Are any of you pagans? If you are what religion are you specifically and how do you practice it. I'm a shitty eclectic Germanic pagan with New Age influence (don't hate me)

Aren't most non-Christian beliefs technically "Pagan"?

I don't know if I'm "specifically" anything, but I do have Jedi leanings.
>>
>>19515389

By definition any non-hebraic religion (Islam, Judaism, Christianity) is pagan.
>>
>>19515389
>>19515400
Paganism can broadly refer to any Non-Abrahamic religion, but it usually refers to Pre Abrahamic religions from Europe and the Near East.
>>
>>19515371
When you say I wanna believe in some God and you get 50 bibles of different religions you never heard of. This is why paganism has problems with people their are way to many beliefs.
>>
No, I'm agnostic...? Sorta? What do you call it when one is p sure, but doesn't quite believe that gods are thought forms x10?
I do practice witchcraft, I guess eclectic would be the correct term. Lots of traditional stuff (herbs and such) and a little bit of chaos. Pretty heavy on premonitions and divination since that's kinda what got me into this whole mess.
>>
>>19515416
>their are way to many beliefs.
>their
Hm.

The same could be said of all religions, honestly. So many options. But familiarity is not always suitability. Hell, even if a person studies many of them and goes back to what they grew up with, they'll likely be much more well-rounded than someone who saw all the other religions out there and went, "Nope, too many, too scary."

Question though: are you talking about bibles you've never heard of, or religions you've never heard of? Either way, it's probably best to get a bit familiar with them; even if you never read the texts, it's good to know that such things exist.
>>
>>19515416
Paganism isn't a religion any more than "Abrahamism" is a religion. You being frustrated with them is equal to getting frustrated with muslims for having a different book from christians. It doesn't make sense.

Ayy kemetic pagan here. Anubis introduced me to the pantheon. I don't really like saying I worship them since I have deeply-rooted trust issues when it comes to religion and deities but they've been understanding and actually pretty encouraging about it.

Essentially hundreds of years ago a stone cutter in Spain was thought have God's grace, and information would just come to him. Using his new found skills and old blood ties, he eventually found himself placed into the Spanish Nobility. He found himself a wife from among common people, and they had children. Their children seemed to have the same gift the father did, but could also do more (One spoke with the dead, while another specialized in Divination, etc.) This went relatively unoticed for a while. However, generations later a Daughter of this group was wed to one of Giacomo Casanova's Bastards of Spain, They begot a Daughter, and their Daughter begot a Daughter in the 19th Century named "Esperanza" (She who hopes) Now, Esperanza (who had moved to Puerto Rico) was strong with the gift, and her grandaughter encountered spirits on her property seeking a visit. Esperanza also worked for the Puerto Rican police, as the spirits of the fallen would seek her out for aid,

>>19519036
Esperanza's Daughter was great at divining by way of board and by fire, and the two of them had began mapping out details of the after life, of ."God", and of Spirits. Now, it came to pass in the 50's that Esperanza's Daughter divorced her husband, who was a Portuguese Noble, and left the children as state earlier in Esperanza's care as she headed to California. Year's after this the Older of Esperanza's Grand daughters left as well to live with their mother. Things were stagnant for a while, but then came the day that Esperanza's daughter fell ill with an intense illness, one that there was no hope of returning from. Cont.

>>19519044
Uhhhh is this about you? I don't wanna read all this and have it be some pasta
>>
>>19519044
Now, while on her death bed (80s now) cursing at her daughter, Esperanza's daughter received an interesting Visitor. Nichiren Buddhists were professing and giving hand outs to those suffering in the Hospital, one of them, who has a name that has been forgotten in the last 30 years taught Esperanza's Daughter the chant "Nam Myoho Renge-Kyo", which their faith believes that via visualization, that if you chant it for 5 minutes a day for 30 days, you shall get what you visualized. And so the whole family did, and Esperanza's Daughter was Spared, this established the beliefs of the Family religion. Cont.
>>
>>19519055
Yes, it is, Esperanza was my Great Great Grandmother.
>>
Most wimmins are pagans, and it almost always involves the moon.
>>
>>19519057
So, Esperanza's grand daughter's son had me, this information was passed to me from Esperanza's grand daughter. The faith is as Follows
-There are spirits from higher and Lower planes Incarnate on the Earth
-The universe is Sentient, and it and god are 1 and the same
-The Catholic Saints are those with the gift who have ascended and may now help others from Beyond the grave
-When a person or animal dies, they go to a temporary paradise or hell before incarnating, after having lived every type of human existence possible, the soul goes to a True heaven
-Using the gift for power or self benefit is a crime
-Do no harm
-Spirits can and will interact with you
-The family only exists as reincarnations of eachother
-A generation's Middle child will be the most gifted
-Then 108 Desires are what make us human
-Life by the Lotus Sutra and the Poison Arrow Sutra
-The evil are evil, the just are just
-Use your talents to help others
-Establish permanency
-Live only to Learn
cont.
>>
>>19519075
-Intuition is something all must use
-Respect the Elderly
-Greed, Lust, and Addiction are the truest of Evils

that's about all I'm allowed to say

>>19519073

Most people have a limited view of what Paganism is.

You say pagan to them and they think Thor and Vikings.

But the old Pagan Pantheon was through all cultures of the world not just the Vikings.

Thor being a god of Lighting and Storms is Zeus.

Zeus is the god linked to the Planet of the Storms Jupiter.

The Lord of the Storm is the Sumerian Enlil. En means Lord and Lil means Wind breath or Storm.

Hinduism has Indra, the god who's weapon is the Lightning bolt.

What these cultures are describing is the same god, from their own perspective.

As a Comparative Mythologist its our job to identify and point out these Similarities.

According to Rob Skiba those old God's were either fallen angels/powerful demons or just heros of reknown in the old world. He is a flat Earther and stetches truth to make his theory for at times but does a decent job of comparing different dieties among different regions to each other to fit his main theory that revolves around Nimrod

Ive listened to some lectures by him and while he goes into detail he is still a loyal follower of the Demiurge.

He leads people to be loyal to the False god.
