I've been wrestling with something.

But in reconciling life with god I find that believing that we are within god's plan leads me to become content and without a desire to do anything or excel, because what we do doesn't matter if there's some end time and ultimate judgment that destroys all we do. However if I consider the position that either there is no god, or it's a deistic god, I feel that what we do is all the more important because humanity is its own testament. Every day counts, every action is infinitely more important.
