Y-gallery is gone. When and If it comes back, they'll have lost all their data.
Which mean the years I've spend documenting sources on places like R34 was in vein. All those urls are broken now.

Think of all the dead artists who's only recorded work was on that site. Lost to oblivion.
>>
>>
ah, man are you serious? This site was pretty much my childhood.
>>
>>2297812
I feel like a big part of my "childhood" has been lost.
>>

Damn, now you've dug an even deeper hole in my depression. Honestly, this sucks, A LOT. :(

>All the OC art that doesn't exist anywhere else.

Even if artists migrated to tumblr, there's no real infrastructure to find them except by outside sources like a link on r34.
*and people wonder why fan-artists get all the attention.

The only tumblr users I follow are people who came from y-gallery originally.

Second Y-gallery update July 11

As of now, we will be experiencing a long downtime. We’ve spoken to the techs who have been trying their best to fix what the hacker broke and the bad news is that the hacker managed to break their way in to the server and corrupt/delete large portions of the database. Y-gallery is nothing more than an empty page and the database has been lost. This means all information and data that everyone has uploaded over the years has been lost.

We are extrememly sorry and devestated that this has happened, but the good news is that we will not let this hacker win. We will be pushing forward with our plans to release version 2.0 to you as soon as possible. It will be a fresh start for us all, and even though our information and data has been lost, we know that we have a great community in y!Gallery! We can and will rebuild better and stronger.

Thanks to all our developers and techs for trying their hardest to recover the information. This hacker was a thorough one. We will be implementing many new security features and practices server side to prevent this happening in the future.

PLEASE NOTE: no confidential information was leaked that we know of. This appears to just be an attack on y-gallery as a whole and not on its users.

We apologize most deeply for the inconvenience and thank you all for your continued patience as we try our hardest to rebuild from this. As always, we will continue to keep you updated with any news and progress on yG2.

When you piss people off by banning them for arbitrary reasons and limiting what people are allowed to post and nit picking their work eventually someone out there is going to come after you. No other Yaoi site has been taken down or attacked as often. Maybe they will have learned their lesson and wont be such cunts anymore.
>>
>>2297834
True story. They destroyed their own site and many artists abandoned it for a reason.
>>
>>2297834
Totally agree. I really hope they do learn their lesson, I'm not even mad they're down. That's what they fucking get for having the shittiest way of dealing with things and treating their users like shit
>>
>>
>>2297834
I've only ever seen people bitch because a site dedicated to Yaoi won't let them post straight, trans, or animal shit.

Or they're such shitty artists their pecs look like boobs. They trace. They're photo manipulators. Or they're >>2278869

In one case, Gninrom, he left because the site's standards weren't high enough. He wanted it to be like Hentai factory where they rejected submissions that aren't HQ.
But the elite were all crappy artists at one point.
>>
Damn this is a great loss to the gay art archives...wonder how much can be salvaged?
>>
>>2297855
"Or they're >>2278869"
What does that mean?
>>
>>2297859
Art had to be 100% made by you. No edits.
Unless it was a collaboration between artists. Or you cited a reference photograph.
Mostly people got in trouble for backgrounds they picked off the internet or an anime screenshot.
>>
As an artist who have put much effort and uploads my mini flash game on that site, it feels really sucks.
>>
>>2297834
>implying there are other yaoi art communities
>implying the attack was real and not a made up story to escape the v2.0 development hell.
>>
>>2297834
Ygal has always been shitty, but it's been getting shittier and shittier in the last year or two. Most good artists have already left and/or gotten banned. Ironically, most of said artists have migrated to Patreon or furaffinity (lol). They've always had a problem with terrible staff members and drama, but the last few years have really been lolworthy.

