Where were you when best girl died
Think about something else, with the forced awakening and controll there was no need for an execution.
This means that the execution was only done to lure in Helck to cause him suffering.
She is not dead. She became an hero
Now that Alicia is no longer "Meme of things to come" we must move on to the new one
Here's the the Kingdom common folk A's thought process at the time:
> The Helck's gang killed Hero Cless whom we berated the other day for being fucking useless!
> The gang was caught but for Helck whose bounty on his head is absurd
> He was wounded and must not have run too faraway
> Let's look for him and totally not wander off too far from the kingdom at all!
> The Helck's gang killed Hero Cless whom we berated the other day for being fucking useless!
> Today they're going to execute them, better go throw just one stone
Either way it was understandable to keep everything running normally until the very last moment, there'd be no needless suspicion and actually keeping things running normally is just simply easier.
Nope was for Helck, remember the spell had a huge aoe it covered apparently the entire kingdom, there was no need to gather the people and no way for him to bring Alicia to safety in time.
For anyone still wondering why Rafaed didn't transform into a monster, read this page. He was a "great warrior" in the past. There's also another page of Rafaed himself wondering if Cless is stronger than himself. The guy was already awakened.
There's a fucking hole in her face
Helck was able to notice this. How come he wasn't able to notice Alicia?
The spell's AoE probably increases over time. After all, at the beginning, only a few soldiers were awakened way prior to the mass snow. At this point, they probably managed to cover a large area at the centre of town with the snow spell, but not much further.
>make speculation in the last thread
>go to bed
>some retard says that I shouldn't bother to speculate because anything can be anything if you think it might be
Why do people make shitposts like that? Who are these anti-fun cunts who hate speculation?
She probably still has a messed up eye post transformation. That's why she wears the mask.
Do you not know the origin of it or something? They're changing "DONT" into "DO IT" obviously it's going to be close to the "i" because if it was farther it would reveal it's an "n"
I feel like vomiting.
It's from an episode of the Simpsons. Homer quits his job but is eventually forced to go back after his last kid is born and he needs the money. His boss puts a sign on his office wall that says "Don't forget, you're here forever" to humiliate him for leaving. Homer covers it up with pictures of his daughter until it says "Do it for her".
Only loli Vamirio can heal me at this point.
Okay, maybe Piuy too.
Just got caught up with this manga
Poor man's Golden Age Arc
Still, Helck is a good human being and Piuy made me laugh in any panel he appeared.
Are you sure about their fate yet?
>natural theoretical death
Judging by the little sister's age, he was a young minotaur. If you talked about all that damage regeneration tolls then the angels are pretty fucked
I love it when Anne from management slips into demon lord mode
Are you even trying, literally everyone else?
For real though cleaning and typesetting isn't hard but oh god it's boring. I spent like 9 months doing a long chapter of one manga because I'd get bored very very fast.
I guess it helps that Helck is on a digital magazine so the raws aren't the usual toiletpaper charred scanned horrible craps.
No matter what, rello's work is still already legendary.
I just love how she's done a complete 180 from trying to tear him down to hyping him up.
This was because their actual ritual was still not complete and they experimented on individuals, remember the first ones did not even have wings.
What I wonder about is if one of the soldiers hits his limit like Toosu king will they still be reborn or will their actual soul crumble and become unable to revive.
Probably just trying to hide the identity so we don't explicitly see her before her debut. But it's so incredibly obvious it's her if the reader just pays attention, and it's not like the series is super-long.
I think that the awakened humans (at least the ones with reason) will join the demon empire, seeing as this country unites some pretty different races like beastmen, elves and immortals.
It will also make sense when Makarios and Rafaed reveal why did they experiment on humanity so much, probably to fight some powerful ancient evil or something.
We didn't see anyone else's transformations in terms of the main group so we have no idea if they were hideously deformed like Alicia was from the awakening. Considering even the bulging skin veins are completely gone and there seems to be no traces of scarring, it's entirely plausible for things to go either way between whether she's got the deformed eye or is back to relative normal in terms of appearance.
Although I imagine she probably looks exhausted or broken like Edil.
So is the King confirmed demon? I mean there must be a reason why he wears that mask and
he doesn't look like a big guy+ surviving that shit takes some guts. Is this his clever plan to get rid of both humans and Empire and become the absolute lord of everything?
The purpose of her execution was to draw civilians and nobles out into the snow so that they'd awaken as a large group, giving the actual conspirators in charge the numbers needed to no longer require a conspiracy to enact their plans.
