Cruhteo’s pale eyes narrow and his chin lifts fractionally; his regret is as hard to pick out as Inaho’s desire, but Slaine can spot it even beneath the layers of pride and stubbornness.

“Don’t heckle him,” says Inaho, unruffled, briskly unbuttoning his own heavy coat. Slaine blinks; it still catches him by surprise every time he hears Inaho casually tell Versian nobles what to do. He isn’t rude, exactly, but there’s no deference or formality to his phrasing.

Cruhteo looks as irritated at Inaho as he does at Saazbaum, but Saazbaum has never shown any sign of being bothered by Inaho’s boldness. “My apologies,” he offers, though his mouth quirks into a slight smile. “But whatever you’re planning, I’m sure you can find better help than a pair of dirty old men.”

Slaine is still bad at reading Saazbaum when his voice gets that deliberately careless; Inaho ignores the insincere lightness altogether. “Maybe,” he says, stripping methodically out of his uniform pants, “but they might talk afterward.” He raises a finger, counting. “You won’t, because it doesn’t help you to undermine him.” A second finger. “And I know you want him.” A third. “And you owe him.” Slaine and Inaho have gone over these reasons before, but it still sounds strange to hear them spoken so boldly. Saazbaum shrugs faintly; presumably he doesn’t see the point of denying it in front of Cruhteo and Slaine.

But Cruhteo’s jaw clenches for a moment as he looks at Inaho. “I have no obligation to /you/.”

Inaho nods, unbothered by Cruhteo’s haughtiness. He straddles Slaine with practiced ease, back to the counts, and slips a finger under Slaine’s chin. Slaine looks up obediently, and Inaho raises an eyebrow. Hidden from the counts’ view by Inaho’s slender shoulders, Slaine nods his own wordless affirmation. Inaho stays still for a moment, then leans forward, rubbing their stiffening cocks together. Slaine moans audibly into the gag and throws back his head as Inaho wraps a hand around them. From the corner of his eye, he can see quiet Inaho biting his lip, chest rising and falling fast as he starts to breathe heavily. Apologies have been made, acceptances given, but the words are all insufficient to set those years of abuse right. And it’s messier than all that, because logically Slaine shouldn’t want anything to do with Cruhteo, but he’s never hated him, and still doesn’t hate him, and lately he can’t stop fantasizing about large, familiar, relentless hands pinning him down, spreading him wide…

Being in a position of having to seduce and reassure Cruhteo is new, but will be worth it if it works.

He catches Cruhteo’s eyes for a moment, then flicks his gaze to the ornately twisted braid at Cruhteo’s lapels that marks a member of the Imperial Household; those little knots are a careful physical sign of trust and forgiveness. And Slaine spreads his legs slightly, not enough to be completely vulgar but enough to whisper as his skin tugs at the heavy bedding, because this is about invitation and wanting, too.

Cruhteo pauses a few moments longer, then sighs quietly and crosses the room, sinking to one knee between Slaine’s legs. It takes a heartbeat for Slaine to realize why the motion is familiar; by then, Cruhteo has already caught Slaine’s hand and lifted it to his lips. It would be chaste – Cruhteo’s lips barely brush against Slaine’s skin, and his grip is respectfully soft – except for the fact that Slaine is completely naked and stiffening just from imagining the possibility of those lips and hands sliding over the rest of his body. He swallows hard, and knows that he’ll never be able to think about Cruhteo’s second investiture the same way again.