Also, how could they not keep backups of this shit? That's like database maintenance 101! Unless they did and stored it on the same server the hacker compromised, in which case...they just fucked themselves.
>>
If nothing else, this gives the staff a chance to build Y!2.0 from the ground up. And I'm sure lots of people saved lots of things over time so I doubt everything disappeared into the void. I just wish there was better networking so everyone could find their favorite artists outside of y!, even though some, like MJEsperandieu, posted there exclusively. Has anyone thought of starting a directory for finding artists? Tumblrs or blogs or such?
>>
>>2297883
Most of the artists I followed on ygal have a Picarto so at least you can still see them draw and talk to them there. Downside is that some barely stream and probably don't know that their followers get an email notification when they go online because most relied on announcing streams in journals. So at least you can see their other websites on their Picarto page. Other than that, that's all I know.
>>
>>2297848
Admittedly, y!gallery was far from perfect and there was always drama but considering over a million submissions from countless artists just got trashed for some likely incredibly small-minded reason (spite, prejudice, etc) and the tremendous loss that is, it seems a little bad to piss on the staff as though they were asking for this to happen, especially since this is probably hurting the users and the community a lot more than the staff. Also, almost every complaint I've ever heard about y!gallery has involved the idea that "most of the good artists have left the site" or "most of the good artists were chased away" and on some level, yeah, I've seen a bunch of great artists leave. Though that idea is also a little absurd considering the tremendous number of amazing artists who were posting on y! and how often the rather nebulous and vague, never really defined "most of the best artists" was invoked.

I don't know. Maybe I'm just being naive in disagreeing (especially here) and maybe complaining is a way of coping. Or maybe people are just glad the site is dead regardless of whether it affects them or not. For what it was though, it had a lot of great people making a lot of great work and a lot of people are hurting to see it gone. Especially in such a stupid way.
>>
>>2297888
Staff drama has been the omnipresent issue that's been dragging down the site for years. Sure, they weren't asking for this to happen, because no one wants to be hacked, and nobody wants to lose so many years of work. But a lot of their poor decisions seem to be coming back to bite them in the ass, and it doesn't overly surprise me to see this happen.

The complaint about all of the good artists leaving is indeed nebulous, but it has gotten truer as of late. About 90% of their new submissions each day was poorly drawn shit or piss-poor fanfic, and it was a damned miracle that you'd ever see art like >>2297819 lately.

Even if the staff somehow manages to get Y!Gal 2.0 working -- which I'm betting they won't -- it's too little, too late for a lot of people. Tumblr has risen up to become a haven for people to post their art and not have to fear a ban for it. Patreon and Picarto exist now. The only time anyone would use Y-gallery would be to advertise for one of these other services!
>>
>>2297888
Yeah I'm being a tad bit salty too but honestly I really do hope they learn something from it. They need to just think things through more and realize what they're doing to their users.
Most good artists left yeah but there are still some good ones there trust me. There have been a couple new artists that came on the site just this year or last year and they've made a couple people more active. I sure made some new friends there.

>>2297890
While a lot of people have moved to tumblr or twitter, I still like ygal for the stuff you can't post on most websites. Only other place to post shota that I know of would be Pixiv.
>>
>>
>>2297890
I don't know if there's necessarily a correlation between the staff drama and the hacking of the site. There might be but I don't know if that's a connection you can really draw, if you were trying to draw it. That the staff have made a lot of mistakes, sure, among that not backing up the site regularly or storing it elsewhere after the first hacking a few months ago. Of course, y! was never very well funded so I'm not sure if they had the wherewithal for that anyway.

And no, that's entirely fair about the majority of submissions that got posted on the site, that most of them weren't glorious to behold. At the same time, it might be true that "glorious to behold" art isn't exactly common and as another anon mentioned above, everybody has to start somewhere. If y! was meant as a pure art for art site, then it would be different but since y! was sort of an art community, it changed the dynamic a bit. I'm not disagreeing by the way.

