If you want to bang the teacher then you don't get a good ending or get to be romantic with him. The moment you get the H scene his ending route is cut off. You barely get to be romantic with him and the subplot with another teacher trying to get him fired is just weird. Amos is really pushy in his interests. They obviously write him to be sort of a genteel type of person that likes finer things in life but if you choose any option that doesn't make you sound as pretentious as Amos is he constantly belittles Mark. To make matters worse you can only really fail his path if you drink while riding a bike to his place. The "villains" on his route are also a dick just as pretentious as Amos is and a hyper faggot that is awful to you no matter what you do.

They also add in a wrestling fetish and that's pretty much the center of his conflict. His route ends with the two of you in a tag team erotic wrestling match that just gets weirder the less pretentious you are to him. Then there's four endings depending on what you decide to do, two good and two bad. The first one ends with you running a rabbit farm or some gay shit in France. The second is you two monetizing the erotic wrestling thing and forming a league. The third has you two forming a cult before you turn Amos in to get out of jail and become a holistic doctor who literally blows smoke up people's asses. The last one has you two breaking up while Mark becomes bitter and it subtly admonishes you for not being a pretentious fuckhead.

Not only that but things get...weird. Your first date with Amos is in a hot air balloon with a crippled dog and you guys have to hold it while it shits over the side. Then during the erotic wrestling Ian pops up out of nowhere depending on how you took the route, and you can make the villains fuck each other in flower suits. And finally if you took the bad end where you end up alone the ref performs autoerotic asphyxiation in front of everyone while an LSD dream plays out.

It just keeps getting worse the more I think about it.

Not to mention you spend a lot of the other plots getting to know the other guy (Phil, Brad, Jed...) but Alex you don't really get to know him at all. He pretty much spends the entire route avoiding you like the plague because his job might be on the line.

I agree an H scene at the end would be better. I'm hoping Obscura doesn't get bored and move on after all the KS backing stuff is released. Alex is the only main plot too that you can't stop, and he desperately needs to get fucked...

The only thing Psycho about his storyline for me was his exboyfriend, and yourself (if you do all the weird options).

i don't think he's psycho as much as autistic. even if you pick the nicest options, MC never seems to like Amos that much, and Amos seems more concerned about pushing his personality/identity/interests/fetishes on Mark than learning about Mark himself (or even being emotionally aware of Mark beyond this object he can push onto it). i don't think it's that well-written and basically turns into a joke route.

I enjoyed COOT but I probably wouldn't support the dev again because of how slow she is. It takes 3 months just to add two dates? On an engine (Ren'py) that's pre-existing and you've been working with for years now? I guess if you're outsourcing backgrounds + CGs she might be the bitch to other people's schedules, but in the time Obscura will have taken to do a dating sim, Stardew Valley had its own pixel art, engine, music, etc. created by scratch also by ONE dev. Not that it's fair to compare devs, but I backed this game on KS in 2012 and it's nearly 4 years later and it's still not 'done'.

I'd gladly support it again. It's 10 extra guys on top of the original 6 for a 15 dollar game. And that's for the complete game TOTAL, with no charge for the add-ons. It's not "free"—they came from stretch goals on KS. The dev got $4000 for every date that's being added. You're right that adding more dates didn't make the price of the game go up, but you're making it sound like the dev is doing it for free, but people gave money to pay for those extras. It's DLC, but DLC that was crowdsourced and paid for years ago.

I dunno about you guys but I have the strangest suspicion that something's gonna happen on April 1st.

So here's my personal review of the two new dates, without giving away the story or too many details.
Cesar is alright, standard muscle daddy type whatever. And his story with Mark is pretty funny, gave me a few chuckles. But Terry's story however I got really interested in the more I played it.
I can somewhat see why Obscura took what seemed like an eternity t

Each of the bonus dates have 2 photos, so if you want both, you gotta replay the entire thing, or save at just the right time.

Date with Cesar -- 6/10
Date with Terry -- 8/10

I played both of the new dates (so this comment will have some minor spoilers). Terry is my favorite date out of all six so far(!), and has some of the hottest CGs in the game. gg, obscura. It's nice to see Mark top again for once as well. Kinda wish Terry was a full route, tbhfam.

Cesar was kinda cheesy and uninspired, but it fulfills a few popular fetishes (roleplaying, uniforms, power play) so I get why it's in there. Kinda bored with seeing Mark bottom. There's only one bonus date left right (there's supposed to be 7 total?)... hope Mark gets to top again!

When I try to look at my dates in the "gallery" section though my game crashes. lol 3 months of work for this...

i don't really understand the paranoia behind this post. there's plenty of fans who think indie creators should be paid for their efforts--at least in practically non-existant markets like gay dating sims out of the West.

i hope obscura does read these threads so she can see brutally honest critiques (online reviews on yt/gaming sites are probably going to be generous since they're tied to real people, as anon allows us to be truly honest).

IMO, COOT is a fun game and it's def. worth the money and everyone should buy it. the game has goofy, amateurish writing at times, including the incredibly fujoshi sex scenes, and while the art can be beautiful, the penises look alien and sometimes look attached upside down. but all of this is part of its charm too.

tl;dr: hope obscura does lurk so she can read honest criticism and take it to heart for her next game and/or COOT sequel.

Does depend on the persons interests and what not but with all that content, the people who buy and look into the game most likely will find something they like. Not everything will appeal to some people and thats fine but I do believe $15-$20 is more than a fair amount.

No, Thank You!!! is similar in terms of a BL game with uncensored sex scenes, although NTY is Japanese and a little more hardboiled/crime-oriented than casual/fluff dating. But it's influenced by Western crime media, so it feels slightly more Americanized.

It's hard to find J games that are uncensored, b/c the only way that's happened is if they've been officially released on Western markets.

And there's not many Western dating games either that are well done and porny. Sadly, it's a pretty uncharted territory, but hopefully if people keep buying games/supporting crowdfund campaigns, there will be more.
