This makes no sense, I can see the Moon all day and it significantly dropped in altitude tonight and was red, the skies are completely clear and I could see clouds moving in front of and behind it.

I saw a red moon at Blackheath about ten years ago. Nothing bad happened.

Im not sure exactly what you mean but the Moon was definitely off... it always seems like it is to me. If you mean it looked like a Lunar Eclipse than turned to normal then yes.