Pretty sure he's going to end up being that noble that took in Helck and his brother. Hit closer to home for effect and the idea that he raised Helck and his brother to become the ultimate Awakened soldiers, which is the only reason he picked them up in the first place.
Kings and Heroes have separate awakening-based powers, so I wouldn't be surprised if the mask conceals something that isn't quite what we'd consider human anymore. Considering what happened to that one monster king where his power overwhelmed him, it may not be a pretty sight.
Unless the King gets kill.
Then again there is a extremely high probability of them going berserk sans the ones with the highest level of compatibility.
Dude, he's clearly a Lovecraftian horror that is part of the New World Organisms or did some scary scheming with them. Or he's something even more scarier...
>if they ever do
Yeah, that's the problem. Problem is humans for centuries in the manga were taught that the demons are evil douches (which is hypocritical if you remember the amount of hate humans themselves generated).
I would tie them up together and then violently
pat their headsusing my huge manly handsafter which I would cover them both with my warm blanketand forced them to drink more of my delicious cocoa
Nah it was as revenge on Helck.
The spell covered the kingdom and even Helck with his sppeed would as they said not be able to escape with Alicia before she was done in.
This means the area of the spell was huge, thus theree was no need to draw in the citizens.
It was entirely bait for Helck.
You can see this also by the sole fact that not all of them were to be executed at the same time.
They even said they didn't expect helck to show. They even said helck wasn't going to be affected. Helck could easily just kill everyone before the awakening, or just kill the nobles and run. There's no way their plan was to bait helck when there's not even a single trap for him.
Do you also not realize how big cities are or something? Even if it covered just a 100m radius, have you considered that the transformation "curse" could apply instantly, so that running would be useless?
The eye thing was part of the tranformation. Awakened by artificial means basically remakes your body. She was heavily wounded in that eye so it makes sense to just remake it.
>he is at best 25
He was 22 when Cless became a commander, after some time he was drafted and then spend 4 years together with Alicia and her crew. He's at least 26, probably 27.
The ones at the event were not really high up, did you really expect them to know this shit.
Hey they even send Zell and company after him so that everything would work oout in time.
They knew he woould come.
Are you really that blind, she was already shown fighting the demons.
>mfw this manga
This is not what I signed up for.
>well at least longer than the Bowie and Rickman
Goddammit anon, I'm still buttblasted that they are no more.
Imagine this kid's life. He probably has an entire serialization's worth of story dedicated to himself somewhere, where he's being all shonen and learning about friendship, effort, and victory.
Everyone turns into a synthol angel and loses their minds upon transformation.
After awhile if you're compatible you turn back into a human with wings. The ones who remain mutated and swol are just the plebs who don't have what it takes to be a true hero (ie side characters without unique character designs).
Pretty much this
And also I'm pretty sure we can safely assume that Alicia is alive and we've seen her already as >>136170660 pointed out
It's actually pretty neat yo come back to first chapters now that you know Helck's backstory to see how all of it comes together nicely. Good fellin
>After awhile if you're compatible you turn back into a human with wings.
Edil is still pretty boy because of his high compatibility. Alicia is ugly and busted now after transformation which is why she covered up her whole body like a mudslime.
It bothers me how much people are trying to push for "ALICIA IS MISSING AN EYE AND COMPLETELY DISFIGURED FOR FULL DESPAIR", all the signs seem to point to the fact that she was probably one of the really high compatibility awakened from the get-go.
How can one person be THIS deluded unironically?
Jesus Christ why do you give so much shit about one pointless detail. Maybe her eye popped back after the full transformation. Maybe she'll appear as punished Alicia after taking off that helmet. Does it really matter all that much? The point is she's alive and an hero. That's all that could really have any important impact on the story
Fairly certain people are just shooting the shit to pass time until Rello starts a new dump, we already saw how all of those people who went through massive grotesque transformations eventually settled back down into normal angel size.
If it's anything like other threads such as Overlord, it might just be some faggot shit posting. Though Helck is relatively new so I'm unsure, but there's been quite a few crossboarders from /v/ so you never know.
How come Helck wasn't as shocked as he could've been from facing Zell on the battlefield?
He was a ally trying to save humanity
All we get is a 'you...'
I honestly think she just covers her face in shame of the atrocities she's been doing under the king's command.