I will say though that tumblr always seemed more capricious to me than y!. Yeah, users were reported all the time on y! and often spitefully or were banned. But tumblr often offers no explanation, has some questionable staff itself, and I've heard of a lot more people losing their tumblrs out of nowhere than of artists I'm familiar with being banned on y!. So I'm not sure if tumblr is really a haven. And that might just have to do with the different communities you find/found in tumblr and y!. Picarto is just for streaming and Patreon (which has caused tremendous uproar and outrage, often for exaggerated reasons) isn't an image sharing site so much as a support one. I completely agree with you that there are many more places that have appeared in the past few years for artists to share their work, some working in some ways better or worse than y!. I think it was the interconnected community though that distinguished y! from those sites, even if it was plagued with issues in some ways. Sorry if I'm talking too much.
>>
>>2297892
I made a bunch of friends there which is why it's another sad reason to see it go, especially because I don't have any way of contacting those friends again.

You're right though and I also hope the staff take everything and make the best site they can make and allow more user input. Maybe starting over will allow that to happen.
>>
>>2297883
There have been scares like this in the past which prompted people to make alternative accounts.
The business types will manage. The hobbyists could move on to peruse other interests. I've seen it happen.
>When good artists become lame 3D modelers.
>>
>>2297927
Nah I see your point, thanks for the input. I do hope it gets back up soon because tumblr isn't much of an interactive place to post R18 work. I guess here might work for now.
>>
Don't post it if you have it, but is anyone aware o the username of that one recent Y-Gallery artist who drew shota on bara?

One picture featured 3 on 1 bara with American flag socks

Another had a black boy and an older guy with the after-results of fucking in a bathroom stall, and the guy made a comment asking if it means that they're dating now. And he had a big dick with his load in the condom.

They just barely started posting like a week or so ago.
>>
Y! was my first introduction to yaoi. :(

Good thing I saved all of my pics to a personal folder before I uploaded them. Not that it's of much value -- I kind of suck looking back at them all -- but all of my OC fiction (over 100 chapters worth) was on there and that's the only place I ever uploaded.
>>
>>
Practically everything on r34 is uploaded by Sodomius or CCCC.

Also the Random button seems fixed. Everytime I visit I cycle through the same pages.
>>
>>2297994
It wasn't new to me.
Oh yeah, I think I followed Zyephen over from fanart-central -- I completely forgot that place existed until now.
>>
Aw man, I wish I didn't delete my collections. There's artists that don't draw human characters anymore now that they're furry big shots.
>>
Furry big shots? Like who?
>>
i was thinking about doing something like this,
maybe using a free image hosting site like they do to catalog everything in the drawthread.
people can upload images that we can tag in groups with the artist so we can try and have a back-up.
>>
They say they'll come back with a V2. It's just that we don't know when.
>>
>>2297834
On the other side, I've seen a lot of people who didn't even know there was a rule page. And a lot of tracers, thieves, scammers, people who posted feminine characters saying they were males there, but females on other sites, etc. A big majority of hysterical drama queens and underage stickmen artists too.
The nitpick was real, but you've got to be a real psycho to erase a whole community of innocent people who for some, have seen as much shit as you but are real adults and came back with the forgiveness program, for example.
You've got to be real trash. And you're certainly not welcome anywhere on the Internet.
>>
>>2297842
>>2297848
Stay away from Y!Gallery even when they come back. Thanks. And like people say, if you don't like, you can still ignore and shut the fuck up.
>>
>>2298237
You first have to get a team of real mods and techs. Then, you can think about all the fancy notions. Or you'll end like Y!Gallery.
Don't forget they got robbed by one of their Mod (Sianned), then nearly highjacked by a tech who wanted to transform the site into a lucrative hentai site and wouldn't give the keys back, then there is that hacker, who already attacked once and never got hunt down, reason why he's back. Same for Sianne, by the way. She never got sued and people never saw their money again. That site got targeted so many times by sickos that I'd understand if the whole mod/tech team would just quit, at this point.
Instead of that they've been fighting to protect the community and upgrade the site. I don't think it's fair to insult such people.
>>
>>2298248
Nah, I still rely on ygal for some commissions. I don't talk much on there but the community is good. I may not like the mods or the rules but I'll suck it up if it gets me money.
>>
Whoever did that deserves to go to jail, and stay there.
>>
>>2298291
you may have had something you care about taken from you but that's no reason to have people tortured

be a gattsu, not a griffith
>>
>>2298255
Never was aware of the history of Y-Gallery.

