelllll, it's the Big Show..."
>"It's a big bad show tonight..."
>HHH vs. Show program starts
>HHH vs. Show at Fastlane
>Because Vince thinks everybody wants to see Show in a main event angle
They're called wrestling schools usually. I live in London and have been to Progress quite a few times. The Wrestling is good, crowd are a bunch of insufferable smarks. Even worse than NxT
>supporting your local scene is fun as fuck and you might get to see some great talent before they get swallowed by the wwe.
The last time a local talent signed for WWE was 1989. And as the local promotion doesn't update their website, they must think it's still the 80s.
>crowd are a bunch of insufferable smarks
I thought that was just British crowds. I'm an American and occasionally watch EPL, and they're always coming up with some goofy chant:
But yeah, I've seen Progress shows. They can't got 30 seconds without starting some fucking annoying chant.
Honestly I think that any theme can be good as long as it starts strong.
I mean what's the most memorable thing about Stone Cold's theme? The glass breaking. And personally speaking the static at the start of Cult of Personality always got me more hyped for CM Punk than anything else.
>JBL mentions he's a former IWGP Champion
>compares him to Brock fucking Lesnar
Can we all agree how based JBL is? In just two sentences he just hyped the fuck out of this guy that casual WWE fans might not know anything about. Say what you want about his commentary today, but JBL is as based today as he was when he was a world champion kicking out illegal immigrants and punching Godzilla in the face.
Is this guy the only guy left from TNA that WWE would consider signing?
He's the only one on the RAW team who knows what he's doing. It's Vince that gets him to repeat the same goofy lines over and over again until we can't ever not instantly think of them the moment we see a wrestler appear, the difference between JBL and Cole is that JBL adds his own stuff sometimes and actually has some insight.
>Honestly I think that any theme can be good as long as it starts strong.
Most of the memorable ones you think off the top of your heads probably had strong and distinctive intros
Just to name a few, Kurt, Rock, Edge, Test, Haitch, Mankind, SCSA, APA
He has a point to be fair.
Chanting stuff is all well and good but when you're sitting next to someone who won't shut the fuck up for 5 seconds and thinks they're being really witty with the crap they're shouting, it gets old very soon.
The only ones WWE would be remotely interested are for signing/resigning are probably
The Hardyz or just Jeff
I don't think they'd know what to do without a corrupt authority overarching storyline.
The problem is that it's so played out by now that it's stale as fuck, but what else can they do? They don't know how to innovate anymore.
Do you really think they'd consider bringing back Drew McIntyre or Derrick Bateman? It seems like it would be an admission that they fucked up (to some degree) if they ditched them only to bring them back at high salaries after they demonstrated that they had the chops elsewhere.
He's still building up the new guy as a big deal, which is his job as a commentator (assuming the WWE does want to make AJ Styles seem like a big deal). It's like comparing The Miz to The Rock and Stone Cold because they held the same world title. It makes The Miz look good and it's a legitimate way to get someone over.
>How can you not? It fits him perfectly.
True, he is a cock sucking faggot like you.
Main roster themes are shit these days, what they really need is themes with lyrics, even if its nonsensical shit like rybacks, it's better than just a generic guitar riff alone.
It's all about how they develop their image outside of WWE. AJ styles was on wwe for a very brief stint and probably would've been a shitty midcard.
He built his stock up, and now WWE is paying a guy whose got a couple years left in him prime money
They didn't even get it right the first time, nor did they do it right the second.
Why would a storyline with a history of being booked wrong by a promotion be your top pick for what they should be doing? Especially when their booking quality has only gone downhill since?
The Wolves and Kong are the only ones I'd be personally interested in. EC3 is good, but I don't see him getting anywhere in roster stacked with more talented wrestlers. Same with Roode. Don't give a fuck about the Hardys or the Dudley because Edge can no longer actively compete and the TLC reunion dream feud is dead without Edge.
>that feel when AJ Styles' debut the other night from the crowds' perspective still makes you tear up
I know they're gonna drop the ball with him somehow but damnit that crowd
Didn't Tonga resign with New Japan? Personally, I'd rather have Yellow Barbie. hnnnnnngg
>you will never wrestle in NJPW and drown in Japanese pussy
>Styles out in the ring cutting a promo about what the Rumble was like for him
>It eventually gets to the point where he's just taking it in as the crowd chants "THANK YOU STYLES" *clap clap clapclapclap*
>Gets in the ring with him and just stares him down
How hard do you mark
Ideally you don't want to pair two new signings/call ups together right away unless it's with a smarky crowd like the NXT one who knows their history. AJ's first feud should be with someone the Little Jimmies already know.
Commentary can say whatever they like but it's a dumb idea. Imagine all the Little Jimmies and casual fans flicking through, they see two wrestlers they have no idea who they are in the ring and switch off, deciding WWE isn't for them any more.
>all those smarks who want HHH to win at Wrestlemania and have him drop it to Rollins
Because WWE has no fucking plans for Samoa Joe. The only reason they signed him is to keep him from ROH and TNA; which is ridiculous because these promotions aren't in any league to compete with WWE.
It is kind of mysterious, I guess NXT was suddenly short of main event talent due to the call ups but it still makes 0 sense. I guess when Joe FIRST started in NXT he seemed a little out of shape and has gotten better, but there is nothing he is going to learn down there, he is already a natural at everything due to being a vet.
>Captain America: Civil War film coming out soon
>Marvel doing Civil War II story for their comics
>WWE has their own Civil War
>Vince McMahon and The Old Guard, the wrestlers that he believe are best for business
>Triple H and The New Blood, his vision for the future of the WWE
>both sides have both heels and faces in a loose alliance, neither side is completely unified against the other, both sides have reasons for the fans to cheer for them
>The Old Guard is lead by Cena, WWE's poster boy for years, 2nd and 3rd generation superstars like Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Bo Dallas, Vince's mammoth's like Big Show and Lesnar and home grown talent like Dolph Ziggler
>The New Blood is lead by Seth Rollins and is made up of former indie darlings like AJ Styles, Finn Balor, Cesaro as well as NXT trained guys like Baron Corbin and Tyler Breeze
>the whole storyline is a deep look and thinly veiled fourth wall breaking social commentary at the history of pro wrestling as a culture and as an industry, how family ties can help you succeed in the business as opposed to being a first generation wrestler who struggles for years in the indie to make a name for yourself in the indies, how your size and physical appearance, or lack of, whether you succeed or fail in the business, and whether being a homegrown talent really those breed loyalty into a wrestler
>or they can just do a storyline where Roman Reigns punches everyone in the face for a year
>AJ is more over in 3 minutes than Roman is in 3 years
The companies are literally indistinguishable in terms of quality
Actually no I take that back
WWE doesn't take every opportunity to shove anti-white propaganda down my throat
