Depends on how your werewolves work, if you MUST HAVE SILVER or if they just didn't have enough conventional ass whipping to kill one without it and it thus became USE SILVER.

So if it's possible to kill one without the magic material that kills them or not, basically.

I would treat it like any big game animal, and the same rules would probably similarly apply. They're huge and have lots of muscle and organs and are tough. You need lots of oomph to put a hole in that, shatter a pelvis or get all the way through to a spine or blast a rotator cuff apart in order to slow them down before they're on you and eat you.

The considerations are the same as if you're hunting a lion. Is it better to have lots of Okay/Adequate, or one or two shots of HOLY SHIT?

So you would look at a FAL/AR10/whatever, something semi automatic in a BR round like .308 or .30-06 as your low end of acceptable punch, but deep magazines and relatively quick followup shots. And then you get into leverguns in .45-70, ARs in .50 beowulf or .458 socom, and other similarly chunky and middle of the road (as big game rifles go) cartridges. Followup shots are not as quick, but packs more punch.

And then finally, there are the proper stopping rifles - bolt action or double gun. .577 tyrannosaur, .600 nitro express, .950 jdj, the really big meme rounds that you use to stop charging hippos and elephants. Extreme power, but god help you if you miss.

It also depends, as always, on your situation and how many guys you have with you. Are you in alder hell that you can't see 10 yards in? Are you on top of a house in the middle of a field? Or are you somewhere in between? How much money do you have to spend? How much practice have you had?

Hunting a werewolf is a lot like hunting a boar. To do so sfely (well as safe as hunting a half-ton killing machine gets) you need a team.

Primus: You need picadores. Yes, just as if you were fighting bull. YOu wand a few fellows around who's job it is to divert the Garou's attention when he starts paying you too much of it. High powered medium to long range weapons are just about perfect, say .45-70 or .45-90, preferably something with a fairly high rate of fire. These guys are not supposed to atually kill the beast, but to slow it down, piss it off and keep it off balance to prevent it from focusing on any one target for long enough to close the distance.

Secundus: You need a Squire. An apprentice who can load for you, hand you weapons, and back you up with a close range elephant-killer if all else fails. This guy is there to make your putting silver on target for the entire duration of the engagement possible. And if worse comes to worse, he has the 10 ga Lupara loaded with silver shot ready and waiting for when you have to dive out of the way after bolloxing every shot you've made for the last 30 seconds.

Tertius: You're going to want Louphounds. 1/4 Pit bull, 1/4 Rhodesian Ridgeback, 1/4 Alsatian and 1/4 Timber Wolf. These critters are a Hunter's best friends. Loyal, Smart and absolutely fearless pack hunters that can harry and distract your quarry while you line up the killing shot.

Quartus: A half-mad armorer that knows his shit. This is the guy that keeps you and your lads equipped with .45-70 autoloaders and 10 ga Luparas and silver bullets and thermate gel grenades (fire is a greatly overlooked weapon against the supernatural) and Silver boarspears and kukuris

You yourself should be armed with the largest caliber weapon that you're comfortable with, using ammunition made of silver and silver impregnated lead.

I recently read that Chinese demons and jiangshi are weak to peach-wood sword, which as far as I can tell is around the range of oak and ash, believed to be holy and effective against nasty things in other systems of belief.

I suppose if blades are too primitive for you, you can bless or adapt a firearm to work against the night-beasties too.

Aside from blatant weapons, the classic spiritual weapons are always an option. Talismans, circles, certain words and names. I'm still studying them myself though, so I'm not sure of too many specifics. Obviously if you're Christian, the cross/crucifix and various names of God will be useful to you, but if not I'm sure any symbols or deity names of your faith will work. And if not religious, then I guess there are always other things, anything meaningful to you that will help you stand your ground.

I think certain herbs are useful, but I've not really studied or cross-referenced a lot of it. I just know sage is supposed to clear out pretty much everything. Then there are members of the Allium genus (particularly onion and garlic). Common verbena is supposed to have many good uses, though dangerous in some circumstances. There are other toxic plants too. Mandrake, nightshade, wolfsbane, holly and mistletoe... I would highly recommend against them unless you know what the hell you're doing.