She must have been sent to battle at the second demon castle, confirmed that Helck was right about the demons and yet she was forced to kill them.
When the time comes to face Helck, she'll probably cry in shame when he removes her helmet with a dramatic blow, or something like that.
just looked at Zell some chapters before and you are right
They look kinda alike, but Zell has slick hair and his eyes aren't that sharp
Still wonder who this is though. Maybe one of the allies Zell had, like Haraolle
Lets just call him Professional Killer-san
In all seriousness though, he was probably just a one-off mook used to show Helck awakening compatibility and rebirth ahead of time.
I don't know, am I?
Regardless, it seems like they're just not showing up on the contents page for some reason.
Alicia's a saint, if she were disfigured it would embody despair.
Waifu. Bro had a pretty good life. Bro got hurt badly from the demon king fight, but he did something he believed was meaningful. Even if he was forced to suicide in the end and even if what he did wasn't right. Waifu, on the other hand, waifu had a hard life.
Has there ever been a bester boy than Azudora-sama?
Speculations are fun when it involves a creator who actually plans and foreshadows things instead of badly winging everything. My money's on console roleplaying tropes since that's where Japan gets most of its fantasy from. Everything is yusha this and maoh that.
>the first thing you ask from the guy you just met is to feel up their muscles
God damn Edil why are you such a tease?
It's like Guts and Griffith totally hetero, naked, fun bath time all over again. Not that I blame the guy
Who wouldn't go a little gay for Helck?
There was more development with Alicia during the flashback than with Cless.
>be country with ancient history and rich heritage of heroes and villains
>get modern fantasy from videogames instead
Well technically after demons attacked and fucked all his shit up he wasn't a lord of a god damn thing anymore. Plus there's the fact he comes to capital with a bunch of mercs as companions
This is one of the reasons I think the author is probably familiar with the tropes of ancient heroes
Edil is a twink who has a bromantic relationship with Helck, just like Enkidu (once they taught him how to be human) was also a twink who had a bromantic relationship with Gilgamesh
And the trope of heroes having bromances is one that shows up frequently in other hero stories influenced by the Epic of Gilgamesh, like Achilles and his friend Patroclus (Patroclus, like Enkidu, also dies).
Edil isn't dead but I guess the role of "dead pretty male friend" would be taken by Cless.
>He thinks Gilgamesh is a creation of FSN
Th-this is bait, right?
>From ALL SMILES to these in 50 chapters
His face is going to be a twisted tomato for the final chapter.
>author may have read ancient hero stories and incorporated tropes and elements from those stories into his manga
>"hurr stop telling me these things"
Is the fact that you're learning hurting you?
Woah there buddy, I think you're going a little too deep into all of this and I don't mean it in a lewd way. Borderline homoeroticism coexisting with companionship between two males is not a trope reserved only for greek mythology. It's actually quite common thing
I think the author just wanted to emphasize the way that Edil went through form a meek noble boy to a skilled warrior who's actually capable of getting shit done
But hey I'm not saying you're wrong, different opinons are cool and all
It doesn't, but when you have no land all you have left is just a title. You're still above common rabble, but when it comes to business you don't really have anything to put on the table
>defeated by Enkidu
Enkidu was supposed to defeat him to teach him humility, but failed.
They became best buddies since they were the only ones around with comparable strength.
Yeah I guess
I'm just looking for gayness in everything cause of fucking /u/. Don't make the same mistake as me and don't go browsing gay boards kids- it will get to you faster than you would want
And then Helck punched the dragon to death, averting the crisis.
Dragon Quest is just easier to draw than their own culture's boss battles.
You seem to be under the impression that I am being sarcastic. I assure you that I'm not. I just want to hear more of your opinion. How else can I ask you, personally, for guidance if you don't have a trip?
I know that feel.
But awakend does not make them revive the slave contract with the king does.
He actually got skilled in combat when he lived for years with a troop of mercenaries.
>Dragon Quest is just easier to draw than their own culture's boss battles.
Or turning the boss battles into cute girls.
Oh, is that how it is? My mistake then. Still, it just means it's not always better. Usually better, but not always.
On a side note, I just compared Helck chapter 52a from both Kiss and Batoto and Kiss is 9.26mb while Batoto is 9.27. Actually I remember Batoto chapters being a bit bigger than if I would grab them off the scanlator's blog or something for other series.
Thoughts on that?
sadly nowhere because i can't for the life of me find where to download 36-44, is there a website that keeps track of translation groups and their websites? i use to use mangaupdates but they got rid of that a while ago due to legal threats.
