the Heroes TV show had all the heroes get their powers during eclipses.

The Flash had some of the people get affected by a PARTICLE ACCELERATOR exploding and gaining powers. CERN just last year some insanely evil ritual for the opening of their really long tunnel. CERN aka The Large Hadron Collider. This ritual was in view of millions yet almost no one knows about it except for the people who pay attention (us).

Things are picking up with tremendous speed and CERN could have something scheduled for monday. You never know with this world, anything can happen.