Why don't Vamps appear in mirrors, and is there a way to see them (or make sure you can't see them) without carrying a pretty mirror around all the time? Have we invented a simple lens yet that can be applied to sunglasses that holds the same property of the mirror without blinding you by reflecting your eyes?

Also would it be niggy yet useful to embed a mirror into the hilt of a silver sword? There will be three wooden spikes attached onto the hilt (or just one at the bottom) and the inside of the sword's sheath powdered in white ash to constantly coat it. MORE PROTOTYPES PEEPS C'MON.

There's one above about etching the circle of kek into the stock of a nugget. Would this work (symbol on stock giving the projectiles magic properties) or would you need to do something
direct like dip the bullets/inner barrel in white ash?

Also not sure if someone already said something like nail bombs with sharp religious emblems in them like tiny crucifixes caked in white ash and black powder inside a jar. Calling an exorcist for a ghost is like calling the police right before a robber murders you. The last thing I'll be thinking about if I see shit knocked off a shelf is to support my local priest business. How would I deal with an aggressive ghost if there is no chance to contact an expert? What are ways you can fuck this up and prevent fucking it up? Is it obvious to know if you have made peace/fucked shit up?

I'd appreciate honest answers. Even if you are only guessing like I am, don't intentionally make fake shit up because that's rood and derails our progress. We just want to prepare for the spooks that linger. I love you all.

Hello, not that guy, but... wow, so much to go with here. As stated before, my interest is solely on folklore, so let me try my best.

The best I can gather about mirrors is that it (like shadows) is supposed to cast the reflection of the soul. Never heard of much outside of fiction involving vampires, besides that not covering mirrors in the home of the deceased may cause the soul to be caught within, which may cause some trouble in the future (or just trouble for the soul). I remember in my youth hearing about spy sunglasses with mirrors on the sides to look behind you, but I've never tried them. I wonder if they'd be something like you're talking about.

No need to embed a mirror onto a sword, just give it a reflective surface with the natural materials. Spikes seem pointless though. The point of a hardwood stake is that it will drive through the body/rib cage without breaking (though magical properties of the wood are supposedly useful too?) but honestly, if you're going to use a sword, the blade is fine.

Not sure what the "circle of kek" is, but yes, I think magical or religious symbols will be useful. Possibly needed on the barrel? Not sure. Someone said something about dipping before though, so maybe that'll be okay too. Again though, werewolves don't even need silver.

I'm not sure if there's a point behind a religious "nail bomb." It's flashy, but seems kind of pointless and damaging. I don't think the law will help you.

I used to have spy shades like that and plastic nocs that slid out to mirror on one side. Even for seeing behind me my hair blocked it half the time and it wasn't effective. Bears can walk on 2 legs, and do so to gain use of their fore limbs. They will however usually use all 4 limbs when moving as they're much faster like that.

Uh... I don't suppose so. If you can find a rock that has a natural hole through it (erosion-based, I guess) it's supposed to allow you to see the invisible, though. But generally, if there's something physical that is supernatural, you'll probably know it before long.

If there isn't a pamphlet, I wish there was. Probably would need someone more experienced than me... but the rundown of dealing with a ghost seems to amount to finding a peaceful common ground (if you are okay with it staying), or letting them know that they're dead, you live there now, and that they need to let go. Unless there is something else keeping them there (buried in the basement or something, I don't know), then you may need to figure out how to help them out.

Essentially, help them cross over, and you won't need to force them out with holy water or sage or anything.

At least, that's what others seem to think. I haven't been able to get any field experience with it. Hopefully I can find a local group and get involved though.

Fairies will. There are plenty of stories about ordinary people marrying fairies (the Selkie is a pretty well-known one). Aliens will more likely take semen from someone and impregnate someone else, it's purely clinical. Obviously succubi and incubi will be up for sex, whether you want it or not.

Like I said, werewolves are just people who turn into wolves, so in their human form they'll probably be DTF. Skinwalkers aren't that much different from that, are they? Same might go for humans with giantism, but I'm not familiar enough with folklore to say much about "real" giants. Or dwarves, for that matter.

Kitsune and kumiho are just foxes, so I don't expect much would go on there.
