I think it's mostly because Mo Guan Shan and He Tian are the only ones making any kind of progress at this point romance wise.

Mo Guan Shan represses his sexuality the most so it's fun to see his responses to He Tian's teasing as a 'straight' guy. I actually like their characters more than Jian Yi and Zhan Zheng Xi, it feels like Old Xian is forcing plot (the kidnapping) and more to the point where I'm getting tired of waiting for 7 page updates.