I'm considering just going to Inkbunny. The only big negative is having to censor human dicks.
>>
where do i go now? the hundreds of artists i was watching :(
>>
i need my shota
>>
Ugh, there never was much since I've always been into small fandoms, but there were a couple nice pictures I favorited but never saved. Gone forever.
>>
>>2298295
>tortured
wat.

Simply put this is quite illegal, at least in my country. They do deserve jail time for this.
>>
>>2298320
>small fandoms
>couple of pictures
You're baiting, are you. There were literally millions of illustrations, animations, comics and a lot of people were doing commissions too. The place was huge.
>>
>>2298043
I just remembered that artist and realized all of his non-furry art is gone because of Y! dying. That's what's made me sad, I love his style and huge dicks.
>>
>>2298302
A lot are on Tumbrl or surprisingly, on Furrafinity too as they in fact accept any type of art.

Is this the same person?
>>
I just wanted to say that, I dunno if most people looked into it, but it seems like the whole furry thing and other things people were banned for, was not them being arbitrary or picky, but simply what their hosting site allowed/didn't allow. Furry for example, when the site started, it was allowed. Then a few years later, the hosting site changed their rules, and so Y! had to change theirs. A few years more, and they changed again to say as long as the penises were human looking, it was fine, and that's why they had the issue with furries. I don't know if they ever really explained it that way, but I can understand why the furries were upset about it, but it wasn't their fault.

One of the other issues that people did get reported over, not being clean/not a scan from paper with lines, ect, they were talking about that at the end and considering changing.

As far as the report system... I understand completely why people got upset about it, because people did report stuff just to be ass holes, but at the same time, IF someone was posting something that wasn't allowed on their servers, then it would be important for it to be taken down immediately, and I understand that too. But then if it was fine, or it just wasn't tagged right, it was restored later. It would be nice though if they would have punishment in place for people who spam-report for no reason. Orrr.... I just had a 'good' idea maybe.... I might email one of the mods about it...

Finally, IMO, one of the worst things about Y! the last year or so is Patron. Now, I want to clarify that I don't hate the idea as a whole, there are some great artists out there who deserve to be paid for their awesome work. But when you make it so ALL your work is behind a pay wall.... that kinda sucks, and many once great Y! artists have started doing this. Some are better about it though, only putting some pics as pay only or put them uncensored on Y! a few weeks later.

I am still going to hope for the best for Y! 2.0.
>>
Wow, feels pretty bad to learn about this. I spent a ton of time browsing Y! when I was a horny underage fuck, and I had my start as an artist there.

The state of the place in it's late years was kinda sad but it still sucks hard to see it wrecked like that.
>>
>>
>>2298355
Obviously they stopped doing age checks after the first couple years.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>2298365
Thanks, doc.
>>
All of my stories are gone then, and the art, both commissioned and created by me. They were from before I had backups of everything, all my old work is dead.
>>
What sucks for me is: I don't remember everything I had on favorites. Every art I can think of from Y! can be found else where so far, but I just know at some point in the dark of the night, I'll remember: "Shit! I'll never see that porn piece again!"

Thankfully, porn of some of my favorite characters, I save.
>>
>>2298433
Most of the artists work I had on favorites are either dead or banned and done creating. Sadly, most of my friends were in contact first on there.
>>
>>2297883
MJEsperandieu put himself on r34's Do Not Post list too, so you won't see his stuff there either except a few that might have fallen through the cracks unnoticed.
>>
Idk if it's worth updating sources to tumblr pages.
I gave up on some artists that reinvent their page name frequently- you can end up with a dead page or someone else adopting the old url. Lol, "why do people think I draw porn?"

This.
You have to sift through so much shit on Ygalley to find anything resembling decent pornographic art. The gall of some people posting their absolutely laughable attempts at drawing.
How many decent artists are left on Y? A handful?
>>
No matter how you say it, the way they have lost everything sounds super extra lame. It's not like they were two 13 year old buddies with their first website.
>>
>>2298527
Mamaanna was hard to track down. They posted on a tumblr and moved to Y!, their tumblr got deleted, and then I don't know where they are, now.
>>
>my shame is finally hidden
thank the gods above
>>
>>2298651
I'm pretty sure they did. They must have. After 10 years and many many scares?