Dem Suika nipples. But like how all the fan effort in Touhou can't turn the franchise into a single solid story, a lot of their myths and monsters do work better in bite-sized, episodic pieces. In that form they're everywhere, even in their western style jRPGs.
its hard to describe how helpful this is, however for the helck group Rello all the link points to is an online reader site...
is there a way to get this manga without an online reader?
only usual site i know of is madokami and as of recently they haven't been great at getting thing up to date.
damnit, so the only way for the downloads is to go through the archive than?
able to tell me the site he uploads the chapters to to make looking through archives easier?
>Helck's waifu told him to always smile
>That why he's always smiling no matter what
So heroawakening is not actually limited to humans from what we got imlied and shown.
So humans who are on average really weak can as heroes reach the point where they are a threat to high level demons.
So what if an actual high lvl demon like Vermi-chan had a true hero awakening as the champion of demons.
that said, how do you upload or edit the data on that site, there is a number of series i get from there were chapters are either labeled wrong or missing data that i could add if i knew how.
I think from whats shown Humans are the only ones capable of naturally awakening and unnatural awakenings have the side effect of turning you into a mindless monster baring the few with the mental fortitude to keep at least a part of themselves.
The term hero is a subjective thing.
Also i recall the noble guy saying its a power hidden inside all living beings.
So i'd expect a demon hero to be some try at twist.
Like Helck will be getting fucked up at one point and then Anne from mangement will awaken.
i find it dumb that they grow wings when awakened, you don't see helck or his brother with wings
the author tried too hard to make it sorta like angels vs demons, i still like it since helck is best boy
>Like Helck will be getting fucked up at one point
Anon I think that at his power level the only real threat to Helck is him himself. Like all these moments when he goes berserk and loses the sight of everything around
Damn no rello tonight, I really wanted to see the next chapters translated seems like a lot of info gets dropped. But I'm not complaining somethings can't be helped and even god needed a day of rest. Off to bed for me.
Makes no sense as the demons themselfs have to permanently defend from the posining the monsters and the new world shit generated from it and this shit is also what at least is related to awakening.
Awankend ones seem to be for example immune to the poison.
Think of it like the difference between the strength training Saitama did and that Biceps King formula the giant guy used to turn himself into a giant. Both are means to an end, strength, but one is natural and slow-paced and the other is instant and has awful side effects.
Now, this is all speculation on my part, so take it with a grain of salt, but I think that anyone in this setting can be artificially awakened, and I think the things we've seen (toosu-men, minotaurs) on Anne and Helck's journey back to the Empire were tests for the ritual the King performed on humans. Only humans can awaken naturally. If I'm right, it would be impossible for, say, Azudora or Piuy to naturally awaken, however they could be subjected to an artificial awakening and turn into even greater monsters. I also think that only humanity's ability to awaken naturally allows for those cases where high-compatibility people don't lose their sense of self. It reduces the strain or makes it easier somehow. Dark Warrior seems like exactly the sort of person who would be a very compatible hero, but he was insane and blindly attacking everything until he was brought back to his senses.
Also, if it isn't obvious, I believe that the New World Organisms are simply awakened monsters.
What ancient Sumerians consider attractive and what we consider attractive might be very different.
Or you could be thinking of Type-Moon Fateverse's Enkidu, who is a trap Lancer.
So, was the microphone the tournament announcer girl was using to interview Helck just an oversight by the author?
Because there seems to be no other evidence of technology past the hyborean age in this world.
Well but the warrior only lost himself when he thought he had failed to protect his sister, only then he succumbed to it.
Now look at what happpens with manipulated Cless and Helck if he enrages and loses himself in it.
Anon. You're a retard. We saw her eye. There was a huge swelling right OVER it. Think Quasimodo from Disney's Hunchback movie.
Then we get to this page
and the swelling disappeared. Now her eye looks exactly like the others.
This shouldn't be so hard to understand when the chapter came up so recently. Why don't idiots like you ever bother to actually check your facts first.
Guns require the discovery of black powder and then the overwhelming advantage in battle to become developed enough for rifles.
I doubt a gun is that big an advantage in a world where you can throw fireballs
We still don't know what a lot of things are.
Artificial awakening is different than true hero awakening
The new world
The source of the poison
New world organisms
Humans using magic that they shouldn't be able to
It easily leaves for the possibility of angelic being behind this entire mess.