Cruhteo lifts a hand to the nape of Inaho’s neck to reassert control, and for a moment their kiss seems to deepen. But then Inaho reaches back to push Cruhteo’s hand away and turns to look at Slaine. His expression is calm and almost blank, but his face and neck are flushed pink and there’s a thin trail of Slaine’s cum dripping down his chin. In a certain village’s church, there was a single young priest. Although the priest was an extremely sincere and honest man, unfortunately this village was mostly filled with people who follow an indigenous cult, thus not a single person came to pray to the God whom the priest serves.
One particular year, an epidemic spread through village. People who came from elsewhere knew the disease is a common one. However in an isolated community such as the village, such knowledge is absent. Whether praying to the God they believe in everyday or asking a shaman for exorcism, the disease showed no sign of dying down. The villagers grew desperate and sought knowledge from the priest whom they had never talked to. Knowing how much shame the villagers must have felt in bowing their heads to a stranger, the young man who appeared from the church and willingly told the villagers a solution to their problems. The priest informed them of a specific medicine, and gave them the root of the plant needed for the medicine which was grown in the church. To those who have yet to contract the disease, the priest even gave prophylactic medicine along with the bulb of the flower from the flower bed needed for said medicine. The villagers were extremely grateful and took the ingredients back to the village. They believed that by giving all the villagers the medicine, they would be saved.

And so in one week, the village was free from the disease and none were infected. At the same time, not one person was left alive.
The fact that the cause of death for all the villagers was the poisonous plants they consumed was no longer known to anyone but the priest.

Let us talk about the priest.
The name of the priest in question was Slaine Troyard. His age is 20. He was a devout follower who didn’t even know of women. At that age, he was left to minister a church and with high spirits he moved to the remote village beyond the mountains.
However as previously mentioned, that village was filled with a community who did not follow the church’s teachings. Forget being welcomed, the priest was treated as a burden and he was even rejected entry into the village itself. Even so, the priest did not give up. He believed the day will come when everyone will worship the same God, and so he continued his simple lifestyle of praying to God every day. One day, a young man paid a visit to the church. The young man who called himself Inaho always stood in front of the gate for some reason, never trying to enter the church grounds. Thinking he was restraining himself, Slaine took the young man’s hand and invited him into the church.

However, the moment his foot entered the church’s grounds, the young man’s expression was completely changed. He quickly and strongly pulled in the arm held by Slaine, and threw a fist into Slaine’s stomach.
Slaine, who took a blow to the defenseless stomach, slumped into the ground on his knees. A pink liquid resulting from the mixture of blood and gastric juices (wut) spread on the lawn. [Thank you for letting me in, stupid Priest-san].
While listening to the playful sounding whisper, Slaine quickly lost his conscience, without being able to even offer a prayer to the God he respected and loved.

The next time Slaine opened his eyes, the young man by the name of Inaho was standing in front of him clad in a soutane.
Looking at the surroundings, they were inside a room in the church’s basement. Usually used as a storeroom, the dark room made from stone had a small ventilated window.

Seeing the bitter smile on Inaho’s face as he pulled on the collar, Slaine realized he was stripped off his own Soutane. In addition he also noticed he was being chained. One of the chains tying down his wrists was longer and tied to the lattice of the window in order to restrict his movement. Although the chains were quite long, they were adjusted such that Slaine could barely reach the door. Slaine was lost as to why he was being held in this place. If he was a robber, escaping would be the logical thing to do, there was no need to strip Slaine off of his robe. Consequently, when Slaine asked [why], Inaho gave his shoulders a shrug for an answer.

[Right after you were tied down, a person from the nearby village came and asked for help to rid of the disease plaguing the village. So I posed as a priest, and gave them wolf’s bane and red spider lilies. With those, I’m sure that person along with all the villagers will live happily along with the God you worship.]

Wolf’s bane and Red spider lilies. Both plants were grown in this church. Although Wolf’s bane was native, red spider lilies were brought by Slaine. Although both had beautiful flowers, they were also well known for their poisonous properties. Consuming them accidentally would lead to death’s door. Inaho clearly knew and gave them with the purpose of killing them all.

Slaine yelled, sprung up from the bed, and tried to get close to Inaho. But Inaho easily dodged Slaine’s advance, and Slaine could only struggle with the chains holding him down. He pinned down the chains holding Slaine down and grabbed his neck, he sneered while pulling Slaine down and rode him.

[Too bad. I am the devil himself, Slaine Troyard]

Slaine was at a loss for words at the black wings growing out from Inaho’s back. The fact that a demon was able to enter a holy place like the church was a situation that should never have happened.

