Few years back I ran into a little phantasm. He was mantled in black, but his face was a fine white. He stood in the threshold between two rooms, glaring at me. What strikes me as odd is that I don't remember feeling terribly unnerved having saw him.

Strange part is I can recall my brother just a year or so prior kvetching about seeing something not so different. Worth noting he told us the thing smiled at him, though, while I pretty clearly remember it looking dour and stony.

Any idea what this means? I'm feeling kinda sick typing this. Hope I'm not bringing it back.

I'd like to also pose my own What the hell did I see?

In friend's basement of a brand new house playing tag by sound in the dark. We all saw an ~8ft tall black figure (yes in pitch darkness) walking slowly towards us. I guess I could describe it as a void we could see. It was a hooded figure with its right arm up beside its head. In the hand was a curved silver blade like a scythe cept lacking the staff part.

It started running at us once we swore (was screaming for parents to turn lights on) and instantly disappeared when the lights came on. It made no noise as it passed through plastic bags and other items on the floor. It also unlocked the basement door that leads outside (the direction it came from) which is odd.

I live in PA of united states. Happened 20 years ago.