She is not level 2
Acting refured to thespian skill
Anne was the group protector if shit went down hill, how in the hell would a level 2 do that.
You're a fucking retard, but don't worry there seem to be a lot of you
That's not always true, especially in cases where magic is properly studied to the point that it rivals technological growth. Technology is always more convenient since anyone can use it, but who gives a fuck when you can cast crazy shit like teleports, resurrect, or large scale explosions.
>demon empire on the verge of defeat
>Helck and Anne/Vamirio returned in a nick of time
>Behine them was a entire army of different races much larger than the awaken human army
>Helck and Anne/Vamirio made so many friends and allies on their trip back to the demon empire that they managed to unite the whole against the human empire
>Alicia is a blonde
I'm honestly surprised. I always imagined her with brown hair.
> high compatibility
What if this "high compatibility" business was just people spending too much time around true heroes and had been gradually adapted to the eldritch power before the awakening fest?
That explains Edil and Zell and Haraolle and probably Alicia too, but there's also at least professional killer-san.
Helck is slowly building it's popularity, guys. We only need to wait for an anime adaptation and things will go to disgusting humanity from there. Will we readers here still love this manga till that time comes?
>Will we readers here still love this manga till that time comes?
Judging by what happened when SnK and One Punch man got popular with the mainstream weebs after their anime... No.
The plot kinda reminds me of Shin Angyo Onshi minus demons.
So what the difference between a fake awakened hero and a transformed demon?because at the very least the villains are capable of making both, like with the demons at the capital and surely with Tooru, also Zell said that every demon that he met in the past was savage and crazy-like.
The thing is of there is a way to stop it, because if Tooru was transformed being a demon king and having a level around 60, the others could be victims of this as well. There should be one way to avoid it, because the demons at the capital were able to tell that Rafaed power was similar to that of the north enemies and they are fighting against whatever they are all the time.
>So what the difference between a fake awakened hero and a transformed demon?because at the very least the villains are capable of making both, like with the demons at the capital and surely with Tooru, also Zell said that every demon that he met in the past was savage and crazy-like.
Appearance, stability and controlability.
They're basically the unstable prototype vs the final production model.
There's two related but separate abilities at work here. One is the artificial Awakening that usually creates mindless rampaging monsters and occasionally creates imitation Heroes. The other is the human king's Authority that compels obedience. The difference is that the first can be used on anyone, but the second only seems to work on other humans.
The faceless angels would normally be rampaging monsters, but the king's commands have turned them into something resembling an army. The transformed demons have nothing to control their actions, so they mindlessly attack until slain. That might be the only real difference at work here.
>retard still thinks it's only the name hercules that I'm talking about
>he thinks I'm trying to impress anonymous people on an imageboard
>the idea that a japanese author is incorporating classical heroic tropes into a manga about a hero somehow causes him butthurt
Are you 15 or do you just have the mentality of a 15 year old?
>your face he's gonna have children with Azudora
>I don't know anything about any ancient heroes or the tropes in their stories which still influence most modern fiction, but I'm going to be retarded anyway and pretend none of those tropes exist because I don't understand them anyway
So you're 15, thanks for sharing
The tribesmen who conquered the orc people had a similar set-up, although it's not a 1:1 thing. The king of the tribesmen had mutated himself and was commanding the other tribesmen. When he went down, instead of rampaging, the tribesmen just politely went on their own way. Keep in mind that they were apparently very weak before their transformation and that the king, who was the strongest out of the tribe, was the only one who exhibited any desire to conquer and become stronger.
Back to TVtropes and stay back please
Toosu king also still had some semblance of consciousness even when he went fully mutated.
It'd be crazy if the Toosu tribe were actually the key to overcome all this ancient wickedness.
>use the word tropes
>"he must be from tv tropes and not speaking from academic knowledge"
You are actually THIS retarded
In any case there is nothing left to say except your butthurt that Helck's author is probably familiar with numerous ancient heroic myths and draws from those myths to create their own heroic myth is simply baffling, as though the fact that most authors tend to be well read is something surprising to you and that you honestly believed that all authors just pull stories out of their asses completely without outside influence.
I bet you think Eva draws its tropes from the bibles too.
Pic related, here's a trope.
He totally can and certainly did if you looked for it hard enough, doesn't mean it's very interesting, worthy of discussion or can be served as a ground for major plot speculation. In other words it's worthless.
