Okay, /x/. It's storytime. All photos are taken by my parents, this past week (specifically the day of the eclipse and the day afterwards)

My father retired at the beginning of this month, and so he and my mom, after 47 years of marriage and working to raise a family, they bought a little camper and decided to camp across our home state of Georgia, on a trial run, and eventually travel across America.

Their first destination was the highest elevation in the state of Georgia: the historic and beautiful Black Rock Mountain. They found it online. Never been there before (nor had they heard of it) but figured it'd be fun. They bought a compact camper for easy towing, so it was a simple climb up the mountain.

The first strange stuff occurred when they visited a strange, small shop at the peak of the mountain, run by a single elderly woman in civil war period costume. The store was full of really bizarre and kind of terrifying carvings, toys, and idols.

Lots of bizarre stuff in the shop. My mom said that she felt really anxious there. Here's another picture of some of the eerie toys.

Upon exploring the grounds, they found about a dozen old homesteads, built in the late 1700's and early 1800's. These were surrounded by woods at the top of the mountain and it was just the two of them up there, they said. Nobody for miles, except that woman at the camp store and two other RVs/campers.

The first building they looked at was a church/meeting house for the local congregation. Here's my dad outside of it. My mom said when she took this picture, the wind started blowing really hard and she heard voices on the wind. They decided to go inside the church building because of the wind. "Not that it was blowing super hard," my mom says, "but just because I didn't want my hair to mess up." Women, right?

The inside of the church was creepy as hell, and not nearly as hot. Dad said it was very chilly inside, and the wind rustling through the logs sounded scary. An intricate stained-glass window, a pulpit with a Bible, an antique piano, and... a coffin... decorate the sanctuary.

Next door was where, my parents assumed, the pastor might have lived. A beautiful home, admittedly, with a lovely waterwheel beside it.

Wait until you see the interior.

A single room. A single bed. A single cross.

My mom said she felt very strange and unsettled there. We, our entire family, are faithful, practicing Christians, so one would think seeing the cross would bring comfort. Not so in that place, my mother attests.

They quickly left, and continued exploring the woods on top of Black Rock Mountain.

The buildings all had a very strange, cold quality to them, my mom said. Again, as faithful people, we're not big into ghosts and spirit energy, but we obviously believe in the supernatural, as religious people. Something very heavy was in the air there, she told me. My dad - a 25 year Marine Corps vet, and then 25 more years as a Sheriff's Deputy and SWAT commander - is a tough guy. He even said it was spooky there.

Here's a building there with a buggy and other riding stuff.

(Also, feel free to bump this thread so it stays alive. The Ghost picture is coming soon. I'd hate for it to die before the climax of our story)

The final building they visited was where they took the picture.

So, it was a typical homestead - I don't even think they took pictures of the inside. But my mom (who is usually the photographer and hates having her picture taken) wanted at least ONE picture with her it.

Handing the camera over to my dad, she stood on the deck of the house, deep in the woods atop Black Rock Mountain.

They left, camped for two days and went home.

She didn't see 'him' until reviewing the pictures this very day.

Do you see 'him?'

I drove home from school in Athens this weekend to see everyone, and she showed me this picture.

"Oh, that's creepy!" I said. "Is that dad?"

"I... I don't think so, Anon..." she said.

I keep looking closer and closer at it. It is 100% not my dad. The body shape, that weird hat, and those suspenders? Not my dad at all.

A painting in the building? "No," mom says, "there were none." I had forgotten they had just been inside.

Someone else exploring? "There was nobody else." She was super scared when she showed me. Kind of excited, too, because holy crap, what IS that behind her? But scared.

I see your Dad's reflection in a mirror through the door frame. What am I looking for here? I kind of see a blue spot to the upper left corner of your Mom's head but other than that I don't see anything.

>>19494678
I don't see any glass. Looks like a door that opens from the top and bottom.

Creepy. What did your parents think?

Parents go to abandoned cabin. Photograph ghost. Anon get scarred. Many such cases.

The wrapped up their little tour of Black Rock Mountain - which we came to find out had been home to many Confederate soldiers - and finished their first night camping... however, mom said she didn't sleep at all, and really just wanted to get the hell out of there.

They ended up camping at a different state park, and the feelings left them. But still - I'm the only one they've told. And now, you guys know.

I thought I'd share this creepy photo set and story with you guys since, as a frequent /x/ lurker myself, I know how starved we are for fun spoopy stories and real photos these days, so I hope you enjoyed a break from "can I fuck a demon," over-the-internet palm readings and ouiji sessions, and Illuminati threads.

Hope you enjoyed. Yes, I do have more photos, if interested, but they're mostly more of the same and random nature shots.

Yeah you're right. I meant somewhere in the house though. It looks like a reflection of some sort.

Nice thread. Not too drawn out and you delivered a nice little spoop.

That was my mom's biggest point - the door had no glass, there is no possible way to reflect anything in that building, at that angle, or with no glass but (and I know yall can't know this) but it is so certainly not my dad.

We have no idea what it is, but it's pretty damn creepy if you ask me.

The only possible explanation I can think of is that there WAS a painting or something my mom missed and it's hanging in the back, or reflecting in glass from a window out of frame (which still makes no sense), but she asserts none of these building just had random paintings or art (believer me, she would have photographed them - she loves that sort of thing) and even if it was, there's nothing to reflect. The light beside the figure is strange, but there is just no glass there.

Why would she even let you believe it might be your Dad? It's odd that she didn't correct you right away and said your Dad was taking the picture.

Do you have a recent pic of your Dad? BTFO the reflection theories in one post.

Thanks, glad you liked it. Like I mentioned, I love taking the opportunity to share even remotely paranormal or spooky things with you guys. Breaks of the other bullshit we have on here most of the time, hah.

>>19494772
They were the only two people up there. Who would be taking the picture but my dad? I assumed it was him in a reflection, until the glass question was brought up and it didn't work either way.

Thank you op. I don't live too far from Black rock mountain. I'll have to make a visit sometime.
