I wonder how big that sphere is.

The only thing I can think of is that it's a foil balloon tethered to the ground, but there's no visible wire, and the object itself isn't swaying in the wind at all. Plus the helicopter checking it out is pretty insane.

I have no idea what it is.

Weather balloons never hover around like that guys... I think only the drone excuse can be applicable in this case.
