If reality really was a dream, how would we find out?
>>19518904
by waking up or becoming lucid.
>>19518904
just pull the plug

What if it turns out that you're just a part of someone else's dream?
What do you do about that?
>>19518921
reality is subjective anyway, pull dat plug
>>19518932
But what would the objective reality be like?
>>19518921
then it's really no different. we all die anyway, which we have no control over, just like the characters in our dreams have no control over when we awaken and they disappear.

Good point.
What would the objective reality be then if this one is subjective and meaningless?
>>19518950
our dreams may be subjective but they are not meaningless. just one example being salvador dali - he used dream imagery and hypnogogic imagery as inspiration for much of his work.
>>19518980
hmm, I do enjoy Dali's work
>>19518983
also, if we are just dreams in the mind of a sleeper, or some other form of construct within a greater mindlike system then whatever constitutes baseline reality may not even be comprehensible to us. like when you awaken from a dream and can recall a phrase or something from the dream, but it makes absolutely no fucking sense whatsoever in the waking world even though it may have held the greatest of importance in the dreamworld.
shit is likely to be so different as to be beyond comprehension.