It's easier to believe someone sabotaged the site on purpose so they could skip the hard work of bring everything over to Y!2.0
They just don't want to admit they pulled the plug on grandma and aborted their defective baby because it was too high maintenance.
Nah, I'm being dramatic. It's a website, not a person, they could have reboot the place at any point with fair warning.
>>
Fucking finally!
I hated this place, I tried to delete my gallery, even posted a tons of vaginas there, hoping they'll delete everything. But nothing worked! Now it'll be deleted itself.

That place was ridicilous. Absolutely no quality control, with shitty drawn pics being everywhere. But god forbid if you post a pic with mervel logo, or use a known photo as referense - a perfectly good work will be deleted and you'll get a ban for weeks.
>>
>>2298733
You could delete your gallery; just not your account.
What did you do? Use your real name or something?
>>
Huh. So it finally happened. Guess it was inevitable that the ship would sink eventually. It nearly has half a dozen times already.

I'm a little bit torn. It was usually a mixed bag to dig through, and often not worth it, especially in recent years. There were still some gems though. And some abandoned stuff that was still good. I guess what bothers me most are the good things that will probably be lost forever now.

A few years ago after some favorite galleries went up in smoke, I went on a gallery-saving blitz. Doubly glad about that now.

y-gallery update July 14

Our techs are working on putting together yG2, but this will take some time. Our techs are graciously doing this on their own free time when they’re not at their real life jobs. They are doing all this work voluntarily without pay and we’re so appreciative of the time and effort they’re putting in for us.

I have no concrete date of when yG2 will be online as of this time, since it’s still early days, but we’re likely looking at a few months at least. As soon as I know more, I’ll be sure to update here.

Until then, please feel free to join our forums - http://y-galforums.com/ to keep in touch and share your works. We’ll update news there as well. You’re also welcome to email me at [email protected] and I’ll do my best to answer any questions or just chat.

>>
>>2298733

I don't understand people like you. How hard is it to read the rules and follow them?
>>
>>2298848
Not him, but they were way too strict. Recently knew a user who got their submission taken down because their plant guy character had a thorn on his crotch as part of the character design when he had thorns all over his body. And the pic wasn't even sexual, but it went against there being no non-human penises allowed.
>>
>>2298671
>their absolutely laughable attempts at drawing
Any example?
>>
>>2298875
Now you mention plants, I remember they deleted one of my pictures that involved a guy being tentacle-fucked by a plant.
The reason? y-gallery allows tentacles BUT they have to be of the "formless void" as they call it, I still don't understand the rule, like, what was so bad about giving it a body? where's the harm? The drawing was a huge pain in the ass to fix but I had to, actually, move the creature off-screen and show the tentacles like they came from nowhere and it looked really awkward.
Some rules like that make you tiptoe very carefully just to not break some rule they didn't explain carefully... that's the thing that bothered me about the site. The mods would simply delete your image instead of warning you and giving you the chance of fixing any mistake.

You could just upload the fix again (if they allowed it, depending on the drawing) but any previous comment and fav would just be gone.

To anyone worried about oder artwork you might be in luck:

>Our database has been corrupted, but our tech BrocoCoconut is going to be working on fixing it. In the meantime he will be restoring an older version of Y-gallery soon, so the site should be up when he does that.

>The older version is from the 11th of November last year, so anything posted since then won’t show up. We are not 100% sure we’ll be able to fix the database, but at least we do have the older version to work from.

