I don't know if there are any comics that have the same ideas I listed cause I rarely read comics but I would like to read one with the same premise as what I listed, if anyone has any comic suggestions tell me.

could add some comedy if need be

But the main thing I want more in paranormal comics it's adventure, good lord cape comics have become dull in that aspect.

Two-bit webcomic writer here. I'm going to withhold some ideas I have because I'm trying to motivate myself into working on them again, but I can brainstorm, sure.

I don't know, man. Actually using a superhero feels like it ruins some of the horror appeal. Keep the protagonist vulnerable, only capable of escaping because they use their wits and are genre savvy enough to know what works.

Try and study the occult if you want a bit of weight to the concepts.

Yeah, exactly. I've been reading through both Hellblazer and Doctor Strange lately, and I think that's what puts Hellblazer on top for me. Less reliance upon nonsensical OC cosmology, more magical realism.

Sounds pretty generic but could be fun anyway. Any excuse for a mashup between the mundane and the fantastic is some of the most entertaining. Like how in comedy, some of the most basic but amusing scenarios are the interplay between normal and insane. So it goes for horror and fantasy, at least in my opinion. People are just living their ordinary lives, then suddenly a goddamn kaiju smashes through their city, and they have to cope with the fallout of that devastation.

Good old urban fantasy.

I've been thinking about something along those lines too, with supposed great and powerful sorcerers ultimately being more like Oz. Like I said, less superhero, more ordinary person. Like the Ghostbusters, you've got everyday schmoes in over their heads. That's appealing. When the protagonist is familiar and relatable, it makes the horror greater, and the protagonist more heroic for actually putting up with this shit to help others.

I always thought they could've done way more with the movie Cabin in the Woods. Like kinda where the movie leaves off. The governments of the world all made a pact with these ancient evil gods and they failed to appease them. So now they unleash all these demonic creatures upon the Earth. The creatures are all manifestations of our worst nightmares (monsters, zombies, clowns, etc..)
