well most of them are horrifying monsters that eat people or make them suffer. Also, check out Plum island, this is their specialty.
the real question is why do we always insist on using genetic engineering only to create things that will be bad for us, like GMO's for example. We could literally use that same knowledge to create real superfood or put animal protein into plants thus solving world hunger because all food would be much more substantial. but why would we do anything useful for humanity with out advancements?