Looks like anything from November 2015 and older is safe, and anything newer is most likely up on other sites as well.

exactly. You cant improve a community if you've destroyed it utterly. This isn't an attack on the mods, this is an attack on the artists. All of them, the good and the bad. Stop bitching about how you got banned for drawing a dog dick or a 3D shota render, this is about some asshole trying to wipe out a website with 12 years worth of art and history and connections. There are people who never posted anywhere else but that site, people who havent updated in years. If they weren't able to recover that, we'll have nothing to remember them from at all. Quit thinking about your own bitchiness.

ygal was shitty in some aspects but it's the only art website i've ever been on that within a month i managed to find exactly the crowd i was aiming for and pick up a bunch of commissions. that's hard, especially when most sites only put fandoms as popular subjects and ocs are left in the dust. i don't think anyone on here was looking for me from ygal, but just in case, ghostfuckk on tumblr.
>>
Agreed. The mods really were shitty but I've gotten more commissions there within only two months of making an account than I've gotten on any other website. It was the only site where people actually gave a shit about original art too and not just fan art. Hell I think my original stuff got MORE faves than any fan art I ever did. And it was a place where I wouldn't have to worry about seeing tits shoved in my face or sudden vagina.

Until ygal gets back, should we start a new artist from ygal thread or just put links in this one? It'll be good to try and find some of the artists if they did have other websites.

if such people exist, who don't know of the alternatives and didn't kept backups chances are they're the same retarded tracers you talk about. no self-respecting artists dumps all of their art in the shit-filled-gutter that was y-gallery, without any backup.
>>

http://www.pixiv.net/member.php?id=139061

>>
>>2303158
A lot of them have since retired or only checked in occasionally since they started working or some shit, and Y!Gallery would still be the only place you had any hope of contacting or see any of their art.

Not to mention that a lot of artists have different names across various sites making it difficult to find one, much less a dozen such artists.
>>
Does BadEnd have an account they frequent outside of Y-Gallery? He had planned to post a Strider Hiryu gif on Y-Gallery, but then this shit happened.
>>
Kinda wonder why once they found out about the attack why they didn't just cut the cord and start running data recovery. But then again a proper backup scheme would have made this attack on the database irrelevant and an inconvenience at best. It's just common sense, especially when your site is a target for hackers.
>>

>>
>>2297834
u18 chan got hit too with their servers dropping, but folk there had back up (it's a furry site but they got attacked the same time that ygallery did)
>>
I say good riddance. Y!gallery was good when It first started out but the last couple of years the site really just went downhill and the general activity seem to decline as well. Its a shame that there isn't really an alternative to Y at present but that doesn't give it a pass for being generally pretty bad
>>
>>2307541
I dunno, they're almost at a thousand pre registrations so that seems pretty active to me so far
>>
>>2307582
But how many of them are content creators?
Good content? Not terrible fanfics.
Old Y! was at 40 submissions a day, but always just clicked on "today's tops" to see the 1-2 submissions that were worth seeing and ignored everything else.
>>
I heard that they were going to restore some of the old artwork; like everything from last November and back.
Is this true?
>>
>>2308651
Not anymore. They lost all of their data.
>>
>>2308375
Good point.
I've been around Picarto and their tumblr and a couple of the good artists that were on ygal are signing up for 2.0. Since they are starting over, would they be considered a new website? Maybe more content creators would sign up so it can be more active. So far as I know ygal is still the only decent place to find mostly or all male art
>>
>>2308839
It's still convenient for people to sign up now if the new Y-gal isn't a dumpster fire, but I think the ship has sailed for a lot of the older 'good' artists. I can't see a lot of them fully returning unless the staff is completely reorganized and the rules are completely overhauled so they're not so retardedly restrictive.
>>
>>2308831

Nah, its not perfect, but what site is? I pre-registered the moment I got the notice. I'm sticking with it and still gunna post there once its up and running.

Tumblr is great and all but having artwork being lost in the void of reblogs isn't all that its cracked up to be.

I feel like I've made a quiet little home on Y!g and I'm going to move right back in! :)

(Also, shameless OC)

>Tumblr is great and all but having artwork being lost in the void of reblogs isn't all that its cracked up to be.

I AGRE IT IS SHTI!
>>
>>2297806
to be honest I'm pretty happy they lost all their shit, not that I'm happy the art is lost because that sux, and I don't have a backup plan for where to read degenerate vor fanfics atm, but over the last 5 years I lost access to about 3 accounts due to e-mail shenanigans and I was really worried for a while there that I would never be able to remove my old shitty art.

