wow and I thought I was the only one feeling this way? Like how people nowadays just love reminiscing about things that happened 5 years ago, regardless of feeling like it was longer.

I think it's a mixture of turbulent times we are constantly in due to the in your face power of social media and the media in general. And on the other side of it, every year seems to feel like it goes faster, due to the rapidness of our technology and it's constant tug and pull on our lives, making us catch up to pace with it.

Or maybe we are just aware of time and it's more arbitrary properties such as the idea that time is merely a man-made concept and like many things man-made, is beginning to fail on us.

It's really the internet. It has completely changed the way humans think. I don't think people have realized yet just how different we are, from say, people who lived pre 2001. We are essentially losing sense of what is real, and what isn't. What matters and what doesn't. Worst of all is going to be, when these technologies either fail, or are targets of foreign attacks. Now, most people can't fathom living in a world with out interconnectivity.

Looks like all of you niggers need to watch HyperNormalization.

I believe its changing out perception of time as well. Our brains are processing time, just as fast as the information around us. Hence the feel that things are speeding up. We are heading towards a point of exhaustion for many that will cause serious mental health issues.

However the OP makes a good point. The difference between 2006 and 2007 is huge - even by intution. 2002,2003,2004,2005,2006 all feel similar, yet 2007 feels like a 'year of change.' Although 2012, and 2014 also feel like that. 2016 slightly less so. I don't know why.

2007 is a paticular year that i remember. Everything changed for me. I went from being rather overweight as a kid to extremely skinny from not eating when I was 15. Add on lots of pot and exploration

I was into some cult like thing those days and felt that was the reason. I had a love-hate thing with spiritual matters but it reached a peak in 2007 and I was almost empty by 2008. I have been consciously away from such things ever since. Not sure why.

I never noticed any specific year, but at some point I started perceiving everything differently. I feel like up to that point everything was, well, real, and now life feels like a dream, it's all empty and grey.
But I always atributted that change to myself and maybe simply growing up, rather than any universal event.
