I still don't think that's what it really means, but, you could be right. The Revelation could be the Revelation as John described it, without knowing a specific date.

I might be wrong, but these two verses contradict each other. The simplest fix is that Mark is recalling events that happened before Revelation was penned, and that Revelation is the gift the father gave to the son to show his servants what to expect at the end.

That's why I think it's not referring to a specific date. It's more like, "here are the signs that you will be in the end times. You will see such things come to pass."

The rapture is false doctrine; the bible does not speak of one. I've read revelations to find verses that support mankind remaining on earth during the 7 year tribulation.

Revelation 9:4
They [the locust-like creatures] were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any green plant or any tree, but only those people who DO NOT have the seal of God on their foreheads.

This verse implies Christians will be on the planet as the verse specifies not every person remaining will be wicked.
