Its a continuation of the Star Wars US defence program.

I reckon its just a missile launcher in orbit.

Probably drops recon sats for the NRO or orbital weapons platforms. Also probably capable of scooping foreign sats directly out of orbit.

It's used to survey satellites from less than friendly nations. It's autonomous so that no explanation needs to be given when a pilot doesn't come home. The war in space appears to already be on.

Just a testbed for some advanced military electronics and software. Maybe also some new camera-equipment used in warfare. Probably a more flexible and mobile alternative to sattelites and the U2 Program.

Full spectrum satellite. Nuke sniffer, Ariel recon with many different types of sensors. Once improved upon we'll have hundreds in orbit.
