I live in an alternate universe where the Mandela Effect is universally considered a bullshit excuse for having a terrible memory.

About two years ago Malboro changed name to Marlboro and it freaked me out, it was before i knew what Mandela Effect is.

The most popular song on the radio when I was 12 was a version of Daft Punk's One More Time with the instrumental of Alice Deejay's Better Off Alone.

I've searched the internet and asked around. It doesn't exist.
>>
Johnny Rotten died around 2004. I watched it on the news.

The first episode of David the gnome had nudity in it. Tits.

Swans killed children

It's popular for radio djs to splice music together to create a mix. You're not going to find an official version because it doesn't exist.

Well personally I remember clearly that side bones were different than now. There's also this thing I always forget that I was sure about it and discussed with family and close friends and thought I was crazy. After I became extremely interested in Mandela effect and started research about it.
>>
>>19503617
By the way the best question is not what facts do WE know about mandela effect, the best is what facts do YOU and your organization know about it:P. So what facts do you need to learn from the average /x/fag?

It was Sally Fields. Now it's Sally Field and unbelievably she was in a sitcom where she played a role as a telepathic newlywed.

There was a fishermans friend commercial that had part of a Smiths song in it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-8kKH4COvg

It was the part from 1:27 to 1:41. I even remember the "pow" synchronized with some woman in the commerical.
Now I can't find the commercial anywhere. It's as if it doesn't exist.

This is the closest I could find.

I thought Mother Teresa was already a saint for a long time. Turns out she was only canonised in 2016.

I thought Nelson Mandela died in the beginning of the 90s.

Where is the black marking on Pikachu's tail?

The late 90s, early 2000s disney logo was never written by Tinkerbell with her dotting the eye making it splooge with stars all over the screen?
>>
I've watched the Christiane F. movie like a million times, always remembered it as being an hour and a half long - then I saw on the internet it should be 138 minuets long , witch I couldn't fit in anywhere in my memory, I then had a look at my dvd, and that one says 126 minutes.

I'm not saying it's the ME, rather, half of this ME ideas come from, bad memory, like mine with this movie, and the other half comes from fail info on the internet...

Btw, I watched the movie again, and it is 126 miniutes long.. Probably always been, despite info and bad memory.

I just woke from a dream (?) where I was in a different dorm room than I had in college talking with myself in another reality.

I even mentioned Sliders to him. Though I was also a few years back too. In his reality JFK was stabbed not shot. I broke down crying telling him how our JFK was killed. He said later Goldwater became president and the presidency / exec branch was depowered.

Oh. The lucky bastard aslo seemed to have an ongoing long term girlfriend. He also had an older sister unlike me. I was gonna pose as an older cousin as my hair and beard was different.

Coming back to college I had wondered why the trees were all so thin, and I distinctly remember the forest around the campus being thick enough that you couldn't see the road. Now coming back it's easy to see the college from the road. Apparently it's always been this way. Only actual instance I have of the effect.

Me too. Berenstein Bears is the only one that I can't figure out. I know with every fiber of being in my soul that it is Berenstein. When I think of it, or talk about it my brain immediately goes to Berenstein. Berenstain sounds foreign and weird.
>>
>>19505928
Berenstein/stain is a variant on the Jewish/German surname Bernstein, meaning amber. Could be that Yiddish names were transliterated by different standards, be it original spelling or pronunciation. In German, it doesn't make a difference if you write <ei> or <ai>; for example, the words <Seite> and <Saite> are pronounced exactly the same. The spelling difference is there to mark the difference in meaning.
English has little to no correspondences between sounds and written letters. But it could be that people attach a certain pronunciation to a certain spelling in their head, even when the name is spelled differently. Most false memories arise in conversations, because talking with other people forms and reinforces connections between neurons. It could be that the confusion is based on pronunciation rather than spelling.

I watched Good Will Hunting where Leonardo DiCaprio starred. I later visited the movie's IMDb page, then clicked on the link for Leonardo's page to see when Titanic and Shutter Island came out. I did this because I thought he looked very young in GWH, just like in the former, and unlike his appearance in the latter.