I hope if they do create a new site they make it easier for people to regain access to their accounts, and definitely make it possible to delete accounts entirely. That being said I have a lot of art saved and in the works for if they ever get back up and going.
>>
>>2297822

why would someone do this anyways? So pointless, instead of wasting time in this harmless site they should hack and destroy deviantART for all those reports ignored and stolen art being sold at their shop
>>
>>2298932
Holy fuck, why did you have to mention that. I'm legitimately sad now
>>
>>2312955
Kinda agree with you... I wanted to delete my old accounts too but I have a hard time deleting things, so this taking the decision out of my hands was actually a great thing. Now if only someone will wipe DA's database too haha....
>>
Okay, so it's a bit of a stretch, but there was a user on y-gallery called Akakuma. They made/wrote a lot of quality guro art/stories, and I don't have backups for any of them, and it seems like they've all been lost to the void forever. The only thing I've been able to find so far is an old, not their best work Inuyasha image on rule34.

One of the ones that stands out in my mind was a set of stories/images involving an elf (of some sort?) and a serial killer. =/
>>
>>2313472
I managed to save some of Akakuma's images but not all of them. I hope you will at least be able to find the images you are looking for in the images I saved.

That site had nothing to do with yaoi, not when they force you to add adam apples to androgynous male characters. Or when you ignore all the new trends that are making gay art even richer everywhere else, starting by big pecs. Even Furaffinity and Hentai Foundry let you post whatever you want. I'm glad a place like Y!Gallery, full of drama all the time, is at last gone. They had plenty of donation money, didn't move a finger to boost the security and keep all the artists safe after the first hacking. Result, they got totally wiped at the second. By the same hacker. The same way. WTF.
If they're ever back, it's with the same people who don't know shit about security, the same stupid rules that are all phrased to become traps, and the same habit of shaming people who don't draw the way they want. Never again.
>>
>>2314592
By big "pecs" I assume you mean Gyno.
That's like calling Jaundice a "Golden Tan"

Hentai Foundry screens for quality control.
And obviously you don't know anything about Furaffinity.
>>
>>2314592
My guess is just like another anon above; they just nuked the old ygal to make room for 2.0. There's no way they're THAT dumb to get the whole site rekd by a hacker in the same way again. They did it on purpose because they dont know how to handle a website.
>>
What is wrong with y-gallery?

The site's been compromised so many times.

To verify if you're over 18, the admins demand a copy of your government ID and claim they'll keep it secure and confidential.

They seriously want people's private information and yet keep getting hacked this badly?

They might as well post all your information on a sketchy Russian site.
>>
>>2318070
Right? The pre-registering thing felt like a phishing scam.
I never got a confirmation email. The .org domain already disappeared. And now I'm reading "we not associated with y-gallery.org"

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a secret sting operation cracking down on a CP ring. Pedophilia is a common attribute in autistic adults, and there were a LOT of openly autistic members. The government is probably going through their PMs right now. Solving a bunch of missing children cases.
It'll be interesting to see who doesn't come back. I can think of a few that nobody would miss.
>>
>>2319691
aw, I didn't mean to sound like I was demonizing autism.
I'm just saying if you review their favorites page and it's full of nothing but shota torture art; That might be a red flag.
>>
>>2319719
I don't mind seeing bizarre content, I usually just ignore what I don't like.
But I really do wonder about the mental state of some artists.
Especially when its something highly specific in picture repeated over and over.
I found an artist that had a handkerchief gag over the mouth of every character, in every picture.
Not that disturbing visually, but to have that singular fixation, must be a sign of deeper issues.

How was that baiting? Pretty much every series I liked was unpopular and I only ever looked at fanart on there. I'm legitimately a little bit upset at the loss of those pictures. Yeah, it's not the reason most people are upset, but shit dude, when there's only so many pictures for a fandom and you lose 10 completely off the face of the internet it stings a bit.
