I've been trying to nail down the FILD technique for lucid dreaming but I can't seem to get full Lucidity. I can remember dreams, do stuff in there but I never pass through the reality check where I grab my nose and breathe. I don't want to concentrate on the time I've been tapping my fingers because I hear it wakes you up. I usually put an alarm about 4 and a half hours before I close my eyes. What should I think about? Am I missing anything?

I saw a cool technique I'll yet to try on LE REDDIT where you imagine yourself clapping your hands while you drift to sleep, concentrate on it and try to get it as clear as possible in your mind in a rhytmic fashion. What should happen is when you transition into sleep you''ll find yourself clapping and you'll know it's a dream cause you're actually clapping instead of imagining it. Works only when going to sleep again after waking up, same as all other methods with good success, so you can transition into REM sleep straight away right.
