It's a sad truth. I really wish people would just be happy that there are a few kind anons sharing out of kindness and not bitch about the damn method/process in which the content is shared. For that matter people should also learn a little patience... I mean it wouldn't kill anyone to wait a month or two after a work is released by the artist in order for the patreon anons to share. Also humility goes a long way. But I guess that's asking way to much since we are on the internet after all. In retrospect I can't blame the "share anons" for running or ditching out of frustration or becoming feed up with the vicious cycles of these request threads.

A Creator here, what's actually preventing you, dear anon, to become a patron for Creator?

If the reason is free stuff, is it reasonable if I give 1 (uncensored) picture for free in a set for non-patrons, after the date of the pledge expires?
(assuming that my art is worth for supporting of course)

How to prevent "kind Patranons" to share the rest of the pledge?
(I know, I won't use drastic measure as how that Thai gook Hydaria did)

Well it's kinda sad you creators had to come to this. Those stuff are meant to be paid, now you have to give it a go for non-paying members. I don't know if I'd consider this a desperate move.. though still it's kinda sad. I think the wise thing to do is to ignore us on 4chan. This is the internet and there's pirating everywhere. You can't prevent people from pirating your works unless you're a Hydaria.

Whoever you are, I hope you'll get more supporter this way and they'll quit sharing your stuff... (though I really doubt so)

in my honest opinion, i don't think anything you can do will stop people from sharing your art if people want it enough. your idea of one free picture per set sounds really generous, and it might even work if your fans are respectful enough, but the more fans you have the better chance one of them will cave to the pressure and share. i know zamius in particular releases all his pictures for free after a certain amount of time, although in lower quality, and it hasn't prevented him from being one of the most shared artists on here.
i think the problem is with the medium, for this sort of situation. patreon is just a really shit way to do this, in my opinion. it seems to make artists sacrifice quality for quantity, and from what i've seen it tends to lock artists in to the style they started with. when people are paying for what they've seen from you previously, it's hard to experiment with new styles, and that probably doesn't do anything healthy for the artist's skill. i think you'd be better off using some other website to sell your art set by set, maybe with 'season passes' or something that would give fans access to all the art you create in a year(?) for those who want anything you'll draw. that way, people can pay reasonable prices for the art that they want, instead of betting some minimum payment that the art created this month is worth the time to see it.

Some artist require far too much money for the art they create.
There's absolutely no quality control, when you make a comission, you know how good the art will be because you're part of the process of creating the content.
Far too many artists jumping on this shit, if I were to give 5 bucks to ever artist who used to do comissions and now does half the amount of art per month on patreon I'd be using well over 500 bucks on it.

Consider it from the artist's perspective for two minutes. The artist could spend 4 hours making a commission for 50 bucks and they wouldn't even be making minimum wage. But they could spend 4 hours making an artwork for Patreon that an unlimited number of people pay a smaller amount to see. In the former case the commissioner insists on being part of the process and requires the end product looks worth 50 bucks. In the latter case the artist makes whatever they feel like making and the patrons only expect an experience worth a couple bucks because that's all they're paying. If you understand that perspective it's no wonder an artist would choose patreon over dealing with individual commissions.

Also consider you are not entitled to everything just because you call yourself a fan of an artist.

Now some rewards come after 25~50 bucks tiers, for characters they never choose, without any guarantee on the quality or even the theme.

Even worse, some artists chose the monthly donation so you've never any control on the amount of work you're getting.

No rules were broken as long as they didnt reward pledges with photographic or video porn.

The IP is a grey area too since it can be contested if they are careful to include some original stuff, something artists are happy to take advantage of.

Personally I don't like the paywall system but it is what it is. Money >> ethics for artists. Some worse than others. But we have sharing or we can just move on to other artists.
