The hard thing for most people to digest is that conspiracies, by the very nature of the word, involve multiple parties with multiple agendas. JFK was killed by LBJ to avoid an embezzlement charge, CIA because he depowered them after Bay of Pigs, FBI for unclear reasons, politicians with an interest in maintaining the puppet government of Vietnam implemented following the dissolution of French Indochina, and big oil in the interest of seizing deposits in the South China sea.

9/11 was committed by the CIA for unclear reasons, Israel to justify US military presence in the middle east to strongarm anti-Israel entities, big oil in the interest of seizing deposits in the middle east, the owner of the trade center for insurance fraud, corrupt politicians to take the spotlight off a massive financial scandal that was scheduled to come to light that day, the US military to justify internal arms trade through the Patriot Act, very probably several other parties for several other reasons, and maybe even a bunch of pissed off Muslims.

That's what a conspiracy is. A complicated and confusing venn diagram of accountability and agenda. It doesn't get adequate circulation because it's not as catchy and clean as "Jews did 9/11," and that's why you don't know. People don't want the truth, they want someone to blame.
