Take a look at this picture. So, we know certain things about space, planets, stars, all that. Assuming that a paranormal dimension exists, where would it be?

Wrong assertion, there is no space connected to this realm, it's not the way it works, you couldn't reach it or travel to it. 3D world is the shell of the forces behind it, the forces that you may observe as a conscious, analytical entity.

I'm no scientist so I will explain this horribly but astrophysicists have postulated that through black holes are other universes, and through their black holes are more universes, and so forth.
In such a possibility, our own universe's big bang is the contents of another universe's star(s) or energy being squeezed through a black hole.
Fun fact, someone combined the OP image with my image to make a googly-eyed biblical dragon of the apocalypse.

Maybe we have to look into ourselves.
I always found fascinating that the entheogen like experience (i.e. Dimethyltriptamine) removes you completly from everyday experience, alters widely time perception, and makes contact with alien entities "elves".
All this qualifies for a paranormal dimension, my two cents...