Unable to muster up the strength to swallow, saliva overflowed down from Slaine’s mouth to his cheeks and on to his hair. No longer seeing the purpose of resisting, Slaine’s consciousness gradually starts to drift away.
It’s no use, I’m going to die. When Slaine was about to give up on his own life, the demon suddenly released his hands from Slaine’s neck. Just like that, the demon looked down on Slaine who was finally able to inhale air while coughing violently and said [Don’t give up so soon, I can’t play with you if you do]

An icy cold and unimpressed gaze. Slaine who was projected from the depth of the demon’s eyes was overcome by fear; his mouth stiffened and he grasped the pendant on his chest tightly.

He has never confronted a real demon before. No experience at exorcising a demon. At the young priest who stood firm while being scared at the strange enemy, the demon indifferently replied.

Inaho let out a bitter smile and wiped Slaine’s tears with his fingertips. The long fingernail cut Slaine’s skin, leaving a straight red line.
Then Inaho took Slaine’s hands and traced the open wound with his tongue.

Slaine pulled his arm due to the pain, but was no match for the demon’s grip. A second time, third, the demon gouged Slaine’s open wound as he continued to shamelessly moan.

The next bite tore at the exposed nerves and Slaine seized up as the sharp pain penetrated deep into his skull. Even he could not help but scream out in pain, his face wet and streaming with tears, saliva and mucus. If it were to escape from this kind of pain, it would certainly make someone want to abandon their beliefs too. However, even though Slaine cries, he still had no intentions of giving in to the pain yet. Inaho also gave no signs of giving up just yet either. “You’ve passed for the time being. As a reward, I’ll remove this wound. It seems like you’re going to be rather entertaining.”
Slaine could only pant heavily in response.

To end the pain quickly, Inaho simply licked Slaine’s wound. As soon as he did, surprisingly, the wound disappeared without a trace instantly. There was a dull throb of pain left in his palm, but otherwise the hole in Slaine’s hand had all but disappeared. Slaine even tried opening and closing his hand two or three times experimentally, but it didn’t feel uncomfortable at all. This was the devil’s handiwork. To a person who knew nothing, this could also be seen as a miracle, nothing short of the work of God. Having attended to Slaine, Inaho quickly stepped back from him.

“Now, what should I try next?”

The demon looked down as Slaine breathed feebly, sharpening his nails with an amused expression. At the thought of the pain that might follow after what he had just experienced, Slaine could not help but tremble, his teeth chattering in fear. A pain so unbearable, he would have no choice but to give up his faith. Hunger and thirst; the cold and the heat, right now, it was not hard to imagine that this was similar to hell. If this were the case, given the opportunity, Slaine would have liked to run away as soon as possible. But, when one’s faith in the Lord was cast aside, there would be no hope for oneself after death.

It seemed like no matter what Slaine chose to do, hell was waiting either way. That being the case, even whilst being tortured to death, he would have liked to be a righteous believer in God right up until my final moments. And so, Slaine steeled his resolve. However, a demon is more in tune to the inner workings of the human heart far more than any god. Inaho could easily see through Slaine’s resolution and he smirked.

“Did you know, Human. There’s nothing more effective than pain and fear to make someone obey you. The sins that men succumb to the quickest are laziness and lust.”

People enjoy being lazy. They also like to feel good. At first glance, it is much easier to endure than pain, however when it’s being carried out, this is what causes man to fall into depravity the most.
“There is nothing that man is able to remove through abstinence.” Inaho murmured, grasping at Slaine’s shirt and tearing at it with full force as Slaine yelped.

The buttons snapped off and flew off to the side whilst the tatters of Slaine’s shirt fluttered to the ground. Slaine’s abdomen was exposed, revealing the purpling bruise that was starting to form from where he had been hit before. As he was tracing the colour, Inaho pressed his lips to Slaine’s chest.

“I wonder how far your honesty goes.”
