The black night satellite is an artifact that was created to warn future humans. On the black night was an encoded message left in binary which when translated gave us something terrifying. It said such things as the name of our planet, that we are a binary star system, that we have been to space before, and there have been civilizations predating our own, that we are not the only ones in space. Followed up by this message will repeat. I don't remember all the details but that was the jist of most what I understood.