Some time ago I couldn't believe it when someone said Matt Damon was in that movie.

Yeah, I remember parents being really agressive and making themselves big to scare them away whenever swans would come up to children.

They definately came towards children.

Not sure about any deaths but is was common knowledge that they could snap a childs bones and inflict other kinds of harm.

Anyone have the clip of this?
>>
There's an old baseball/softball field in my mom's hometown that every time we drove past on our way to visit my grandparents, she would tell me about how she used to play softball there. I've old pictures at my grandparents' house of her in her softball uniform when she was younger.

A couple years ago when we went to visit, the softball field was no longer there. It was now a parking lot for a store. I casually mentioned to my mom that it sucks that they bulldozed over the field and she asked me what I was talking about. I told her "the softball field where you played in your teens," at which point she tells me that she never played on a softball team. I thought she was messing with me, so when we got to her parents' house I asked them about it. They said that there was never a softball field there and that my mom never played. I asked about the pictures and went to look through the old album that they were in, but all the pictures were gone.

This still fucks with me to this day.

>>19502304
This.
Your memory is not a database of recorded events. When you remember something your brain makes a reconstruction of the event. And it is not a very accurate reconstruction. Nor is the reconstruction exactly the same as previous reconstructions. On top of that the proces is clouded by, and mixes in data about the event from reading, hearing and talking about it.
That childhood memory is in no small part based on what your parents told you about it. Probably more than you actually "remembering" it.

And who the fuck cares when Mandela died?

Brand names and movies are the two WORST examples of the "mandela effect". Brands change their names in small ways all the time. Sometimes there are packaging errors that are ignored until the line can be retooled, so you might have MILLIONS of units with a misspelling. Added to that there are often differences in spelling from region to region. Now the same product can cross borders (sometimes illegally) and wind up in the same store. I can get English, German, and Arabic versions of "Kinder Eggs" at my local stores, ALL spelled differently. Even the flavors can be different between regions. Nowadays a "coke" in one country tastes totally different than a "coke" in another.

Movies are even worse than products. There are often different versions of scenes shot and then canned. Now with TV, theaters, different countries, DVD, directors cuts, and broadcast there can be DOZENS of versions of the same movie, with entirely different scenes added, changed, or deleted. When I was KID i used to jerk off to Diane Franklin in Amityville 2 on HBO. She was 20 but was playing a 14 year old when she shows her breasts. Later they TOOK THAT SCENE OUT because it "simulated" child porn. My fondest jerk it scene from my childhood was gone like it never existed. It still exists, just not in any prudish American broadcast (anymore).

I'm not saying the mandela effect doesn't exist, just stop using products and movies as examples. That's retarded.

I would also add a lot of you have been using fake, or knock off products. In some jurisdictions changing the name (even just a little) is enough to get around trademark law. so you can have "Kit Kat" and "Kit-Kat" which are made by DIFFERENT companies. This was more common in the past, but now (big) companies are more likely to sue "counterfeit" products.

Pic, is an example of a company trying to leach off other company's name recognition. I can get BOTH of these in the store RIGHT NOW.
>>
So, I don't know if this is necessarily the mandela effect per se, but I watched this one action video on youtube, and I'm positive that the video clip ended a bit early, but now it seems that the video has extended a few seconds.

I clearly recall myself finding it a little underwhelming how the video does not end with the character jumping out of the window while tackling the other guy, but now it's in the video.

It's kind of strange, and I don't know if I just somehow overlooked it, but that just seems farfetched as I watched this video multiple times, and I even watched it last night while showing it to a guy at my work.

As for the mandingo effects I've experience:
Chic-Fil-A changing to Chick-Fil-A. My experience with this one is going to it a few times with my then girlfriend and even calling it "sheek" fillet and even asking her why they spell it that way. I can probably attribute the fact that before going to it those few times with her, I had only gone and eaten there a handful of times.
